Chapter 284 Sweet and Sour

"Young talent!" Director Wang said with a smile.

"Young talent! Oh, is Jiang Xun under pressure?" Lin Zhenfang teased Jiang Xun with a smile, "Look, you're our competitor!"

Before Jiang Xun could speak, Master Qin came to his defense: "Old Lin, how do you know this is my apprentice's competitor? What if he is not as good as my apprentice? No, no, no, we can't say that. Maybe he and my apprentice can become good friends!"

Lin Zhenfang laughed and said, "Haven't you heard that saying? There can't be two tigers in one mountain, unless they are one male and one female! You said both of them are young talents, so they must be in competition, right?"

Master Qin waved his hand: "I don't think so! It better not be!"

"I think there's nothing wrong with a competitive relationship, right? Young people should compete with each other, so that they can motivate each other to make progress, right?" said the gray-haired Engineer Liang with a smile.

"You're right!" Director Wang affirmed. Seeing that Jiang Xun had not spoken up to participate in the discussion, he smiled and patted him on the shoulder. "Don't feel pressured! Just do your job well!"

"I understand." Jiang Xun nodded.

The new colleague hasn't arrived yet, so he can't talk about him behind his back. If someone accidentally lets slip a word and the other person hears it, wouldn't that be like scattering a lot of nails for himself? In the end, he would end up stabbing himself in the foot.

...

...

On the way back from work, I saw someone pushing a cart selling candied haws on the side of the road, so I stopped, bought two candied haws, stuck them in front of the handlebars, and took them home.

Jiang Xun had been working overtime at the factory these days and had no time to pick up Ye Li, so she often went home by herself.

Today, he finally finished making the loom that he promised to the villagers of Qingshan Village. It was a happy event, so he wanted to go home and celebrate with Ye Li. This candied haws was her little gift to Ye Li, a reward for her hard work in coming home.

Jiang Xun pushed the cart into the yard, and the two candied haws on the cart immediately attracted the attention of the neighbors.

"Brother Jiang, did you buy candied haws for my sister-in-law?" Daliang was squatting in the yard oiling the bicycle chain. When he saw Jiang Xun coming back, he greeted him with a smile.

Jiang Xun raised the corner of his mouth: "Yes, she is just a little girl who likes to eat these sour things."

Kang Huilian carried a basin of freshly grown mung bean sprouts to the sink to wash. Hearing Jiang Xun's words, she also smiled and said, "Brother Jiang Xun is the one who loves his wife the most in our courtyard! Daliang, did you see that? Learn from him in the future!"

Daliang chuckled: "If you were four years younger than me, I would love you just as much."

Kang Huilian glared at him, and casually ate some mung bean sprouts. When she passed the beam, she kicked him and said, "You can't spit out ivory from a dog's mouth!"

"Angry! Look how angry you are! How petty! Do you want to eat?"

"Yes! Will you buy it for me?"

Daliang stood up, wiped the oil off his hands with a rag, and said to Jiang Xun, "Brother, where are your two strings of candied haws? Can you sell me one? Look, my wife is drooling with envy!"

"Bah! I'm such a loser!" Kang Huilian stretched out her hand and twisted the beam twice, "How dare you ask for that? Why did Brother Jiang Xun buy two? One must be for Ye Li and the other for Jiang Miao!"

"Right, right, right!" Daliang slapped his head, "I lost my mind!"

"Sorry, Daliang, Xiaokang is right. There are two people, one big and one small, in the family, and we can't do without either of them!" Jiang Xun said with a smile.

“Understood.”

As he was talking, Jiang Miao rushed out of the house. Seeing Jiang Xun bought the candied haws, he ran over happily and said, "Uncle, is this candied haws for me?"

Jiang Xun took one down and handed it to her: "Be good, go and eat it!"

Jiang Miao licked a mouthful of the crystal clear sugar residue, her eyes curved into a happy smile. She stood on tiptoe, raised the candied haws high, and tried to bring it to Jiang Xun's mouth: "Uncle, have some too!"

"I don't want to eat it. I don't like it. Miaomiao, eat it."

Jiang Miao withdrew his hand, turned around and ran into the house: "I'll go let grandma taste it!"

Jiang Xun looked at Jiang Miao leaving and a smile appeared on his face: Children are really innocent and cute!

Jiang Xun didn't go back to his room until Jiang Miao entered the house with the remaining candied haws. He saw Ye Li sitting at the table with her head down, sorting out the wool, so he tiptoed over and was about to scare her when he heard Ye Li speak first.

"I heard you come back!"

"Ah? Why don't you cooperate?" Jiang Xun looked regretful.

Just as Ye Li was about to look up, she saw a string of bright candied haws appear in front of her. The hawthorns were bright red, round and plump, and covered with a layer of amber sugar coating, which looked extremely tempting.

She smiled and reached out to take it.

"Do you like it?" Jiang Xun asked.

"Need I ask?" Ye Li brought it to his mouth and bit off the first hawthorn with an unceremoniously click. The sour and sweet taste spread in his mouth with a refreshing coolness, bringing the ultimate enjoyment to his taste buds.

"Is it delicious?" he asked.

Ye Li nodded in satisfaction: "It's delicious, especially delicious!"

"It's delicious, can you give me a bite?" He came closer.

Ye Li bit off another one, chewed it happily, and answered vaguely: "Just now in the yard, Miaomiao gave it to you but you didn't want to eat it, so you insisted on snatching it from me, right?"

"Yes! The one in Miaomiao's hand is not as delicious as the one in Lili's hand!" Jiang Xun grinned and showed a bright smile, "Will you give it to me?"

"Here, eat it!" Ye Li brought the candied haws in his hand to his lips, "You can only eat one!"

Jiang Xun took a look and didn't bite her. Instead, he held the back of her head with his big hands, lowered his head and kissed her. He deftly used the tip of his tongue to hook out some of the crushed hawthorn from her mouth.

"Um..." Ye Li pushed him away, "What are you doing?"

Jiang Xun licked his sweet lips: "It tastes better from my wife's mouth!"

"Don't you find it disgusting?"

"Disgusting? What's disgusting? I don't think so! The thing in my wife's mouth is sweet!"

Ye Li burst out laughing and stuffed the candied haws into his mouth: "Here, eat this! Don't do such cheesy things... I have goose bumps all over my body!"

Jiang Xun also smiled, bit off one and tasted it carefully: "Sour and sweet, this is the taste that Li Li likes!"

“Is it delicious?”

"Um!"

Ye Li was very happy that Jiang Xun recognized what he liked, "There should be no one in the world who doesn't like this, right? It's so delicious, it's irresistible! By the way, why did you think of buying me some candied haws today?"

Jiang Xun: "There are two happy events, no, there are three happy events, do you want to hear about them?"
