Chapter 3 Zhou Chong in his youth

Chapter 3 Zhou Chong in his youth

After breakfast, Jiang Wan went back to her room to change into her school uniform, tied her long hair into a ponytail, tidied up her textbooks and papers on her desk, and went out to school.

My home is very close to the school. I just crossed one intersection and could see the gate of Lincheng No.1 Middle School in the distance.

Many students, dressed in the same blue and white school uniform as her, rushed into the school gate like sardines in a can.

If Jiang Wan still felt a little unreal about being reborn and returning to her senior year of high school when she was at home just now, then this was a different story.

Now, as she walks step by step toward the school gate, the feeling of returning to high school is incredibly real.

There was an electronic screen at the school gate, playing the school's promotional video on a loop. Jiang Wan walked to the screen and looked up at the upper right corner.

That's where the date and time are displayed.

Thursday, December 5, 2013.

6:50.

Once again, it was confirmed that she had returned to ten years ago.

No, to be precise, it's been more than ten years and a few months.

She is now seventeen years old and in her first semester of senior year in high school.

Jiang Wan stared at the electronic screen for a while, her thoughts drifting, when she suddenly heard someone call out to her: "Hey, you over there!"

Jiang Wan snapped out of her daze and, following the direction of the sound, saw a woman wearing a red armband standing at the school gate.

The woman was dressed in a business suit with a camel-colored overcoat, and wore gold-rimmed glasses. She was dressed intellectually and elegantly, but her expression was serious.

She looked like a teacher at the school, but she didn't recognize her.

Jiang Wan pointed to herself and slowly walked over. "Are you calling me?"

"Yes, they're calling you." The woman adjusted her glasses and glanced at the time on the electronic screen. "The preparatory bell will ring in five minutes. Aren't you going in?"

The preparatory bell... Ah, I've long forgotten.

Jiang Wan nodded with an embarrassed smile, "Thank you for reminding me, teacher. I'll go in right away."

After saying that, she took off running into the school gate.

She ran all the way to the teaching building, then stopped.

The sound of students reading aloud filled the air, but she didn't know where her classroom was.

On her way to school, she tried hard to recall various things that happened during her senior year of high school.

She remembered that she was in Class 1 of Senior Three, but she really couldn't remember where the classroom for Class 1 of Senior Three was.

I glanced at the classroom sign next to the stairwell: Class 5, Grade 11.

Okay, it seems the first floor is the territory of the first-year high school students.

Jiang Wan rushed up to the third floor.

The teaching building of Lincheng No.1 Middle School is a U-shaped building with classrooms on both the north and south sides, which is enough to accommodate an entire grade. Therefore, Jiang Wan deduced that the senior year should be on the third floor.

After she ran up to the third floor, she did see several senior high school classrooms, but after walking half a circle along the corridor, she still couldn't find the nameplate for Class 1 of the senior high school.

The preparatory bell is about to ring, so there's no time for her to slowly explore the campus.

Jiang Wan was anxious when a boy carrying a backpack walked past her. She grabbed the strap of his backpack.

"Excuse me, where is Class 1 of Senior Three?"

The boy stared at her for a few seconds, then a smile appeared on his lips. "Jiang Wan, don't you remember me?"

Jiang Wan:? ? ?

Who are you? You're trying to get close to me right away.

Seeing Jiang Wan's blank expression, Qi Ming chuckled and lowered his head, "You really don't remember me? I didn't get into Class 1, but you shouldn't have forgotten me. We were classmates in the first year of high school, after all."

Jiang Wan was completely confused. She just wanted to ask for directions!

Why is this guy trying to pull a flashback act with her?!

With her current memory, it would be good enough if she could remember all the classmates in her senior year class, let alone her classmates from the first year of high school before the division of arts and sciences. That's really asking too much of her.

Moreover, her current focus is on finding the classroom, not recognizing people!

"Um... excuse me." Jiang Wan curved her lips into what she thought was a sufficiently polite smile. "I still want to ask, where is Class One's classroom...?"

Qi Ming looked up, temporarily ignoring Jiang Wan's confusion about why she didn't remember where her classroom was. His gaze was drawn to the sweet smile on her face, and he subconsciously answered, "Upstairs, the first room on the right."

"Okay, thank you."

Having gotten the answer she wanted, Jiang Wan didn't waste a second and turned to run towards the stairwell.

After running a few steps, the boy's voice rang out behind her, "Jiang Wan, I'm Qi Ming."

Jiang Wan didn't stop running, waving her hand behind her as she ran, "Thank you, Qi Ming."

Qi Ming stood there, watching Jiang Wan's slender figure disappear at the stairwell. He touched the back of his neck sheepishly and walked back to his class with a smile.

-

Jiang Wan ran up the stairs, only to realize that there were no classrooms on the north side of the third floor; that area was the teachers' office area.

Furthermore, to ensure a good learning environment for senior high school students, the school specially arranged for their top-performing classes and experimental classes to be located on the fourth floor, where they would be quiet and undisturbed.

Turning right, Jiang Wan easily found the classroom of Class 1, Grade 12.

After glancing at the nameplate on the door, she silently thanked Qi Ming again in her heart. Thanks to him, she was able to find the classroom before the preparatory bell rang.

Jiang Wan gripped the strap of her backpack, took a deep breath, and tried to adjust her facial expression to make herself look like a genuine high school student.

Just then, the preparatory bell rang.

Jiang Wan stepped into the classroom through the back door, but stopped abruptly when her gaze fell upon the school uniform-wearing boy by the window.

The window wasn't closed properly, and the linen curtains fluttered in the breeze.

The morning sunlight shimmered and fell on the boy's face in front of his desk, casting shadows that made his prominent brow bone stand out even more.

That was Zhou Chong in his youth.
