Chapter 38 Spring Break Trip

Chapter 38 Spring Break Trip

I have to say that Namir might be telling the truth. When I saw Paris at school, he was always alone.

"Namir, you are so rude. This is Vera's friend. You need to learn to respect her!"

Emma said with a serious expression.

Zhang Wei thought Namier was a bit rebellious and was about to get angry, but unexpectedly he immediately said to her:

"Okay, sorry Vera, I shouldn't have made such comments about your friends."

"It's okay." She really didn't mind.

I have to say that Namir, as the youngest child in the family, was also well educated.

Zhang Wei also realized that she couldn't always be alone. Humans are social animals and she also needs companions. Although her companions are very young, it is impossible for her to make friends with adults.

However, after she invited Dora and Grace once, Grace refused to come again. She felt that reading and studying on weekends was unbearable. Dora still liked to read with her because she sometimes discussed it with Zhang Wei, like now:

"Vera, I don't think Jane Eyre is strong."

"She was strong before she met Rochester"

She sighed: "Alas, love makes people weak"

"..." It was indeed quite amusing to hear her say such things like a little adult.

"The beauty of love forced her to give up her persistence." It is better to keep a beautiful heart at a young age.

Although she doesn't know how beautiful love is.

"Fortunately, I decided to reject Nick. I don't want to be like Jane Eyre." Dora said with some relief.

"What?" Zhang Wei thought she had misheard.

"Don't you know? He asked me to be his girlfriend last year. I originally thought I needed a boyfriend, but the love letter he wrote to me had three misspelled words in it, which made it unbearable for me."

Dora's tone was so matter-of-fact that Zhang Wei's mouth dropped open.

Nick, the last in the class, is a warm and lively blond chubby boy. Unlike Namier, he likes to play with little girls and is a very outgoing person.

"Why do you think you need a boyfriend?" Zhang Wei said with some difficulty.

"I can't be alone all the time. No one likes reading. Nick can have fun alone and it won't bother me."

Zhang Wei was unable to refute. It sounded like Nick was indeed good, and Dora had good taste.

"But after you came, I felt that I didn't need a boyfriend that much. We can have fun together. You are much more important than Grace."

Dora immediately pulled her aside to confess, which was a bit like the saying that only the new people laugh but the old people cry.

Zhang Wei was very pleased to have won friendship. She could talk more with Dora and really didn't want to discuss cartoon characters and playing house with other children.

Later, after getting Dora's permission, Zhang Wei also brought Paris into their small circle, and the three of them got along quite well.

Dora is very accepting of people who are better than her, and Paris obviously meets her standards for choosing a friend.

Before spring break, the three of them had already had a regular gathering time. They also went to Paris's house. Paris's mother was a very gentle woman. Apart from not looking like a Chinese from Country A, she looked more like a traditional Chinese woman and would bake snacks for them.

However, Grace did not feel lost about being estranged from her good friend. She has been playing with Nick recently because she is now Nick's girlfriend.

Uh... this complicated triangle relationship...

The spring break that all students have been looking forward to has finally arrived. There is a total of two weeks of vacation. The Wilsons are not free this time, so if they want to travel, they can choose a tour group organized by the school.

Zhang Wei looked at the projects they had assigned, and there was only one: the Orlando theme park.

To be honest, she had no interest in places like amusement parks and would rather just wander around the suburbs of New York.

The other students were quite interested and were discussing whether to go to Disneyland or Islands of Adventure. Dora pushed the brochure aside and said:

"It's too crowded and boring. I don't want to go."

Zhang Wei suggested, "I don't want to go either. How about we make an appointment to have a picnic in Central Park? I haven't been there yet. If Betty is free, she can take us there!"

"That sounds great. Let's plan it out!" She became excited again after saying that.

After class, they went upstairs to find Paris and invite him to plan a picnic in Central Park.

Unfortunately, their hopes were dashed. Paris said he was sorry, but this time he wanted to participate in the school's spring break travel plan.

When Zhang Wei took the third-grade project list and looked at it, he was so envious that he cried.

Besides the Orlando theme parks there are also Niagara Falls and Yellowstone Park!

She wants to go to all of them, especially Yellowstone National Park - a wonder of natural scenery and a paradise for wildlife.

"I also want to go to Yellowstone Park," Zhang Wei said disappointedly.

"Yes, it would be great to go and see the animals!" Dora also looked longing.

"Yes, we have the same idea. I just want to go to Yellowstone Park. This is a rare opportunity, so I can't join you this time."

The two looked at Paris eagerly, full of envy.

So they could only return to the classroom in shame, and suddenly felt that having a picnic in Central Park was not so attractive anymore.

Zhang Wei really wanted to go to Yellowstone Park. When she was in China, she saved up all her annual leave to go to Linzhi, Kanas, and Daxinganling. She had no resistance to the natural scenery, not to mention the abundant wild animals.

Alas, no wonder children always want to grow up.

When she grew up, she didn't want to go back to her childhood. She finally looked forward to being independent after graduation. She didn't expect that she would have to wait all over again. Only then did she realize how slowly time passed.

That night, she was writing in her diary about Yellowstone Park. While she was still writing, Betty came over and asked her to come downstairs. She said Charles asked her to come over.

Zhang Wei was a little confused. The children at home never went to the office downstairs, and he never asked them to go in.

Betty knocked lightly on the door and went in. Charles was on the phone and waved for her to come over. Then he said to the other end of the phone:

"Yes, that's very thoughtful of you. Thank you. Okay, I'll ask my daughter and get back to you later."

Then he hung up the phone and asked Zhang Wei to sit down.

The chair was quite high, and when Zhang Wei was about to climb up, Charles lifted him up and made him sit down.

"Vera, I heard from Mr. Lin's son Paris that you want to go to Yellowstone Park, right?"

"Yes, Dad, but I'm too young. Dora and I think it's okay to wait until third grade."

She didn't know why Mr. Lin was so extravagant, but the Wilsons were obviously busy, and even Manny and Namier were participating in the spring break tour organized by the school.
