Qi Jincheng's worry and tension began to rise. He dialed Qiao Xi's number again, and this time the call finally went through.
He breathed a sigh of relief and asked her softly, "Xi'er, is the party over?"
But the voice that came from the other end of the phone wasn't Qiao Xi's, but a strange man's voice: "Your Xi'er smashed my bar, I want you to come and redeem her with money right now."
Upon hearing this, Qi Jincheng's pupils constricted sharply. He remained calm and asked in a deep voice, "Where is Xi'er?"
"A luminous pearl." The other person's voice carried a hint of arrogance and annoyance. "Do you need me to send you its location?"
How could it be there?!
Qi Jincheng's face turned extremely ugly. Ignoring everything else, he emphasized, "I want to hear her voice."
The other party snorted coldly and said, "You heard it as soon as you got here. You'd better hurry up, or... I might not be so polite to her!"
After saying that, the other party immediately hung up the call.
Qi Jincheng gripped his phone tightly, his face showing a mixture of worry and anger. Without thinking, he immediately dialed another number.
He stated very directly, "Xi'er is in Ye Lang's hands."
"What's going on?" The voice on the other end of the phone was filled with anger.
Qi Jincheng didn't have time to explain much to him. He didn't know what was going on either. He only knew that Xi'er was in danger and that the most urgent thing was to save her. He said in an unquestionable tone, "Let's go to the Night Pearl first."
While complaining, Li Xiaoxiao ate and drank happily, and ended up drinking too much without realizing it.
The problem is that she really can't hold her liquor. She only drank three bottles of beer before she started to get confused. I don't know if she was drinking alcohol or soft drinks at the bar before.
Li Xiaoxiao chuckled foolishly and muttered to herself, "How come I never noticed before that street food is so delicious?"
"You can try a few more places; they all have different flavors," Qiao Xi strongly recommended.
I remember the first time I ate at a roadside stall was in high school. My best friend took me there. Unfortunately, after graduating from high school, she went abroad, leaving Qiao Xi all alone.
So it's not that she really has no friends; it's just that her only friend has temporarily left, and perhaps one day she will come back.
Li Xiaoxiao shook the beer bottle in her hand, still grinning foolishly, "The beer tastes good too."
Qiao Xi was worried that she had really drunk too much, so she tried to take the bottle from her hand. But then she suddenly slammed the bottle down on the table and gave Jun Jiuge a genuine thumbs up.
"Jiuge, you were so cool just now, especially that kick." While praising her, he stretched out his leg and imitated it.
Qiao Xi felt the same way. Although she was standing next to Jun Jiuge and didn't see the kick directly, it was still very satisfying to see the man fly so far away!
She had felt before that Jun Jiuge was no ordinary person, and now that has been proven true. As for why she came to Peking University... she wondered if she would have the honor of knowing after they became friends.
After praising Jun Jiuge, Li Xiaoxiao then praised Qiao Xi, "And you, Xiao Xixi, I never realized you were so capable when you looked so gentle and weak."
"Do I look that weak?" Qiao Xi found it hard to accept her assessment.
Li Xiaoxiao's gaze swept back and forth between Qiao Xi and Jun Jiuge, and she shook her head repeatedly, saying, "You are different from Jiuge. She looks cool and aloof, while you... are a typical Jiangnan woman."
Qiao Xi had never heard the phrase "woman from Jiangnan" used to describe her before; it was quite a novel idea.
"You were very brave just now." Qiao Xi didn't hold back her praise, and Li Xiaoxiao's performance just now really surprised her. This is what it means to not judge a book by its cover.
Li Xiaoxiao said modestly, "Compared to you, I'm far inferior."
"But I feel so accomplished to have met you all."
"Come on, cheers! From today onwards, we are..." Li Xiaoxiao raised the bottle again, smiling brightly as she suggested, "How about we become sworn brothers?"
Qiao Xi thought the suggestion was good, but she still needed to consult the person who had been silent since ordering a dozen bottles of wine. "Ninth Master, what do you think?"
Li Xiaoxiao, half-awake, heard the unfamiliar address, but she knew Qiao Xi was referring to Jun Jiuge. She asked, puzzled, "What did you call her?"
Qiao Xi deliberately said in a cheesy way, "A nickname."
Jun Jiuge's originally expressionless face changed slightly, perhaps indicating disdain?
Li Xiaoxiao also suddenly shuddered, "How disgusting."
But she then chuckled and said, "But this title sounds really impressive, so I'll call you Ninth Master from now on. You can just call me Xiaoxiao."
“We’ll call you Xiao Xixi then,” she said to Qiao Xi.
Qiao Xi replied without hesitation, "Whatever you like."
Jun Jiuge had already finished six bottles of beer by herself, but she wasn't drunk at all, and her face wasn't flushed at all. She was completely unaffected, just like she had drunk plain water.
I don't know how much of what they said she took to heart.
Qiao Xi's attention turned to Jun Jiuge again, and she asked her expectantly, "Ninth Master, aren't you going to say something?"
After taking another big gulp of wine, Jun Jiuge said coldly, "You are different from me."
“What’s different?” Li Xiaoxiao immediately protested, “You still have two arms and two legs, one face, two eyes, one nose, one mouth, and two ears. As for the rest… I don’t see what you have that we don’t.”
Qiao Xi knew that Jun Jiuge's words didn't mean what Li Xiaoxiao thought, but Qiao Xi was also very curious about exactly what was different about her. Judging from her skills, she was definitely not an ordinary college student.
Jun Jiuge finished the last bottle of wine, got up and left without even saying goodbye.
This time, Qiao Xi didn't stop her. She said to her retreating figure, "See you tomorrow."
When Qiao Xi turned around, she found that Li Xiaoxiao was already slumped over the table. She quickly nudged her, not wanting her to fall asleep like that.
"Li Xiaoxiao, Li Xiaoxiao?"
"What?" Li Xiaoxiao reluctantly raised her head.
Qiao Xi quickly asked her, "Are you going home or back to school?"
Li Xiaoxiao said vaguely, "I'm not staying overnight."
"Where do you live?" Qiao Xi asked again.
“My home…” Li Xiaoxiao staggered to her feet, swaying as she pulled her phone out of her bag and handed it to Qiao Xi, “Can you call the driver for me and ask him to come pick me up?”
Seeing her phone, Qiao Xi suddenly realized she had forgotten to message Qi Jincheng. "Oh no!"
Just as she was about to take out her phone to contact Qi Jincheng, she realized she couldn't find her phone!
