Chapter 260 Old Matters Revisited

Most of the people in the courtyard looked down on Niu Guihua. Before they came, the courtyard was so quiet and peaceful.

But ever since this family arrived, they've been making a ruckus all day long, even attracting thieves. Nobody wants to get along with them.

In Jiang Qiao's view, this was just dogs fighting. Niu Guihua was a bad person, and her cousin from the countryside wasn't necessarily a good person either. Anyway, she didn't like either of them.

Just when Jiang Qiao thought the farce was about to end, a loud howl suddenly came from inside the house, and Jiang Qiao could hear the sound of kicking and hitting.

Then Wang Dahua's cousin spoke up, "Help! They're going to beat me to death!"

People who were about to disperse outside rushed back inside. Jiang Qiao and Ning Hao didn't move, and there was another person who didn't move either, and that was Wang Tiezhu.

In Jiang Qiao's opinion, this guy really has a bad heart. If you can't help him, fine, but don't make those sarcastic remarks.

"Oh dear, we finally get to see some excitement, so we should at least get our fill of it."

Jiang Qiao particularly disliked people like that. Ning Hao glared at him and said, "Wang Tiezhu, are you so excited about fighting? How about we go out and have a one-on-one spar?"

Wang Tiezhu shrank his neck and said awkwardly, "Why should we practice? We have no grudges against each other. Let's not fight. Let's just watch the show."

Jiang Qiao leaned closer and whispered in Wang Tiezhu's ear, "If you two don't have any, then what about us? Do you remember the time our window was broken?"

These one sentence terrified Wang Tiezhu, turning his face deathly pale. "You, you—"

Jiang Qiao grabbed Wang Tiezhu's finger that was pointing at her, her tone fierce, "You really think nobody knows? You better watch yourself from now on, don't anger me, or we'll settle all our scores, old and new. Wang Tiezhu, you better control yourself and your family, or you'd better watch your neck and wait for me—"

Just those words terrified Wang Tiezhu so much that he turned around and ran home. He was like he'd seen a ghost. Nobody knew about this, and it had been years. Why was Jiang Qiao suddenly bringing it up?

But then he regretted it. Why did he run away? Running away would only prove that he was the one who did it.

He plopped down on the ground. He had planned everything, but he hadn't expected Jiang Qiao to bring this up today.

He lowered his head and thought for a while, then turned around and went back. He needed to explain this to Jiang Qiao properly. Anyway, neither the girl nor Wang Dahua was in any trouble. Even if he had to kneel down and beg for her forgiveness, he didn't want this matter to escalate. He was worried that Jiang Qiao might harm his son. Jiang Qiao was no longer the same Jiang Qiao. This girl was quite strange, and it was best not to provoke her if possible.

Seeing Wang Tiezhu return, Jiang Qiao smiled. This man really is flexible and adaptable; it seems he's figured things out.

When Wang Tiezhu pulled her outside, he immediately knelt down before Jiang Qiao and said, "Jiang Qiao, I took responsibility for my actions. I did what I did back then. You can't involve my family because of this. You can hit me or scold me as you please. I won't say a word."

Jiang Qiao stared at Wang Tiezhu, looking him up and down. "Wang Tiezhu, it's been so long, why are you only now thinking of apologizing to me? If I hadn't said anything, did you think you could have gotten away with it?"

Wang Tiezhu dared not lie to Jiang Qiao. He couldn't figure this little girl out, so he chose to tell the truth.

"Yes, nothing happened, so I didn't think about what to do. Of course, if something happens, I've already thought it through. I want the house, but I'll also support the people. All I want is their house."

You know how tight housing is in the city with three sons. You also know how difficult it is. Now that the kids are grown, I have to find a solution, but my salary alone isn't enough. So, I thought of taking a shortcut—”

Jiang Qiao snorted coldly, stepped forward and grabbed Wang Tiezhu by the neck. Her sharp eyes were like knives as she looked at him, and she unconsciously tightened her grip. Even Wang Tiezhu trembled slightly and had difficulty breathing.

"You've told the truth. You should be glad you didn't hide anything from me today, otherwise you'd be in big trouble."

Wang Tiezhu, I'll remember this incident. If you ever dare to scheme against me again, we'll settle all our scores, old and new.

"Remember this, you owe me. You'll have to pay me back slowly if I need anything in the future. Also, keep an eye on your three kids. If they dare to cause any more trouble, you know what kind of person I am, so you better remember that. Alright, you can go now—"

Jiang Qiao really wanted to kill Wang Tiezhu with one slap, but if she did, she would be in trouble. Considering his sincere attitude in admitting his mistake, she decided to let him off for now and see how he behaved later.

However, she was genuinely upset. When her suspicions became reality, it would be a lie to say she didn't hate him. Although she wasn't Jiang Qiao, that child had lost his life because of Wang Tiezhu. It wasn't that she didn't want to take revenge, but that she didn't have the chance. That was what frustrated her the most.

Wang Tiezhu broke out in a cold sweat. He could sense the murderous intent in Jiang Qiao's tone. He was truly glad that he had chosen to tell the truth.

He didn't think Jiang Qiao was bluffing him. This little girl might not seem to interact much with everyone, but she was quite capable. He felt that killing his whole family wouldn't be difficult for her at all.

He bowed deeply to Jiang Qiao and said, "Jiang Qiao, I was wrong. I will not make the same mistake again. Don't worry, I will remember this kindness. I will definitely repay your magnanimity when I have the chance."

Wang Tiezhu left, and Ning Hao emerged from the shadows. "Qiao'er, are you just going to let him go like that?"

Jiang Qiao gave a wry smile. "What can we do?"

Ning Hao touched his nose. "Yeah, it's easy to kill him, but it doesn't seem worth getting your hands dirty with his blood. Let's keep a small record of this and settle things later. Come on, don't get cold."

Jiang Qiao was in a bad mood and didn't bother to go check on things. Since Wang Dahua was fine, she didn't want to get involved in the Jiang family's affairs. She didn't care who lived or died, and even if others talked about it, it wouldn't affect her.

Ning Hao, however, muttered to her as they walked, "I really didn't realize that none of the Jiang family's children are easy to deal with. I thought the younger ones would be better, but alas, it seems they're all in cahoots. They really went all out against that old lady. If everyone hadn't gone in, someone might have died tonight. Luckily, you left the Jiang family—"

Jiang Qiao sighed, "So what if they're all from the same nest? Their own family doesn't mind, especially Wang Dahua, she really likes her. Besides, her cousin is a bit outrageous, they haven't seen each other for years. You'd think that coming at this time would be a miracle if no one thought of it."
