Chapter 86 A Different Possibilities

Chapter 86 A Different Possibilities

I sprinted into the teaching building and finally shook off the security guard behind me.

Jiang Wan leaned against the stairs, bent over, and gasped for breath, "...I can't run anymore."

"It's alright." Zhou Chong gently patted her back to help her catch her breath. "The security guards didn't catch up."

"Phew...that's good." Jiang Wan straightened up, patted her chest and smoothed it, looking like she had just escaped a disaster.

It's funny, even though she's already twenty-eight years old, older than that security guard, when the flashlight shone on her, Jiang Wan actually panicked like a high school student.

Besides, he was just a patrolling security guard, not the dean of students catching young lovers. What was she afraid of?

As she calmed her breathing, she glanced at Zhou Chong beside her and couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"What are you laughing at?" Zhou Chong asked, bewildered.

Jiang Wan laughed for a while, clutching her stomach, before finally speaking, panting, "Do you think if we get caught by the security guards and they report us to Director Tan, will we be used as a typical case for openly skipping the first evening self-study session of the grade?"

Zhou Chong smiled wryly and laughed along with her, "Let's go back to the classroom."

"Okay." Jiang Wan suppressed her smile and started walking up the stairs.

A gust of wind swept through the corridor behind her, and she felt a chill on the back of her neck before suddenly sneezing.

Achoo!

"Are you alright?" Zhou Chong asked with concern.

"It's nothing." Jiang Wan rubbed her nose and continued walking uphill. "My nose is just a little itchy."

Zhou Chong nodded and slowly walked up the stairs with her.

As Jiang Wan walked up to the fourth floor and through the corridor, she sneezed several times in a row.

Zhou Chong had a gut feeling that something was wrong. "Did you catch a cold from the wind?"

When the two of them came out of the classroom, they ran in such a hurry that they didn't have time to put on their coats. Jiang Wan and he were both only wearing thin sweatshirts.

The wind was strong by the lake, but Zhou Chong didn't feel cold. However, Jiang Wan's constitution was different from his.

Springtime brings large temperature differences between day and night, with low nighttime temperatures. She ran back against the wind just now, so I'm afraid she might catch a cold.

"I don't think so." Jiang Wan sniffed. "I just sneezed a few times, but I don't have any other symptoms. I don't feel cold, I don't have a runny nose, and my throat doesn't hurt."

Hearing her say that, Zhou Chong felt relieved for the time being.

Back in the classroom, the first evening self-study session had already ended.

As soon as Sun Qianyu saw the two of them, she leaned back, crossed her chair legs, and swayed back and forth, blocking their way back to their seats.

"What are you doing?" Jiang Wan glanced at her.

Sun Qianyu crossed her arms, her teasing gaze sweeping between the two of them. "You skipped the entire evening self-study session without even bringing a book. Where did you go?"

Jiang Wan glanced at Zhou Chong beside her, then turned her face away and quietly stuck out her tongue at Sun Qianyu, "Something's up, why are you asking so many questions?"

"Can't I even ask?" Sun Qianyu frowned. "Wanwan, you're getting bolder and bolder. Running away with Zhou Chong in front of the whole class, aren't you afraid of being gossiped about..."

"Eh eh eh!"

Seeing that Sun Qianyu was speaking without thinking, Jiang Wan quickly covered her mouth with her hand, turned her head and winked at Zhou Chong, signaling him to go back to his seat first.

Zhou Chong didn't say anything, as if he hadn't heard what Sun Qianyu had just said. He nodded and returned to his seat.

Jiang Wan breathed a sigh of relief, lowered her hand, and whispered to Sun Qianyu, "Watch your words."

"Now you're worried I won't watch my words?" Sun Qianyu found it amusing and shrugged. "How could you be so bold just now? Others were too far away to see clearly, but I saw it all—your hands, just like that..."

Sun Qianyu lowered her voice, raised both hands, and grasped her left wrist with her right hand. "You're holding him like this, holding him really tightly."

"Ahem." Jiang Wan looked away somewhat embarrassed. "Well... what's wrong?"

Sun Qianyu was still worried about Jiang Wan, after all, she didn't look too good before she and Zhou Chong ran out of the classroom.

But now it seems that Jiang Wan has returned to joking around with her, so everything should be fine.

She relaxed, chuckled, leaned close to Jiang Wan's ear, nudged her shoulder, and teased, "Hey, seriously, you two were out for so long, I don't believe you didn't do anything."

“Hmm…” Jiang Wan rolled her eyes, grabbed Sun Qianyu’s right hand, and held it together with her left hand. “It changed from this to this.”

"Oh my god!" Sun Qianyu exclaimed, raising her clasped hands excitedly. "It's gotten like this?"

Jiang Wan raised an eyebrow. "It's alright."

They just ran downstairs hand in hand. She even hugged Zhou Chong in the grove by the lake earlier.

Afraid that telling Sun Qianyu would frighten her, he decided not to say it.

She patted Sun Qianyu on the shoulder and said, "Good luck to you too. I'm going back to my seat now."

After saying that, she turned around, tossing her ponytail behind her head, and walked briskly to her seat.

Sun Qianyu swallowed hard, silently released her hands, sat back down in her chair, glanced at the empty seat next to her, and blushed slightly.

Jiang Wan sat back down next to Zhou Chong and saw the test paper that hadn't been discussed yet spread out on the table.

She turned her head, intending to ask Zhou Chong to explain the problem to her, when she glanced to her right and suddenly remembered something. "By the way, after you gave up your recommendation spot, did you give it to Shi Leyao in the order of priority?"

"Hmm." Zhou Chong nodded, then looked up at Shi Leyao sitting to his right. "I wonder how her written test went. If there were no problems, she should be going to Beijing for an interview in a couple of days."

"Wait, in a couple of days?" Jiang Wan was taken aback.

Jiang Shengming and Cheng Rui have both gone to Beijing today. Sun Qianyu had mentioned before that they both had interviews tomorrow, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon.

She didn't notice it at the time, but now that she thinks about it, does this mean that Jiang Shengming and Cheng Rui both applied to Tsinghua University?

As far as I remember, Peking University's independent admissions interviews were indeed two days later than Tsinghua University's.

But she couldn't remember the specifics.

"Did Shi Leyao apply to Peking University?" Jiang Wan asked.

“Hmm.” Zhou Chong replied, “After I gave up my recommendation spot, Lao Fan asked Jiang Shengming and Shi Leyao about their wishes again. Later, Jiang Shengming applied to Tsinghua University, and Shi Leyao applied to Peking University.”

Jiang Wan slowly turned her head and looked at Shi Leyao's back as she did her homework. She remembered the bright light in Shi Leyao's eyes on the day of the self-enrollment information session.

Zhou Chong filled in the gap between her dream school and reality, regardless of whether it was because of him or not.

But for Shi Leyao, this was a stroke of luck.

She believed in Shi Leyao, that all her previous efforts had not been in vain, and that she would definitely pass the written test and the interview without any problems.

Jiang Wan gently curved the corners of her mouth, withdrew her gaze, and turned to look at Zhou Chong, "Thank you for giving Shi Leyao a chance to fulfill her dream."

Zhou Chong chuckled, "She should thank herself; I didn't do anything."

Jiang Wan shook her head, offering no further explanation, but simply repeated, "Thank you, Zhou Chong."

Thank you for giving the future a different possibility.
