Chapter 32 Yu Hai
"What woke up?"
Haitang stepped forward and said, "Peony, speak slowly. You're such a grown-up, why are you still as impulsive as when you were a child?"
Haitang glanced at Jiang Wanning as she spoke.
Seeing that Jiang Wan Ning wasn't angry because Shao Yao's recklessness had bothered her, she breathed a sigh of relief.
The two girls were rescued from human traffickers by the lady when they were young and stayed with the young lady.
Although the lady and young lady treat them very well, there are times when it is still necessary to maintain a distance between master and servant.
"Don't rush, tell me slowly, who woke up?" Jiang Wan Ning smiled as she poured a cup of tea and handed it to Shao Yao.
Peony, holding a cup of tea, said, "That person has woken up. He's the one you mentioned, the one who dreamed of saving the prince."
After saying that, he tilted his head back and drank the tea in one gulp, then wiped his mouth with his sleeve.
Jiang Wan Ning was amused by the appearance of the peony or happy because of the news that Ah Hai had woken up.
He stood up. "Quick, let's go take a look."
After taking a couple of steps, he turned back to Haitang and said, "You don't need to go. Pack your things and leave quickly."
"Yes, Miss."
Jiang Wan Ning quickened her pace and arrived at the side courtyard, unaware of the shadowy figure following her behind.
Jiang Wan Ning looked at Ah Hai, whose eyes were devoid of any will to live, and did not speak, but calmly sat opposite him.
Ahai was sitting on the bed when he heard a noise. He looked up and saw the woman walk in.
A look of amazement flashed in her eyes, but she immediately lowered her head again. "You saved me."
Jiang Wan Ning nodded.
"Thanks."
Seeing that Jiang Wan Ning did not respond, A Hai raised his head and said, "My name is Yu Hai, you can call me A Hai."
Jiang Wan Ning smiled slightly; these words were exactly the same as in her previous life.
"Jiang Wanning".
Yu Hai continued to lower his head. In fact, he had woken up a few days earlier, but had been pretending to be asleep.
I always feel like it's a dream, and that I'll go back to it when I wake up.
But he never expected that this ridiculous time-travel story would actually happen to him.
He had hoped to rely on his medical skills to be like those described in online novels, but that wasn't the case.
This was ancient times, an ancient time without human rights, where people could be killed at will.
He was scared. He wanted to go back. After all, in modern times, doctors are a respected profession, let alone top-tier experts in the country.
After working several shifts for three days and three nights without sleep, I fainted and woke up in this godforsaken place.
"Ah Hai," Jiang Wan Ning called softly, "You've been dizzy for several days in a row. I had someone make some light meals for you to eat for now."
Yu Hai stared blankly at the table full of delicacies, momentarily stunned.
The word "Ah Hai" sounded familiar, as if someone he knew well had called him, but he had no recollection of it at all.
"Th...thank you."
"The doctor said you encountered something extremely sad and were unwilling to wake up. I shouldn't have asked about it."
"But I just want to tell you one thing: since we've met, it must be fate."
"If you have any needs, just give the order. The eldest daughter of the Marquis's family in Dongling Kingdom is quite capable."
Jiang Wan Ning's words indeed rekindled a glimmer of hope in Yu Hai's heart. "Thank you, Miss Jiang."
"I just... suddenly have no home, and I'm not very familiar with this place..."
"You can stay here in peace. If there is anything you don't understand, just have a servant come to me."
Jiang Wanning said, "I'm in the yard right next to yours."
"Thank you, Miss Jiang."
Jiang Wanning chatted briefly for a bit more, knowing that she couldn't rush things if she wanted Ah Hai to feel completely at ease.
......
"You saw it clearly?" Jiang Wanru excitedly stood up, holding onto the table. "There really is a man living in that courtyard?"
"Reporting to Second Miss, this servant saw it clearly."
“These past few days, Peony, who is always by the young lady’s side, has been going that way, so I have become suspicious.”
"Two days ago, I saw Peony come out of that courtyard again and then ran to report to the young lady. Soon after, the young lady rushed over."
"That's when I followed."
"I was afraid I hadn't seen clearly enough, so I didn't dare report it immediately, but the young lady has been going there for the past few days..."
The servant could even hear them laughing and talking.
"I could see clearly through the crack in the door that it was a man, and his behavior was very casual and unrestrained."
They're always all over the young lady, and they even point at her and say disrespectful things from time to time.
Jiang Wanru suppressed her excitement, "Hmph, no wonder."
"So the reason she locked me and my aunt up in confinement was because she was keeping a lover in the backyard."
"I wonder what will happen when the Prince of Langya and Father find out?"
A calculating glint appeared in Jiang Wanru's eyes.
"Second Miss, something terrible has happened, Second Miss!"
What's all the rush about?
Jiang Wanru was fantasizing about ruining Jiang Wanning's reputation and causing the Zhou family to collapse.
Startled back to reality by the maid rushing in in a panic, he glared at her fiercely and said, "You'd better have something important to say."
The maidservant shivered and quickly lowered her head. "Reporting to...Second Miss, your aunt wants to see you. She says it's something important."
"Important matter?" Jiang Wanru calculated the time; it should be the auspicious day when Steward Wang would deliver the money.
She wiped the smile from her lips and glared at the maidservant. "I'm in a good mood today, so I'll let it go."
"If you disturb me in such a flustered manner again in the future, be careful I don't sell you out."
"Please forgive me, Miss, I will never dare to do it again."
The young maid shrank back in fright, "It was Madam who told me to hurry..."
"Smack!"
Jiang Wanru slapped the maid hard across the face and then pushed her away. "If you try to argue again next time, it won't be as simple as just a slap."
Over the years, she's pretended to be a good person and a weakling enough that she can't even easily punish a maid.
They were afraid that the carefully crafted public image they had worked so hard to create would be ruined.
Now things are great. Before long, the entire Marquis's mansion will belong to her and her mother. At that time, she will be more than qualified to be a concubine, let alone marry the heir apparent and become his wife.
At that time, Jiang Wan Ning and Zhou Shi will definitely be forced to kneel on the ground and kowtow for mercy!
Jiang Wanru hurriedly arrived at Bihe Courtyard, smiling as she lifted the curtain, "Mother, has Steward Wang come to deliver the silver?"
Before she could finish speaking, the scene before her eyes left Jiang Wanru speechless with shock.
She stood there blankly for a while before slowly stepping forward. "Mother, what's wrong with you?"
Aunt Liu was lying on the bed, with bloodstains on the bedside and the floor.
Granny Zhang also looked dejected.
"Granny, what's wrong with my mother?" Jiang Wanru asked anxiously.
Granny Zhang sighed, "Something has happened."
"Wang Fu ran away."
"Wh...what?" Jiang Wanru was stunned for a moment. "What do you mean he ran away?"
"Where could he run off to? His family is still in Beijing. Besides, he's been with his mother for over ten years, how could he bear to leave her..."
"Mother, is there some misunderstanding? Have you been to his house?"
Aunt Liu struggled to her feet and leaned on Granny Zhang, saying, "I went there a long time ago."
"The whole family has already moved out."
"No one knows where they went, and they left no clues."
