Chapter 51 Don’t Want to Exercise
After an anxious wait, Zhang Wei's physical examination results finally came out.
The result was that she had some anemia, which was not a big problem. However, regarding her last fever that did not go away, the doctor concluded that she had a poor physical condition, malnutrition, and lack of exercise.
Emma couldn't believe it. All of Zhang Wei's indicators were normal when he was in the welfare home.
Zhang Wei felt that this made sense. During the time he was in the welfare home, he had to scramble for food, so naturally he ate a lot.
We eat white people's food here, which is a bit hard to get used to. I can only barely fill my stomach every time.
There is not much activity at school, and sometimes when he is really hungry, the sight of cold food really reduces his appetite. Zhang Wei dreams of growing up quickly and cooking for himself, but it seems that this day is still a long way off.
She also doesn't like high-calorie sweets, so she rarely eats snacks. The family will prepare some snacks specifically for her, but except for potato chips, the others are a disaster to eat, especially sugar and chocolate, which can make people choke to death.
Once, out of curiosity, Zhang Wei opened a pack of soft candies that looked like QQ candy, and she choked so much that she drank three glasses of water in a row.
People here don't eat much pork, and beef and chicken are often the staple food. Zhang Wei can eat these, but he doesn't tend to gain weight after eating them.
Just as Zhang Wei was trying to think of a way to eat a few more bites, the Wilsons' ideas were obviously not on the same page as hers.
They think that the main reason for Zhang Wei's poor physical condition is that he neglects exercise, and that Zhang Wei needs to increase his exercise volume.
Zhang Wei felt that she was being wronged. She had physical education classes five days a week, and she also had two equestrian clubs. She would go to the horse farm to practice for half a day on weekends. Where was she getting less exercise?
However, she has a physique that sweats less. After every physical education class, everyone is sweating profusely, but she doesn't feel like she has had too much strenuous exercise.
Of course, this is also due to Zhang Wei's own reasons. Other children run around like crazy during physical education class, but she tries not to move if possible. The only route she walks every day is from the school gate to the classroom. This may be one of the reasons.
But Zhang Wei really doesn't like sports. She has always been like this. It is too difficult for her to go out and sweat.
There are only two ways for her to improve her physical fitness at present: one is to change her diet, as it is not very realistic for her to have two meals a day at school; the other is to increase her exercise. Emma wants to add other sports courses for her.
However, she still took Zhang Wei's interests into consideration and asked Zhang Wei if she had any ideas, but this time she needed to choose a sport that involved large body movements.
One option is dancing. Almost all dances involve a lot of exercise, so Emma prefers this.
But Zhang Wei was really not interested and she had a psychological trauma about this.
I remember that before the fourth grade of elementary school, she had a good friend named Li Jing. They went out together every day. Although Li Jing's parents didn't care about her, Li Jing's grandparents would come to pick her up every weekend.
Every time Li Jing would bring her delicious food and fun things, until one day the class selected people to participate in the New Year's Day dance performance.
There was only one girl in their class who could dance and she transferred from the dance class, so the teacher gave her the task of choreographing the dance.
All the girls in the class signed up for the dance performance. Li Jing loved dancing and seemed to have learned a little in kindergarten, so she asked Zhang Wei to sign up as well.
She and Li Jing were both lucky enough to pass the preliminary selection. The twelve people including them received special care from the lead dancer and went to her house to practice dancing together on weekends.
Zhang Wei remembers Li Jing being incredibly happy because she didn't go back to her grandparents' house that week. The night before her departure, even after the lights were turned off in the dormitory, Zhang Wei could still see Li Jing's eyes sparkling with joy.
As expected, the lead dancer had been dancing since he was three years old. There was a whole wall of mirrors at home. Zhang Wei looked at herself in the mirror and thought how distorted her movements were when she followed others.
She had never danced before, and God knew it. The lead dancer just pinched her wrist, asked her to try to do a split, and then passed her.
She looked at herself in the mirror and felt that something was wrong.
Sure enough, after she had danced twice, the lead dancer asked her to step aside and watch them dance. Li Jing was also called down at the same time.
Li Jing danced very well. Zhang Wei still remembers her graceful figure and how she learned all the moves in one try. She was just unlucky to have such a friend.
Because this dance requires two people in a group, and because they have a good relationship, they automatically formed a group from the beginning. Zhang Wei was eliminated, and Li Jing was left without a dance partner, which naturally implicated her.
On the way back, Li Jing kept crying silently. Zhang Wei said sorry, but Li Jing never spoke to her again.
Because of dancing, Zhang Wei lost her only friend at that time. She felt a little aggrieved at the time, but now she thinks that dancing may not just be dancing to Li Jing, but the carefree and happy time with her parents by her side.
So whenever Zhang Wei thought of dancing, what always came to her mind were her twisted and stiff movements in the mirror, so she didn't want to learn dancing.
Some track and field sports can easily cause injuries to the body, and she has no interest in ball games. In the end, out of pragmatism, she chose physical confrontation sports.
Emma was quite surprised by this, but she still decided to take her to the Youth Physical Confrontation Club to experience it.
Initially, Zhang Wei wanted to choose Chinese martial arts, as the moves are beautiful, have self-defense effects, and also have performance functions. It can be said that if he practices well, he can achieve multiple goals at one time.
But when Zhang Wei arrived at the club, he found that there was only one Chinese person teaching Tai Chi among the Chinese martial arts here. There were no swords, guns, sticks or clubs. Emma would not approve of the amount of exercise in Tai Chi.
Namir had a different take on this, and yes, he came along too.
He felt that the movements of Tai Chi were very similar to a wizard casting spells, so he believed that Tai Chi taught some kind of magic, which interested him quite a bit.
In fact, this club also has a wide range of other sports. The more intense ones include boxing, mixed martial arts, American wrestling, then Muay Thai, fencing, karate, taekwondo, and finally the more niche ones that Zhang Wei has never even heard of, such as Krav Maga, Sambo, and Capoeira.
Zhang Wei thought about it and decided to choose something that required technical skills. She originally chose mixed martial arts, but when she went there, the coach said he would not accept her and would wait until she was 12 years old.
But she clearly saw children around her age, although they looked stronger.
This made Zhang Wei feel that her aura was a little off recently. Her husband was sick, and she couldn't learn any of the sports she wanted to choose later. Taekwondo and karate, kicking wooden boards every day, were like trying to fool someone.
Zhang Wei had tried those wooden boards before, they were all specially made and were completely vulnerable.
