Chapter 19 Where did the wasps come from?
Where did the wasps come from?
Jiang Wanru shouted as she reached out to shoo away the flying wasps, "Quickly chase them away!"
"ah!!!"
Wasps buzzed and flew towards Jiang Wanru and the maid, startling the horses in the stable.
With a long neigh, it thrashed about in the stable, knocking Jiang Wanru flying.
"Second Miss!"
The young maidservant hurriedly stepped forward to help him up.
Jiang Wan Ning looked around. "Second sister is here too? Don't let her come over."
"Where did these wasps come from out of nowhere?"
The crabapple and peony were trying not to laugh.
"Young Miss, the one who fell down looks like the Second Young Miss."
"Nonsense!" Begonia shouted angrily. "Peony, are you out of your mind?"
"The second young lady is under house arrest, how could she possibly be here? This little maid must have called her by the wrong name."
Jiang Wanning shouted, "Hey, you two, stop talking!"
"Quickly find a way to drive these wasps away and rescue them."
The three, master and servants, were talking loudly, but their feet didn't move an inch.
Jiang Wanru was chased by the frightened horse and rolled around in the horse manure.
Upon seeing this, the maidservant knelt down and hurriedly cried out, "Young Miss, please quickly send someone to control this horse."
"If this continues, the second young lady will be trampled to death."
Jiang Wan Ning paused for a moment, then, seeing that the time was right, exclaimed, "What did you say?"
"She's my second younger sister?"
"Haitang, hurry up and control the horse."
"Yes, Miss."
Haitang hesitantly stepped forward, calmed the horse down, and pulled it aside.
"Hurry up and pull your young lady out of the horse manure!" Jiang Wan Ning ordered urgently.
Despite the pain of being stung by wasps, the maidservant helped Jiang Wanru out of the stable.
Before they had taken two steps, a basin of water drenched them completely.
"Aren't wasps supposed to be afraid of water? Why are there more and more of them?" Jiang Wan Ning asked anxiously, spinning around in circles.
"What should we do?"
"Miss, did the Second Miss use something?" Peony asked anxiously, "Why are these wasps specifically stinging the Second Miss?"
Upon hearing this, Jiang Wan Ning hurriedly asked, "Second sister, did you use something?"
"I don't know either." Jiang Wanru waved her hands wildly in the air. "Big sister, please save me."
"I will definitely find a way to save you!"
As Jiang Wan Ning spoke, she paced anxiously in circles, her face filled with worry, but she made no move to help.
"Young Miss, why don't you help our Second Miss back to her room first?" the maidservant said urgently.
“No!” Jiang Wan Ning said, “There are still concubines in Bihe Courtyard, and it’s close to Father and Mother’s courtyard.”
"These wasps are so fierce, what if they chase after them and sting them?"
"Little sister, did you use or eat something? Why did the wasps specifically sting you?"
"Young Miss, let's think of a way to save the Second Young Miss first. We can talk about this later." The little maid ignored her own stings.
If Jiang Wanru gets hurt, Aunt Liu will not let her off the hook.
“You’re right,” Jiang Wan Ning said, “but I don’t have any other options right now.”
"Let me help you drive the wasps away."
Jiang Wanning stepped forward as she spoke.
*Smack!*
He slapped Jiang Wanru hard across the face.
"Smack!"
Another hard slap.
"Slap! Slap! Slap!"
Then he slapped Jiang Wanru repeatedly, each slap delivered with full force.
"Begonia, peony, what are you standing there for?" Jiang Wan Ning said, "Aren't you going to come and help?"
"If anything happens to Second Sister, you'll all be in for a beating!"
"Yes, Miss."
Haitang and Shaoyao happily stepped forward and started punching and kicking Jiang Wanru and the maid.
They fought for a full fifteen minutes before slowly stopping.
Jiang Wan Ning tugged at her sleeve, and some white powder spilled out. Before long, all the wasps flew away.
At this moment, Jiang Wanru was curled up on the ground, her head swollen from being stung by horse manure, and she smelled of horse manure and urine.
"Quickly send Second Sister back to Bihe Courtyard and go call Father and Mother over."
"Yes, Miss."
Peony moves very quickly.
"Big sister," Jiang Wanru, who had been lying motionless on the ground, said weakly, "No."
"Don't call me father for such a trivial matter."
“It’s late now, and I’ve disturbed Father’s rest. I feel guilty.”
"What are you saying, little sister?" Jiang Wan Ning asked with feigned concern. "How can this be a trivial matter?"
"You've suffered such serious injuries."
"Stop talking, Haitang, go and fetch a doctor, Doctor Sun from the east end of the city! He's the best doctor."
"Yes, Miss."
Haitang looked anxious, as if she had sandbags strapped to her legs, but she moved very slowly.
"Quickly help your second young lady back," Jiang Wan Ning said, pointing to the little maid on the ground.
Bihe Courtyard.
Several maids held their breath as they cleaned the horse manure off Jiang Wanru's body and changed her into new clothes.
Jiang Wanru screamed in pain.
Aunt Liu clenched her fists tightly and paced back and forth by the bed, her face full of heartache.
"Ru'er, are you alright?" Aunt Liu called softly, then turned to Marquis Jiang Zheng and said, "Master."
"Please, please go and fetch a doctor quickly! What will happen if Ru'er is disfigured?"
"Get up first. Ningning just said that she sent someone to fetch a doctor."
“Master, Doctor Sun in the east of the city is the farthest from the Marquis’s residence. By the time he gets there, who knows what state Ru’er will be in.”
Aunt Liu, as delicate as a pool of spring water, collapsed to her knees on the ground.
“But Doctor Sun is the best doctor in the capital,” Jiang Wanning said.
"Go and fetch the imperial physician now, the palace gates are already locked."
Jiang Wan Ning suddenly seemed to remember something, "Oh, I remember now."
“There is a renowned physician residing in the Langya Prince’s residence. Father, why don’t I go to the Prince’s residence and ask him for help?”
Jiang Zheng frowned slightly. "That was specially bestowed by His Majesty upon the Prince of Langya to help him improve his health."
If we were to invite someone over for such a trivial matter, it would likely displease the Emperor.
Although Jiang Zheng was a military general, he still understood this matter clearly.
"Sir, although Doctor Sun is highly skilled, he is quite old, and his shop is far away. We don't know when he will arrive."
"Why don't we listen to Miss and go to the Prince's mansion to invite them here?" Aunt Liu knelt at Jiang Zheng's feet, crying and pleading.
“Yes, Father.” Jiang Wan Ning said anxiously, “Although I don’t know what Second Sister is doing out so late at night dressed as a maid and going out the back door.”
"But this is also my fault; I didn't recognize that it was my second sister."
"I assumed they were just two maids from Bihe Courtyard, so I thought I'd help me brush the horses."
Jiang Wan Ning's words were not to be taken lightly; they served as a reminder to Jiang Zheng.
Jiang Wanru should be reflecting on her mistakes behind closed doors right now, but she quietly slipped out the back door so late at night dressed as a maid.
Aunt Liu's expression changed slightly, and Jiang Zheng said in a deep voice, "What is Ru'er going to do so late at night?"
