Chapter 94 You Look Alike

That was something Qi Jincheng would always do to her, and now she wanted to try it too. Looking at his distorted features, Qiao Xi found it particularly interesting.

Qi Jincheng let her run wild for a while before finally grabbing her hand and asking her, "What are you feeling wronged about?"

"Have you felt lonely all these years?" Qiao Xi asked cautiously.

But she regretted asking the question as soon as she did; why did she have to bring up such a sensitive topic?

Qi Jincheng looked at Qiao Xi seriously, shook his head slightly and said, "I don't know."

Then I asked her, "What does it feel like to be lonely?"

Qiao Xi never expected him to ask her such a question. Shouldn't loneliness be a human instinct?

Qi Jin seemed to be waiting for Qiao Xi's answer, and Qiao Xi told him just as seriously, "If I didn't have A Jin by my side in this life, I would feel very lonely."

"If Xi'er leaves me, I will go crazy." Qi Jincheng's sincere tone showed no hesitation.

Qiao Xi suddenly wrapped her arms around his neck, looked him in the eye with deep affection, and said, "Ah Jin, I really love you so much, I wish I could devour you whole and make you belong to me forever."

"Go ahead and take a bite." Qi Jincheng leaned closer, eager to get a taste.

Qiao Xi looked at his exposed collarbone and pretended to bite him before pouncing on him.

The next day.

Qiao Xi got up early to wash up, then packed the flower cakes into a box and left at the same time as Qi Jincheng, but in different directions.

Du Xinyu yawned constantly throughout the journey. His current sleep schedule is typical of young people: staying up all night and then desperately dozing off during the day.

However, it's commendable that he was able to get up; Qiao Xi thought he was going to stand her up today.

After nearly an hour of bumpy travel, Qiao Xi parked the car in the cemetery parking lot.

Du Xinyu was swaying and almost fell asleep when he felt the car stop. He suddenly opened his eyes and asked blankly, "Are we here?"

"Wait for me in the car?" Qiao Xi said, then got out of the car herself.

Seeing how sleepy he looked, she decided to let him stay in the car and sleep.

It also gave her a chance to whisper secrets to her mother.

Du Xinyu said eagerly, "Okay, then hurry up..." He swallowed the word "quite" back in time, and then said with a grin, "You must have a lot to talk about with Auntie. It's okay, you two can chat slowly, I'll wait for you."

Qiao Xi walked up the steps of the cemetery, one by one, until she finally arrived at her mother's grave.

The grave mound was covered with flowers, including her mother's favorite green lisianthus, but Qiao Guangyuan never gave her green lisianthus; he always gave her roses instead, because he never took his mother's preferences to heart.

So these flowers definitely weren't sent by him, which means it could only be from my maternal grandfather and uncle who knew my mother's preferences.

Qiao Xi placed the green bellflower and flower cakes she was holding in front of her grave. Looking at the photo on her tombstone, tears welled up in her eyes as she said, "Mom, did Grandpa and Uncle come to see you?"

"They must miss you too."

The people who miss their mother the most are her maternal grandfather and her uncle, yet her own daughter is so cold-hearted.

Qiao Xi, holding the flower cakes, said to her in a coquettish tone, "Look, I brought you your favorite flower cakes."

“Ah Jin tried it for me and said it tasted good, but only I know it’s far inferior to what you make.”

"Just try it, okay?" she said, opening the box. The aroma wasn't as strong as it had been yesterday.

After waiting a moment, Qiao Xi asked again, "Isn't it pretty good?"

Although she couldn't get a reply from her mother, she took it as tacit agreement.

Her fingertips carefully touched the photo on the tombstone. Seeing that no one was around, she whispered to the photo, "Mom, something incredible happened to me. I was actually dead, but when I woke up, I found myself back on the day I got my marriage certificate with Ah Jin."

“I know it must be God who heard my plea. He gave me a chance to start over and a chance to make amends for my mistakes.” Qiao Xi paused, took a deep breath to hold back her tears, and continued, “So I will definitely cherish it, cherish every day now, and cherish everyone who loves me.”

"I will take good care of my grandfather and uncles, and I will also protect the Jinghua family. I will definitely do so."

At this point, Qiao Xi couldn't help but let tears well up in her eyes. She sobbed silently for a while before forcing herself to hold back, and then smiled at the photo on the tombstone.

"Mom, Jin has something to do at his company today. He said he'll be over in a bit. Whether he makes it or not, you can't be angry with him."

“He has been really good to me, he has been, he is now, and he will be in the future. I believe in him.”

"I know you were murdered." Qiao Xi suddenly stopped smiling, hatred gathering in her eyes. She said in a low voice, suppressing her resentment, "I will find the person who killed you and avenge you."

But soon, a smile reappeared on her face. She wanted her mother to see her smile because her mother was smiling at her too.

After calming herself down, Qiao Xi stayed with her mother in front of the tombstone for a while longer before slowly getting up to leave.

The moment she turned around, a person suddenly appeared beside her, startling Qiao Xi.

She breathed a sigh of relief after seeing the other person's appearance clearly. At least she was sure he wasn't a ghost. He was probably someone who had come to sweep the grave. He was wearing a black suit and sunglasses, but he looked to be in his forties.

But what's most eye-catching is the green bellflower he's holding.

Just as Qiao Xi was stunned, the other person greeted her first, "Hello."

"Hello." Qiao Xi quickly snapped out of her reverie.

The man smiled and asked again, "Young lady, are you also here to pay respects to an deceased friend?"

"Mm." Qiao Xi nodded.

The man nodded in understanding, then asked, "What is your relationship with this old friend?"

After a slight hesitation, Qiao Xi replied, "My mother."

The man's lips curled up slightly as he muttered to himself, "You two look very alike."

Qiao Xi couldn't see his expression clearly because his sunglasses covered half of his face, but he said she looked a lot like her mother. Did he know his mother?

Especially the green bellflower in his hand, it made her even more...

The man seemed to have noticed something and gestured to Qiao Xi: "In the photo."

Qiao Xi glanced at the photo instinctively, wondering if she was overthinking it.

The man seemed to be looking at the photo as well, and said to Qiao Xi as if to comfort her, "The deceased is gone, those who are alive must take good care of themselves."
