Jiang Qiao was dumbfounded. Over the years, all she knew about Ning Ailin was that she didn't do well in her husband's family and was bullied. She really didn't care about anything else.
Mainly because she's busy, she doesn't have the energy to pay attention to other people's affairs. But after hearing this today, it seems that's not the case.
"In that case, wouldn't the Wang family be a local tyrant?"
The other party sighed, "It's no exaggeration to call them tyrants. They have a lot of relatives. If anything happens, they all come when called. They're all on the same side. Who would dare to challenge them for no reason?"
Back then, I also heard that Ning Hao's father went to Wang Zhongquan to talk about his sister's matter, but it didn't work out either.
Ning Hao's father was incredibly powerful back then; even he couldn't handle him. Why? Because the Wang family weren't reasonable people. So, like a scholar encountering a soldier, he couldn't reason with them.
The other two, standing to the side, exclaimed in surprise, "My God, if Brother Ning goes over there, won't he suffer a loss?"
The young man sighed, "It's hard to say. Although Brother Ning is quite capable, he can't fight back against those women, can he?"
Fu Lin glanced at Jiang Qiao and said, "Now you should know what's going on with their family, right?"
You were either in school or busy before, so you didn't have time to know what was going on with Ning Ailin's family. That silly woman probably couldn't go around telling everyone what was going on with their family, so she ended up suffering the consequences.
The Ning family wouldn't dare publicize such in-law relationships, so you're one of those kept in the dark.
Jiang Qiao slammed her hand on the steering wheel, almost cursing, "Isn't this just harming people? If it weren't for people like them, would no one care about the Wang family's affairs?"
The young man sighed, "It's not like it's murder or arson. As long as it's not too outrageous, nobody cares. Take Ning Hao's aunt, for example. She and her husband fought so many times back then. The police did try to mediate, but it was no use. They would fight again next time."
So, this matter is one that the authorities won't investigate unless the people complain. At most, you'll suffer a loss, and you'll just remember it and avoid associating with their family in the future.
It's not that we can't beat him, it's that we don't have the time to get entangled with him. That Wang Zhongquan is a scoundrel; you can't hit him, you can't scold him, and you can't let such a thing get on your nerves. How can you live your life like that?
Jiang Qiao chuckled twice. "So, Wang Zhongquan is still the same as always. You have to wonder how blind Ning Ailin is to have taken a liking to such a thing. Sigh, it's good that she went to see him, so my man won't suffer."
Fortunately, Jiang Qiao and his group arrived. With Fu Lin in charge, finding Wang Zhongquan's family was easy.
The Wang family lived on the outskirts of the city. Their house wasn't small, with five main rooms and side rooms. However, there were too many people in the family. The old lady of the Wang family loved to be in charge, and even after her son got married, they didn't separate from the family and lived together. It's no wonder there were conflicts.
Luckily, Jiang Qiao and the others arrived. As soon as they stopped the car, they saw Ning Hao surrounded by several old ladies, some pulling and tugging at him. As for Ning Ailin, good heavens, she was surrounded and being beaten by several old women.
"Damn it, get out of the car and help!"
At Fu Lin's command, the group of men pushed open the door and rushed out.
Jiang Qiao wasn't going to back down either. She pulled out the key and rushed into the yard, grabbing the old women and tearing them off Ning Hao.
With a stern face, she angrily rebuked the group of old women, "Have you no shame? You're so old, yet you still act like hooligans towards young people. If you're disgusted by your own old man's wrinkled face, you can go find someone else. Why are you holding my man? Let me tell you, try holding him again and see if I'll agree to it or not."
Jiang Qiao was formidable, and those few were no pushovers either. After being pulled by Jiang Qiao, they stood still and looked at her again. Their eyes first showed surprise, and then anger.
What surprised me was how beautiful Jiang Qiao was, like a fairy. What angered me was that I had never suffered such a loss before, being pointed at and scolded by such a young girl.
Besides, they didn't care who Jiang Qiao was. The little vixen was young and probably looked inexperienced. If she faced these veterans, they could easily verbally abuse her.
So, the old women put their hands on their hips and started cursing, "Where did this little slut come from, running wild in front of us? Doesn't she know where she is?"
Sisters, get them!
The old ladies next to her were hurling even harsher insults. Jiang Qiao sighed, shook her head, and with a flick of her hand, the old ladies stopped in their tracks, unable to utter a single curse.
The people looked at each other as if they had seen a ghost—terrified, horrified, their eyes darting around, but it was no use; no one came to help them.
The others were bewildered by Jiang Qiao's actions. "What's wrong? What happened? What did you do to them?"
Jiang Qiao turned to the woman who had opened her mouth to ask a question and shouted angrily, "Shut up, all of you! If you dare to utter another word, you'll be just like them!"
"Over there, are we still fighting? If you want to fight, come on, fight with me—"
Ning Ailin, who was being protected by Fu Lin and the others, burst into tears upon seeing Jiang Qiao. People from her maternal family had come. Although she was her nephew's wife, she was still from her maternal family. She had hoped that her younger brother and the others would come, but now she couldn't count on them.
Everyone in the courtyard was shocked by Jiang Qiao's actions. They had never seen anything like it before and wondered what methods Jiang Qiao had used to shut those old ladies up.
"Come on, someone tell me what happened. Why did you hit her?"
The woman Jiang Qiao pointed at trembled in fear. She waved her hand, saying, "It has nothing to do with me. I didn't hit her."
Jiang Qiao snorted, "You didn't hit it? Are you sure? I'll settle the score with you later."
Turning to Ning Hao, he asked, "What exactly happened? Are the divorce proceedings complete?"
Ning Hao nodded. "Everything's been signed. The child doesn't want to stay with their mother. My aunt came back to get some things, but these women wouldn't let her. They're all old ladies, and there's nothing I can do about it—"
Ning Hao now truly understood what Jiang Qiao and the others were talking about at home. He had no way to use his strength against these elderly women, and he couldn't reason with them.
Jiang Qiao glanced at the men standing in the courtyard. "What's going on here? Who's in charge? Someone from the Wang family, come out and give me an answer. How do you want to resolve this matter today? Through official channels or smuggling?"
The men remained silent, and even the women were quiet. Although they knew that Jiang Qiao was the wife of the Ning family's son, they hadn't inquired about who she was or what her situation was.
All they knew was that this woman was not to be trifled with. Didn't they see that the old ladies standing over there hadn't uttered a sound or moved an inch?
