Chapter 15 Sunshine Boy
Zhang Wei and Namier, who were freed from their restraints, refused to take the strollers provided by the airport. What a joke! They would probably have to sit on the plane for a long time soon, and it was finally possible to move around.
As soon as Zhang Wei entered the airport, he felt a sense of familiarity. This familiarity was not because it looked like China, but because of the modern feeling, like China 20 years later. One can imagine how hard China worked in the following years.
Her mood was different from the last time she came from China. This time she had time to look around. Obviously, their family of so many people traveling together was also under the scrutiny of others.
Zhang Wei, in particular, could feel that most of the eyes looking at her were filled with curiosity and disgust, so she knew that she had encountered a racist.
However, as a yellow person, she is mentally prepared to live in a world that is mostly white. When she grows strong enough, she will slap these people in the face.
But it’s too early to think about this now. Zhang Wei looked at the flight they were about to take, and it turned out to be to the UK!
The flight was not very long. Unexpectedly, Namir was more well-behaved than Zhang Wei had imagined. She ate something, watched TV for a while, and then fell asleep. Zhang Wei was afraid of getting tinnitus like last time, so she did not sleep. She watched two movies and then arrived at the destination. I don’t know if it was because she was concentrating, but she did not have the problem of tinnitus.
"Hey! Manny! This!" I heard a clear voice as soon as I got out of the station.
"Lida!" Manny ran over like the wind, leaving everyone else behind.
This was the first time Zhang Wei saw Manny, who looked steady and reserved, show obvious emotions. She looked at the young man; they looked so similar, Zhang Wei seemed to see a younger version of Charles!
Although he doesn't look as delicate as Manny, his smile is full of enthusiasm. He looks like the sunny male god in American campus dramas. His whole body is shining. It turns out that this is Leda Wilson, the eldest child in the Wilson family.
After Leida put down Manny who had pounced on her, she greeted her parents warmly, then lifted Namier and Zhang Wei up in turn to greet them:
"Oh, God! Namir, you can't eat anymore. I can't hold you anymore!" After saying that, he grabbed Namir under his armpits, lifted him up and threw him again, making Namir laugh.
"Look! What a beautiful sister! Her name is Vera, right? I have prepared a gift for you."
Leida said as she lifted Zhang Wei up in the same way. As she was preparing to face his next move as if she were facing a formidable enemy, Leida suddenly laughed out loud:
"Hahaha! Don't worry, I'm not disrespectful to ladies."
After putting Zhang Wei down, he bowed in front of him with graceful and elegant movements. In an instant, Leida turned from a sunny boy into an elegant gentleman.
Zhang Wei seemed to be inspired by her. She imitated the movements she had seen on TV, gently pinching the hem of her skirt with both hands, curtsying, and then said with a feigned reserve, "Nice to meet you, my dear brother."
The adults were happy to see their children pretending to be mature. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson couldn't help but smile, and Betty even laughed out loud.
Zhang Wei wore a light yellow vest dress with dark patterns today, with a white French collar shirt underneath, which made her slightly cold features look fresh and calm. Combined with her reserved expression when she saluted, she really looked like a proud little princess.
This pleasant meeting left Zhang Wei with a very good impression of Leida. He was also the only child who showed enthusiasm when he first met her. Perhaps it was due to the mature social etiquette of a child who was about to grow up, but Zhang Wei still liked it very much.
Leida is already in high school this year, which was speculated by Zhang Wei because he said that "A-lever" only has one year left before applying for university, so British high schools should be very different from those in China.
Moreover, Leida's accent seemed strangely familiar. She thought about it for a long time before she remembered that when she was learning English in junior high school, she learned British English, so there were still some residual memories in her mind.
"It's a good thing you're here now. If you were any later, I would have to go to Germany to attend a sailing summer camp, and I wouldn't be able to see you all summer!" Leida said with some relief.
Manny immediately asked, "Leida, is there a game coming up soon?"
"Yes, you guessed it right, there's the European School Student League in October and I'm working hard for it!"
"I wish you success, Leida!" Family members sent their blessings.
The family stayed in a hotel in London for one night before continuing their journey to their destination by car the next day.
The food in this hotel is really bad. Zhang Wei would rather eat bread than eat the red wine steak with a strange smell. The salad also tastes like shampoo. Compared to this, the cheese mushroom soup is still edible.
Thinking about eating this for the entire summer vacation, Zhang Wei felt uncomfortable in her stomach...
The next morning, Betty woke her up early and found a suit that Zhang Wei hated the most and asked her to wear it because it was a completely adult style, with a short suit on the top and a skirt on the bottom, and a pearl boutonniere on the chest.
After putting them on, Zhang Wei felt like she was stealing adult clothes. She was too thin and short, and couldn't support them at all...
Zhang Wei looked at herself in the mirror with a bit of disgust, but Betty remained unmoved and kept saying:
"My hair is too short. It would be better if I could tie it up. Um... let me see. It looks much better after I put on the hat."
Finally, he kissed Zhang Wei on the head, looked at her and said, "That's it. Very beautiful. Mrs. Collins will like you. May God bless you!"
"Mrs. Collins?" Although Zhang Wei felt that praying to the Jade Emperor would be more effective than praying to God, judging from Betty's tone, this should be a very important person.
"Don't worry, dear. We'll go see her after breakfast and you'll know then!" Betty was obviously unwilling to say more.
Zhang Wei could only ask Namir. Namir and Manny were both dressed very formally, and it was obvious that he didn't like it either.
She waved and Namir came over immediately. When he found that he knew more about everything than Vera, he was very happy to show off his erudition. After all, there was only one person like him in the family who could let him express himself freely.
"Namir, do you know Mrs. Collins?" Zhang Wei asked in a low voice, although she was sure that Manny, who was not far away, heard it.
Namir looked as if this was no big deal, but he still said:
"Of course I know, she is Daddy's sister, our aunt,"
"Hmm..." Namiel seemed to be recalling something. "She's very good at raising rabbits!"
"Hmph!" Zhang Wei looked at Manny. She swore that she laughed when she saw Manny just now, but immediately held it back. Now her face expression was still a little strange.
