Chapter 113: You Dare to Steal
Xue reached out and tapped Su Nuan's forehead. "You've already brought back such a big wild boar. That completes your work for this month. So, leave things like felling trees to men."
"We're going to live here for a very long time. Don't be so anxious to take on everything. You're a human, not a god."
Su Nuan smiled awkwardly. She didn’t think too much about it. She just didn’t want to be idle.
Xue said, "If you feel bored and have nothing to do, then do what you want to do instead of working."
Su Nuan nodded, "Okay, I understand."
Xue smiled gently, "Okay, go to sleep."
Su Nuan responded, "Okay."
She reached out and covered the night-shining pearl that served as a lamp with a piece of cloth. Since she didn't have to work herself, she decided to go find some black stones. After all, the wood she had cut was damp and difficult to burn.
She was thinking about some problems, and gradually felt sleepy and fell asleep.
The next day, Su Nuan got up and prepared to get some snow to boil water to wash her face, but she was stunned as soon as she opened the door.
Xiaotian and Lingyun were standing in the yard, chatting together.
There were two people lying in front of them, their faces invisible on the ground. Were they attracting thieves?
Su Nuan walked out, and before she had time to look at the two people, the horse and the donkey ran out, and their two long faces came in front of Su Nuan, clearly trying to take credit.
"Okay, okay, you've done a great job. I'll give you some extra food later. Now go back."
A donkey and a horse walked back in small steps, with their heads held high and full of pride.
When Ling Yun saw Su Nuan, he immediately grabbed her sleeve and said, "Sister-in-law, there are bad guys, Zhao Cai Jin Bao, beat them up."
Su Nuan was stunned. "To bring in wealth and treasure?"
Ling Yun nodded seriously, "Brother Xiaotian said this is a very good word, perfect for naming a horse and a donkey."
Su Nuan pointed at another horse and asked, "Where is it?"
Ling Yun glanced at it with disdain, "Its name is Sandai."
Su Nuan: “…”Okay.
She used her kick to turn the person on the ground over. He wasn't dead yet, but his ribs must have been broken.
Among the two, there was Su Liren. There was a circle of teeth marks on both sides of his face. They must have been bitten by Zhao Cai Jin Bao. It was very funny.
Su Nuan suppressed a laugh and said, "I'm going to report it to the police. There's a thief here."
Having said that, she walked out.
Xue, who came out later, saw the two people on the ground. She didn't say anything, but dug out some meat from the snow pile nearby and stuffed it into Su Liren's arms.
Xiaotian raised his eyebrows. This aunt is really capable. They say that if you catch a thief and seize the stolen goods, now there is evidence.
Su Nuan called Li Shitou over, and Li Shitou brought two of his men with him.
He said with a stern face, "Drag these two away. Life is hard for everyone right now, and yet they dare to steal."
Su Liren slowly woke up when he was being pulled. He shouted, "What are you doing? Let me go."
Li Shitou sneered: "You guys are stealing and you think you have the right to do that?"
Su Liren shouted, "This is the wild boar my daughter killed. I'm her father, so what's wrong with me coming here to get some meat?"
Su Nuan spread her hands and said, "I don't admit it. This is a village of prisoners. Is there any more severe punishment?"
Li Shitou, of course, knew about the grudge between Su Liren and Su Nuan. He laughed and said, "If a prisoner commits another crime, it's adding insult to injury. So if he's going to be sent to hard labor, he'll be punished by being forced to mine stones to build a house next year."
Su Nuan nodded, "This is good, take it away."
Li Shitou leaned over and asked quietly, "Aunt, did you beat them?"
Su Nuan shook her head. "They came in to steal at night, and my donkey and horse kicked them. So? Am I responsible for this?"
Li Shitou shook his head repeatedly, "No, no, no, why aren't the donkey and horse braying? How about I find you a dog?"
Su Nuan had this idea in mind, so she nodded and said, "Okay, but there are very few puppies in winter. I don't want to raise an adult. They will become attached to their owners and I won't be able to keep them familiar."
Li Shitou thought about it and agreed. Dogs don't give birth in winter because the puppies won't survive.
"I'll go and ask around."
Su Nuan looked into the distance and muttered to herself, "I heard there are snow wolves here. I'll go look for them and get a few wolf cubs."
Li Shitou, "..."
She is worthy of being my aunt, so awesome.
The morning incident passed quickly. After Su Nuan washed up and had breakfast, she went out on horseback.
The donkey was having fun in the yard, and it was responsible for guarding the house.
This time, Su Nuan went to the man's body specifically to take a look. His body had been gnawed beyond recognition. The claw marks around it looked like those of a dog, or possibly a wolf.
This time she ran to the top of the mountain in one breath. Standing on the top, she found that there were endless trees stretching ahead. However, the mountains in the distance were much greener than here. Maybe there was something over there that could generate heat.
This aroused Su Nuan's interest, and she immediately went down the mountain to check it out.
But she stopped halfway up the mountain because there was a strange building at the foot of the mountain.
If you look closely, you will see that it is a simple house built with grass and wood, supported by a big tree.
In the middle of the group of houses was an open space with a huge bonfire burning.
There was someone walking around there, and his figure looked just like the one he had killed.
Su Nuan asked in her heart: "Space Spirit, can you understand what they are saying?"
The space spirit said, "I see, but I think you are asking about the language of the locals here, right? Sorry, I don't understand."
These people are not primitive people. They can make simple clothes and weapons.
The Space Spirit said, "Try this."
Su Nuan's hand sank, and a bamboo tube appeared. "What is this?"
The space spirit replied, "Telescope, point the thick end towards the house."
Su Nuan immediately did as she was told and was surprised to find that this thing allowed her to see the situation in the tribe very clearly, and even the expressions on those people's faces.
It was unknown what those people were talking about, and Su Nuan looked elsewhere.
It was pitch black inside the building and nothing could be seen, but outside their house there were several large cages with wild animals in them. The animals were lying there motionless and it was difficult to see what they were.
Su Nuan was a little tempted. If she took these wild beasts away and raised them in the space, she would have enough to eat for a long time.
She was a person of action and did whatever she thought of, so she took a detour down the mountain.
When she reached the foot of the mountain, Su Nuan discovered that the houses here were more than ten feet high.
The house was built very casually, but Su Nuan didn't pay attention to it and went straight to the cage where the wild beasts were kept.
The cages were made of tree trunks as thick as thighs, stuck deep into the ground.
Maybe the animals inside noticed someone and looked up.
Su Nuan looked directly into the eyes of a black bear, and the black bear was actually scared and covered its face with its paws.
The animal in the cage next to it looked a little strange, completely black with spots. It didn't look up, but just stared at Su Nuan coldly with its pair of green eyes.
Su Nuan touched her nose and asked, "Space Spirit, do you know these animals?"
