I don’t know who was so blind as to shout at Aunt Jiang who had just returned.
When Aunt Liu heard this, she hurried out to see who was so bold as to mock Aunt Jiang in front of her.
Aunt Jiang hid from place to place this morning and went to a place far away from the courtyard to pick up trash. Who knew that she would be discovered by people in the courtyard so soon? She was immediately angry and shouted: "Who said I was picking up trash? Who has eyes on his butt? I was going to get an injection!"
Aunt Jiang didn't pick up anything in the morning, except two Coke cans. When she came back, she had already changed out of her "battle uniform" and put the two cans she picked up in her cloth bag.
Hearing Aunt Jiang's powerful roar, the person who had just mocked her immediately shrank back and dared not say anything more.
Aunt Jiang looked around the courtyard with her eyes wide open, and just in time she saw Aunt Liu peeking out furtively.
"You're so mean, Aunt Liu! It was you who spread the rumor in the compound, wasn't it?" Aunt Jiang threw the cloth bag in her hand to the ground and rushed towards Aunt Liu.
Seeing that Aunt Jiang was like an angry bull, Aunt Liu was afraid that Aunt Jiang would hit her, so she quickly closed the door.
Aunt Jiang rushed in too fast and hit her head on the door. She immediately saw stars and squatted on the ground, covering her head.
...
...
"It's not me! I'm not that bored. What good would it do for me to spread rumors about you in the courtyard?" Aunt Liu leaned against the door, feeling guilty, and quickly explained.
"If not you, who else could it be? You're the most annoying person in this compound! You just keep spewing shit out of your mouth! Hurry up and open the door for me, or I'll kick it down!" Aunt Jiang's carefully guarded self-esteem was trampled underfoot like this, how could she let the other person go.
"Anyway, it wasn't me who said it, why didn't you guess it was Aunt Mu, Aunt Zhang and the others?" Aunt Liu flatly denied that she was the one who spread the news.
Unexpectedly, Aunt Mu happened to pass by Aunt Jiang and heard Aunt Liu throwing dirty water on herself. She was not happy about it.
"It's you, Aunt Liu. As soon as you came back, you called everyone in the compound to listen to your important discovery. You said that Aunt Jiang was picking up garbage." Aunt Mu's voice was not loud, but it was full of weight.
"Aunt Mu, you are so unkind! How could you betray me?"
"Aunt Liu also said that she didn't want us to tell you that it was she who spread the news."
After Aunt Mu finished speaking, she walked away with her hands behind her back, hiding her concerns about fame and fortune.
When Aunt Jiang heard Aunt Mu say that everyone in the hospital knew that she was picking up trash, she wished she could crawl underground and her face turned red with shame.
All the blood rushed to her head, and Aunt Jiang picked up half a brick nearby and banged on Aunt Liu's door.
When others saw this, they just watched the fun. No one dared to step forward to dissuade them, for fear of being implicated by the angry Aunt Jiang.
"I'm telling you, Jiang Chunying, you broke my door, I want you to pay for it! This is a cultural relic that has been passed down from generation to generation!"
"Bullshit!" Jiang Chunying hit the door a few times but failed to open it, so she turned around and swung it, making a hole in the window of Aunt Liu's house.
Accompanied by Aunt Liu's wail, the glass on the window shattered to the ground.
"Jiang Chunying, since you are not a human being, I have nothing to worry about!" Aunt Liu was furious. She opened the door, pushed away Jiang Chunying who was blocking the door, and went to the yard to pick up the cloth bag in Jiang Chunying's hand.
When Jiang Chunying saw that the situation was not good, she immediately turned around and tried to stop Aunt Liu, but Aunt Liu was one step ahead and got the cloth bag.
"Jiang Chunying, you are such a disgrace! Just pick up the trash, but you refuse to admit it and force me to show the evidence!" Aunt Liu said as she poured the contents of the cloth bag onto the ground.
Everything in the cloth bag was poured out, and people who wanted to watch the fun came over.
"It's true what Aunt Liu said. She just went to pick up trash."
"Just pick up the trash, but you're not allowed to say anything. I don't know why you're being so arrogant."
"Aunt Jiang, don't bring back leftovers when you pick up scraps. It's so hot now, the whole compound will stink up!"
Some people took the opportunity to start blaming Aunt Jiang and wanted to stop her from picking up trash.
Seeing that everyone was on her side and scolding Aunt Jiang, Aunt Liu regained her temper. She puffed out her chest, put her hands on her hips, and said to Aunt Jiang, "See? The people have sharp eyes."
Aunt Jiang looked at the crowd of people surrounding her and blaming her. Her head was completely foggy.
She felt like she had been stripped naked and had lost all her self-respect and dignity.
"Don't bully my grandma like this!"
"Grandma, we will protect you!"
Niu Xin and Niu Rong rushed out of Zhao Xingmei's house. The two little guys protected Aunt Jiang and stared angrily at the group of adults who were watching with their two pairs of childish eyes.
"My granddaughter!"
Aunt Jiang never expected that when she was humiliated, the first people to rush out to protect her were the two little granddaughters whom she disliked the most.
Aunt Jiang squatted on the ground with tears in her eyes, held the two little ones in her arms and began to sob.
"All of you, scat! Stop laughing at other people's jokes!" Jiang Hao also ran over and stretched out his arms to block Niu Xin and Niu Rong, like a little guard protecting a princess.
"Listen to my brother! My brother is right!" Jiang Li still had hawthorn candy in her mouth and mumbled incoherently.
Seeing several children running over to protect Aunt Jiang, the adults stopped saying anything and prepared to leave.
But suddenly the stinky smell appeared again, and an indescribable sour smell filled the entire courtyard.
"Oh my God, why are there maggots in the fish I pickled? What should I do... Ugh..." Aunt Liang's vomiting sounds were heard immediately.
After hearing Aunt Liang's scream, everyone understood that Aunt Jiang did not bring the leftovers back to the yard and they had misunderstood.
"Let's go, let's go."
“Nothing to see.”
When everyone realized that they had wrongly blamed Aunt Jiang, their reactions were surprisingly consistent and they all walked away as if nothing had happened.
"Jiang Chunying, remember to compensate me for the glass in my house!" Aunt Liu said this and followed the main force to retreat.
"Compensate you for the glass? Bah!" Aunt Jiang spat at Aunt Liu as she left.
"Aunt Jiang, stop squatting on the ground and go home quickly." Ye Li picked up the cloth bag on the ground and put all the things scattered on the ground into it for Aunt Jiang.
"Niu Xin, Niu Rong, let's go home."
Aunt Jiang took the two children back to the house, and Ye Li and the two children followed.
Ye Li returned the cloth bag to Aunt Jiang. Aunt Jiang took the bag and said to Ye Li, "Now you have seen enough of the joke."
"Aunt Jiang, do you know what the most disgusting thing about you is?" Ye Li couldn't help but frowned after hearing what Aunt Jiang said.
