Chapter 41 Yellowstone Trip 3

Chapter 41 Yellowstone Trip 3

When they returned to Salt Lake City in the evening, it was almost dark. Qiao took them to the restaurant they had made a reservation at. Zhang Wei found that they didn't order anything for herself, but only let the three children order.

Paris also noticed this, and he said considerately: "You can eat together, and the bill can be put on me."

Zhang Wei also thought that they wanted to save money. The food in this restaurant was not cheap, and simple dishes started at dozens of dollars.

Unexpectedly, Ruth said, "Thank you for your generosity, baby, but we have booked a Mexican restaurant, and we don't really like eating these small and delicate things."

It turned out that she was going to cook for herself. Zhang Wei didn't like eating white people's food, but Mexican food seemed very appetizing. She asked tentatively:

“Can I try Mexican food?”

Ruth shook her head: "Your stomach can't handle such stimulating food."

What should I do? I want to eat more, my mouth is so dry...

Zhang Wei also understood that they were afraid of being held responsible if something went wrong, so they had no choice but to eat here.

Paris, feeling like a grown-up, consoled him, "I'll take you to eat Mexican food when we get back to New York City. I know a place that makes really good Mexican food that we can eat at."

Dora was also very considerate: "Yes, Vera, I will accompany you then. I have also eaten Indian food! It tastes good too."

Zhang Wei felt a little embarrassed for a moment. She actually needed the comfort of a child.

Well, Zhang Wei's appetite, which had been aroused by the mention of Indian food, diminished a little, and he finally ordered a roast chicken. The taste was pretty good, not too bad for the price.

When they finished eating and returned to the resort, Ruth and the others' dinner had already been delivered. The room was filled with the smell of smoke and spices, which was so delicious!

Paris whispered:

"Vera, maybe I'm wrong. The Mexican restaurant I know might not be as good as this one."

Dora agreed: "It smells so good. I just finished eating, but I still feel like eating."

Zhang Wei was so full that even though the food smelled delicious, she didn't feel like eating it. But she had a plan.

"How about this, when we return to Salt Lake City after our trip, we can ask them to order for us once, eat, and then go home. They shouldn't worry about not being able to handle the food if something goes wrong."

"Okay, then let's close the door. I don't want to smell it but not be able to eat it." Dora sighed and pulled Zhang Wei into the room.

Zhang Wei took a look and it seemed to be tacos and barbecue. The colors looked very appetizing. She hoped she could eat them when she returned to Salt Lake City.

The next day, we followed the route in the travel guide and entered the Yellowstone National Park. If the Great Salt Lake was an appetizer, the Yellowstone National Park was comparable to a full banquet.

Along the way, the three of them could only exclaim "Wow! Wow!" Unfortunately, they were uneducated. Fortunately, they brought a camera and filled a whole box of film.

Standing on the "Sky Bridge" in the West Canyon, although I am still a little afraid of heights, I overlook the beautiful scenery of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River more than 1,000 meters below, and feel the freedom of walking in the clouds. The red rock walls below are magnificent.

Zhang Wei suddenly thought of the cliff path in Chenjia Village. The feeling he had when he escaped was completely different from how he felt now.

Walking through the bottom of the antelope color snow, looking up, you can see silky edges and corners like flowing water, and the light shining through from the top looks extremely magnificent.

What shocked Zhang Wei the most was its geothermal fountain, which looked like a small active volcano. The hot steam rising from the spring showed that its temperature was not low.

They didn't get very close, but looking at the hot springs surging on the ground, they felt a sense of threat that they were about to erupt. They also witnessed the geyser eruption with their own eyes, which was a rare spectacle.

In comparison, the Grand Prism they arrived at later was much gentler. It is also called the "Seven-Colored Pool". Only when you see it with your own eyes can you understand what it means to be worthy of the name.

The middle of the lake is a highly saturated emerald green. From the center to the surrounding areas, the color gradually changes from green to yellow. The part near the shore is a fiery orange-red, like a huge colorful gem.

Finally, they arrived at Grand Teton National Park, which the three of them had been looking forward to the most at the beginning. This part is located in the Rocky Mountains. In addition to the magnificent natural scenery, there is also a rich variety of wild animals.

Their itinerary included a short hike, and the night before they were imagining whether they would encounter a deer and, if so, whether they could pet it.

As a result, they encountered a brown bear while riding in the car through Grand Teton!

At that time, Qiao wanted to drive through quickly, but when he saw Zhang Wei and the others with their eyes glued to the car window, Ruth persuaded him to stop:

"Relax, our car is very sturdy. Let the children see it. It is not something that can be easily encountered."

Before he could finish his words, another one came out from the woods on the side of the road. They moved very quickly and soon approached the hood of the car.

Zhang Wei held his breath. When the bear stood up, half of its body was taller than the front of the car. Their car was an off-road vehicle, very tall.

What was even more frightening was that one of the brown bears actually arched its back and rubbed the front of the car a few times, causing the car to shake suddenly.

Such great strength! Zhang Wei quickly covered her mouth to avoid making any noise that would scare them.

Zhang Wei suddenly heard a mechanical click. I was sitting diagonally behind Venus, and she saw the gun tip...

For a moment she didn't know whether Venus was scarier or the brown bear!

"Hey, calm down! We can't afford to pay for it!" Ruth noticed her actions and stopped her.

She shared a room with guns every day. Zhang Wei found it difficult to adapt to the situation. Although she had always known that gun ownership was legal in Country A, this was her first time to come into such close contact with one...

Her fear of bears immediately disappeared. After all, no matter how thick the brown bear's skin was, it could not withstand a few bullets.

But after a while, Brown Bear also gave up their car, and then Ruth rolled down all the windows and said:

"Hurry and take a look, or I won't let you go down to make their snacks!"

Zhang Wei immediately smelled a foul odor, and Dora also fanned her nose and said:

“They smell so bad!”

"Of course, who would dare to bathe them?"

I don’t know what touched Ruth about Zhang Wei’s words, but she started giggling again.

After driving for another half an hour, we finally arrived at the Deer Antler Park where we could see the elk.

What appears to be a vast grassland here is backed by towering snow-capped mountains with only sparse trees, so any animals that appear nearby can be spotted immediately.

Everyone was traveling lightly, but Zhang Wei felt that they still carried guns. Zhang Wei and his companions only carried a little water, and the hike only took an hour.

The grass on the ground was very dense and tall, so it was relatively easy for Zhang Wei and the others to walk behind the adults. They just had to follow the footprints in front of them.

The three adults formed a triangle and surrounded Zhang Wei and the others in the middle. Although Zhang Wei felt that there should be no large animals here, after all, they should have made some preparations beforehand.
