Chapter 63 I Need You to Teach Me

Chapter 63 I Need You to Teach Me

Throughout the day, Shan Tong only delivered fruit and afternoon tea once in the morning and once in the afternoon, and then she didn't knock on Jiang Wan's door again.

This provided the two of them with a quiet space to study.

After observing Jiang Wan and Zhou Chong for a day, Shan Tong realized that they didn't need anyone to take care of them. So, for the next few days, Shan Tong went to the company with Jiang Ronghai.

I leave the house entirely to my two children, preparing fruit for them before they leave and ordering restaurant meals for them to be delivered at noon.

Sometimes when she went home temporarily, or when she got off work early in the afternoon, she could hear the two of them discussing problems coming from Jiang Wan's room, which made Shan Tong feel very relieved.

Although only Jiang Wan and Zhou Chong were at home these past few days, and her parents seemed to have put their minds at ease with them, Jiang Wan still invited Zhou Chong to her home to study every day instead of going to the city library.

The main reason is that wearing soft loungewear and staying in a warm home is much more comfortable than going to the library to reserve a seat.

Since the goal is to study with Zhou Chong, it doesn't matter where we are. Since we no longer need to hide it from our parents, it's naturally more convenient and comfortable to stay at home.

However, after eating restaurant takeout for several days in a row, even though it was all high-end food from a five-star hotel, Jiang Wan was getting a little tired of it.

No matter how high-end the ingredients and cooking methods are, by the time they arrive at your home, they've lost their wok-fried aroma.

As noon approached, Jiang Wan received a message from Shan Tong in advance, confirming the lunch takeout menu with them. Holding her phone, she hesitated to reply.

Zhou Chong noticed Jiang Wan's lack of interest. "What's wrong?"

"My mom asked if we wanted this for lunch." Jiang Wan turned her phone towards Zhou Chong. "Here, take a look, do you want some?"

Zhou Chong didn't really care what he ate, but he understood the implication in Jiang Wan's languid tone: "You don't want to eat?"

"Hmm." Jiang Wan nodded with a pout. "I've been eating takeout these past few days, and I'm craving some freshly cooked home-style dishes."

Looking at her droopy eyes, Zhou Chong tentatively asked, "Then I'll cook lunch today?"

Jiang Wan's eyes lit up instantly. "Really?"

“Hmm.” Zhou Chong nodded, then said, “However, I need to check what ingredients are in the refrigerator first.”

Jiang Wan nodded hurriedly, got up and pushed open the door, "Okay, let's go take a look."

Zhou Chong stood up, turned around and walked towards the kitchen, and Jiang Wan followed him.

They don't have a nanny here. They usually hire a part-time worker to buy groceries, cook, and clean. With the Lunar New Year approaching, the part-time worker went back to her hometown, so Shan Tong has been cooking for herself these past few days, which is why the refrigerator is well-stocked with ingredients.

Zhou Chong opened the refrigerator, glanced at it briefly, and then named a few dishes: "Braised beef with tomatoes, stir-fried shrimp with snow peas, and a spinach and egg drop soup?"

"Okay." Jiang Wan leaned against the refrigerator door, blinking her starry eyes and nodding vigorously.

Zhou Chong glanced at his watch, then took out the ingredients one by one from the refrigerator. "It's almost time, I'll start cooking."

"Okay." Jiang Wan quickly replied to her mother on her phone that she didn't need to order takeout, then put her phone in her pocket and helped Zhou Chong move the ingredients to the kitchen counter.

"Let me help you." Jiang Wan put down the two tomatoes in her hand, looked at the ingredients piled up on the counter, and thought about what she could do.

"No need, you can just go outside and wait." Zhou Chong had already started washing the beef with practiced ease.

Jiang Wan didn't say anything, but she didn't want to leave right away. She just stood next to Zhou Chong and watched him clean the beef.

Zhou Chong turned off the tap, placed the washed beef on the cutting board, glanced back at Jiang Wan beside him, and chuckled helplessly, "Then can you help cook some rice?"

"Okay." Jiang Wan smiled and said, "I know how to do this."

She jogged to the other side of the counter, took out the inner pot of the rice cooker, then squatted down, opened the rice container in the cupboard, scooped out a cup of rice, and turned to ask Zhou Chong, "Is a cup of rice enough?"

Zhou Chong turned his head and saw Jiang Wan squatting by the cabinet, half of her body hidden by the cabinet door, with only her furry head showing. She held the measuring cup high in her hand and blinked at him.

The kitchen faces south, and the sunlight streaming through the window is wonderful.

Jiang Wan leaned against the window, sunlight streaming down from above, enveloping her in a fuzzy, golden glow.

Golden light seemed to fall into those blinking eyes, making Zhou Chong momentarily dazed.

Bright and radiant, so cute it's almost unfair.

"Isn't that enough?" Jiang Wan asked when he didn't answer. "Then shall I get another cup?"

Zhou Chong snapped out of his daze. "No need, that's enough."

"Oh, okay."

Jiang Wan poured the rice into the inner pot of the rice cooker, then stood up, held the inner pot in both hands, and ran to the sink.

The two rabbit ears hanging from the hood on the back of the shoulder twitched.

Zhou Chong chuckled and looked away. How could even washing rice be so cute?

After rinsing the rice and cooking it, Jiang Wan had nothing else to do. She leaned on the counter with both hands, tilting her head to watch Zhou Chong chop vegetables, arrange them, turn on the stove, and put them in the pot.

It was something that was very down-to-earth, but when he did it, it was as if a celestial being descended to earth, casting a spell with his fingertips and instantly conjuring up a table of delicacies for her.

The tomato beef was stewing in a clay pot, and the steam rising into the air surrounded Zhou Chong, adding a touch of smoky charm.

It's more like a deity descending to earth.

Jiang Wan sniffed, inhaling the sweet and sour aroma of the tomato stewed beef, and thought to herself.

Zhou Chong had already arranged all the other ingredients and was about to go to the refrigerator to get the eggs when he saw Jiang Wan holding an egg in each hand, looking at him with a smile.

"I'll crack the eggs."

As soon as they finished speaking, the two seemed to have thought of something at the same time and spoke in unison.

Zhou Chong: "Let me do it."

Jiang Wan: "This time it will definitely work."

After saying that, Jiang Wan placed the eggs on the counter and turned around to take out a bowl and chopsticks for beating eggs from the cupboard.

When she turned around, the two eggs on the table had already fallen into Zhou Chong's hands.

"Let me do it." Zhou Chong's hands were big; he held two eggs steadily in one hand and stretched out the other to Jiang Wan, wanting to take the bowl and chopsticks from her hands.

Jiang Wan turned to the side, holding the bowl and chopsticks protectively in her arms. "Just let me try one more time, really. This time I definitely won't cause any more trouble."

Zhou Chongwei paused for a second, then smiled softly, "It's not that I'm afraid you'll cause trouble."

He didn't mind breaking a few eggs at his house before, but now that they're at her house, he's worried that it might be a waste.

"Then give me the egg." Jiang Wan stretched out her hands and handed the bowl and chopsticks she was holding to Zhou Chong.

Zhou Chong thought for a moment, then tapped the eggshell on the rim of the bowl. With a crisp cracking sound, the egg liquid flowed cleanly into the glass bowl.

"Okay, now you crack the eggs."

Jiang Wan was stunned for a moment, staring at the clear and distinct egg liquid in the glass bowl, and didn't react for a moment.

Seeing that she hadn't moved for a while, Zhou Chong leaned down and took the chopsticks from her hand. "What's wrong? Do you want me to teach you how to beat eggs?"

Jiang Wan raised her eyes, intending to say no, but when she met Zhou Chongqing's bright gaze, she nodded as if possessed.

"Yes, you need to teach me."
