Chapter 360 Father and Son Face to Face

Jiang Qiao didn't waste any more words with Zhao Jianjun, got on her bike and rode off. Zhao Jianjun shook his head; he understood Jiang Qiao a little better, she was acting all mysterious.

Turning his head, he saw Yin Jiaqi standing next to a tall, handsome boy.

His face darkened. "Jiaqi, why aren't you home for dinner yet?"

When Yin Jiaqi saw Zhao Jianjun, she immediately smiled and said, "I'm about to go back. I have something to talk to my classmate about. Jianjun, you go ahead."

Zhao Jianjun glared at Gu Zhixuan. Where did this guy come from?

"We'll talk about it when you get back. Jiaqi, come on up, I'll take you home."

Gu Zhixuan didn't want to waste any more time; he still had to go back and help his sister cook. "Alright, we'll talk about it later. I'm leaving now."

Gu Zhixuan had heard his sister talk about the relationship between Zhao Jianjun and Yin Jiaqi a long time ago. After the start of the semester, he had also seen Zhao Jianjun wandering around their class, but he really didn't like him.

Of course, he didn't have any feelings for Yin Jiaqi. If this girl hadn't dragged him into discussing the class meeting, he wouldn't have bothered wasting his time.

Zhao Jianjun asked with a slightly sour tone, "Who is he? Is he from your class?"

Yin Jiaqi didn't think anything of it and jumped into Zhao Jianjun's car. "Our class's academic representative, isn't there a class meeting? A few of us are discussing it. Let's go, have lunch at my house. My mom has been nagging me about it for ages."

Zhao Jianjun didn't stand on ceremony. "Okay, I'll come to your house for lunch. I haven't had Auntie's cooking in a long time."

When Gu Zhixuan returned, Jiang Qiao was already cooking. He told his sister about his encounter with Zhao Jianjun.

"Big brother, stay away from Yin Jiaqi in the future. Zhao Jianjun is a very calculating person. Since you're not interested in that girl, just keep your distance. As for what to discuss, you class committee members can do it together. As long as you're not alone with her, it'll be fine."

Gu Zhixuan nodded. "I don't care. I need to study hard. I still need to go to university. Grandpa said that my main focus now is on studying. We can talk about other things later."

When Gu Zhihong returned, the three siblings ate together while Jiang Qiao talked about some things the two of them should pay attention to.

Because she was being targeted, she had to give the two people a proper talking-to and a reminder to be more careful when going out in the future, not to talk to strangers, and never to go with anyone. She also told them not to believe anything anyone said.

"Huh? It can't be that bad, can it?"

Jiang Qiao said in a serious tone: "What do you mean it's not that serious? It's too serious. You guys haven't experienced it. Do you still remember what happened in Milan last time?"

Who would have thought that a teacher was actually an enemy spy? So, you all better watch yourselves from now on, and—”

Jiang Qiao hesitated for a moment. "I've offended someone, but I don't know who it is. Last time I went to treat someone, someone blocked my way late at night, but I managed to take them down."

"You two can't try this. You need to hone your skills first, or you'll be the ones who suffer."

Jiang Qiao casually gave the two men some examples, hoping to make a lasting impression on them.

“I understand. I won’t go with them no matter who asks me to. If I have to go, I’ll go with an adult. Don’t worry, we won’t go to places with few people. We’ll go home together.”

"Joe, are you sure you can manage on your own? Why don't you stay here? You could keep me company."

Jiang Qiao shook her head. "I'm fine, I'm just worried about the people around me. Tell your uncle and the others to be careful. Those bad people are like rats, you never know which rat hole they'll crawl out from."

"Sister, I'll be good. I'll come back with my classmate."

After giving his two brothers some instructions, Jiang Qiao enjoyed his meal much more.

However, compared to Jiang Qiao's side, Ning Hao's side was in a much worse situation. This time, it wasn't actually his request to come; it was Song Shutian who directly sent people over.

It wasn't that he didn't want to avenge his mother, but his mother hadn't mentioned any substantial evidence in her diary, only suspicion.

So when he came back this time, the first thing he did was talk to his father. As for Tong Yun, Song Shutian and his people would handle it.

Ning Boyuan never dreamed that the father and son would one day become like this, facing each other, but having nothing left to talk about.

He asked a dry, curt question: "Why did you come back if you're not going to school?"

Ning Hao stared at Ning Boyuan and looked him up and down. In his childhood memories, his father was a figure as imposing as a mountain. Unfortunately, after his mother passed away, his father became like a river, someone he could neither get close to nor rely on. The fatherly love he once had was like flowing water, disappearing without a trace.

Ning Boyuan felt uneasy under his son's gaze. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Ning Hao sighed, "You know about my mother's situation. I just came back to ask how your investigation is going. After all, she used to be your wife."

Ning Boyuan gave a bitter laugh. "What do you take me for, the police? Even if they are the police, they haven't found anything yet. If they can't find anything, where am I supposed to find anything?"

A playful smirk played on Ning Hao's lips. "So you mean you didn't do anything?"

Ning Boyuan was inexplicably annoyed by his son's attitude. "What do you mean? Do you think I don't want to investigate? So many years have passed, and there are so many things to investigate. How do you expect me to investigate?"

And what kind of attitude is this? How dare you talk to me like that?

Ning Hao chuckled, "Heh, you really are my good father. You can never let go of your fatherly status. Since you're so willing to be someone's father, why can't you just be a good father?"

How much I suffered at the hands of that woman back then, and how did you react when I told you about it?

Now I realize you're my dad. Why didn't you act like a good father back then?

If my mother were still alive, would I be in this situation now? I could have gone to university, but I ended up as a temporary worker. I have a home, but I can't go back. Over the years, when you celebrate the New Year and your family is reunited, have you ever thought about the son left behind with your parents?

Since you gave birth to me, why can't you treat me well? Even if you don't have time to come see me, you could at least send me something to comfort me.

It's a pity that you haven't sent me anything all these years, not even living expenses, right?

Ning Hao's words enraged Ning Boyuan. "You bastard, if I hadn't raised you, would you have grown up? Would you have been able to join the army and go to military academy?"

Ning Hao sneered, tears welling in his eyes. "You support me? You have no shame. When my mother was alive, she supported me. When she's gone, my grandparents support me. What does it have to do with you?"

Don't mention that to me. I can join the army anytime I want. I got into military school on my own merit; it has nothing to do with you.
