Chapter 121 That Day Will Come

"Go where I need to go," Jun Jiuge said, not wanting to look at him any longer.

"Go back to the Jun family?" Yan Luoheng was still not angry. He attributed her injury to himself and said in a rare gentle tone, "Aren't you afraid of arousing their suspicion if you go back like this?"

As he spoke, he handed Jun Jiuge's phone to her, adding, "I didn't answer it for you, so call them back to let them know you're safe."

When she opened the screen, all the calls were from Jun Shu and Qiao Xi, but she didn't seem inclined to reply.

She didn't think it was all a coincidence; on the contrary, she thought it might all be a deliberate arrangement!

"What exactly do you want to do?" Jun Jiuge looked like she saw right through him and said with certainty, "You deliberately had someone spread rumors outside that the item was lost, and that I took it with me."

Yan Luoheng didn't rush to clarify, but slowly said, "The former was intentional, the latter..."

"I don't know why I'm associated with you."

Jun Jiuge didn't believe his explanation and insisted on pinning the blame on him, even insulting him, "You're shameless."

Yan Luoheng didn't explain anything further, but simply emphasized to her, "I will definitely guarantee your safety. I'll stake my life on it."

"Get lost." Jun Jiuge warned him directly as he approached.

However, such warnings were always useless; no matter how hard she tried, she was no match for him.

Yan Luoheng remained unperturbed, seemingly possessing inexhaustible patience towards her today.

Especially when he met her and she fell into his arms, he even felt a kind of fear, a deep fear that she would never wake up again.

Although his worries were unnecessary, he felt a sense of relief seeing her scold him as she had before.

“If you want to leave, I won’t stop you, but I still hope you can recover from your injuries,” Yan Luoheng sincerely advised him.

Jun Jiuge didn't expect him not to stop her, and she didn't know what she was thinking, but she actually cursed at him, "Yan Luoheng, go to hell!"

“That day will come.” Yan Luoheng humbly accepted her suggestion and even extended a friendly invitation to her, “But I will bring Xiao Jiu with me. I would be worried if I left you alone.”

Sparks flew as their eyes met.

Before falling asleep, Qiao Xi habitually snuggled in Qi Jincheng's arms. Sometimes she would play on her phone while snuggling in his arms, and sometimes she would read a book. Qi Jincheng would pay attention to some economic news and keep up with some financial trends.

"Honey, is there any news about Ninth Master?" Qiao Xi asked, still worried about her.

Qi Jincheng shook his head slightly and said, "Not yet."

Qiao Xi sighed unconsciously, "She didn't go to school today, and..."

"And what?" Qi Jincheng closed the tablet and asked seriously.

Qiao Xi wasn't entirely sure about that matter; it was just a guess, so she didn't dare to say anything.

But she confided in her husband, so there was nothing she couldn't say. She told him her suspicions and asked him to help analyze the situation.

Qiao Xi slowly said, "A new professor has joined our school, named Yan Luoheng, he..."

Before she could finish speaking, Qi Jincheng asked with a serious expression, "What's your name?"

Qiao Xi was taken aback by his reaction, and then explained to him in detail, "Yan Luoheng, Yan as in Yama, Luo as in the goddess Luo, and Heng as in perseverance."

"Honey, do you know him?" Qiao Xi thought he might know him.

Qi Jincheng asked nervously, "When did you see him?"

"He just arrived a couple of days ago, and he's teaching our class," Qiao Xi replied truthfully.

"What did you say?" Qi Jincheng was clearly surprised by this.

Qiao Xi asked, puzzled, "Honey, what's wrong?"

Qi Jincheng realized that he had been negligent; he hadn't even known that Yan Luoheng was at Qiao Xi's school and had become her teacher.

That was clearly not a coincidence, much less a chance occurrence!

Qi Jincheng suddenly grabbed Qiao Xi's hand tightly and warned her, "He is not a good person, Xi'er must stay away from him."

It would be difficult to get her to stay home from school for the time being, and Qi Jincheng didn't want to force her, so he could only say things that were not very meaningful.

Seeing Qi Jincheng's nervous expression, she knew that Yan Luoheng was definitely not a good person, but she didn't want Qi Jincheng to worry about her. "I don't know him, and he probably doesn't know who I am either."

“Honey, what I’m trying to say is that it seems like Ninth Master has some kind of relationship with him.”

"Maybe I'm being too sensitive, but every time he's in class, his gaze always unconsciously falls on Ninth Master, and Ninth Master always seems very uncomfortable when he sees him," Qiao Xi speculated based on what she saw and felt.

"Most importantly, Ninth Master didn't go to school today, and he's not here either."

She believes in coincidences, but when two or more coincidences come together, they are no longer coincidences.

Qi Jincheng had never heard anything about Yan Luoheng having anything to do with a woman, but if what Qiao Xi said was true, then it should be his private matter.

If that's the case, then Yan Luoheng is likely after Jun Jiuge, not Xi'er.

Qiao Xi was even more curious about Yan Luoheng's identity at this moment. "Husband, how much do you know about him?"

"You say he's not a good person, but what about his treatment of Ninth Master..."

"Xi'er, don't think too much." Qi Jincheng gently hugged her head, letting her continue to snuggle in his arms, and reluctantly advised her, "Starting tomorrow, let Afei follow you. It's best to stay at home and not go anywhere."

His words made Qiao Xi even more convinced that Yan Luoheng was no ordinary person.

"Ah Jin, who exactly is this Yan Luoheng?" Qiao Xi asked again.

Qi Jincheng didn't seem to intend to tell her, so Qiao Xi took his arm and said coquettishly, "Can you not hide it from me? We agreed at the beginning that we would be honest with each other and not hide anything from one another."

That's right, but Qi Jincheng's first concern was her safety.

However, telling her Yan Luoheng's identity should make her more vigilant.

"Xi'er, have you ever heard of the name Wen Luotian?" Qi Jincheng asked her in a low voice.

This name is known to everyone from centenarians to ten-year-old children; his existence is practically a legend.

When Qiao Xi's generation was young, if they misbehaved, the adults would scare them by saying that Wen Luotian would come and get them. That name became a nightmare for many of her peers when they were young.

However, as he grew older, he learned more about him and could be described as a prodigy who had a thorough understanding of both the legitimate and criminal worlds.

Qiao Xi asked him uncertainly, "Is it Wen Luotian, who once dominated both the underworld and the legitimate world, and then disappeared without a trace?"
