Chapter 325: He's obviously a villain.

Chapter 325: He's obviously a villain.

Haitang quickly helped him up, asking, "Why are you dressed like that?"

"He looks like a villain."

Ink staining...

"Are you alright?" Haitang looked down at the spot where she had been hit.

Looking at Haitang's eyes, Mo Ran felt a chill run down his spine and quickly shook his head. Yu Hai chimed in, "Oh, Mo Ran said he's like this because of you."

"You will have to take responsibility for him from now on."

Mo Ran stared wide-eyed, but he didn't say a word.

"Oh, he also said that if he becomes useless, you can't despise him, since it's all because of you."

Mo Ran's eyes were practically popping out of their sockets.

Haitang looked up at Mo Ran and asked seriously, "Really?"

Mo Ran covered his mouth and quickly shook his head, then nodded; he didn't know what to say.

"Don't worry, I will take responsibility for you," Haitang said solemnly.

Mo Ran's heart seemed to be tugged by something. She slowly lowered her hand and stared at Haitang with deep affection. Seeing the loving atmosphere in the air, Yu Hai also turned away tactfully.

Just as I turned around, I heard Mo Ran shout.

"Haitang, what are you doing?!"

"Don't come any closer!"

Yu Hai: Is Haitang really that fierce? She usually seems quite well-behaved, I never expected this.

Yu Hai couldn't help but turn his head and gossip quietly.

They met the gaze that Haitang was giving them.

"You guys continue, I'll excuse myself." Who said ancient times were conservative? They were crazy, okay?!

Yu Hai muttered to himself.

"What's there to avoid? I'm the one who should be avoiding it," Haitang said seriously.

"Huh?" Mo Ran and Yu Hai exclaimed in unison.

Yu Hai glanced down at Mo Ran's cool lower body and said with a troubled expression, "That Miss Haitang, I'm a man!"

"I know."

"I'm a real man!"

Haitang frowned and said, "Isn't that obvious?"

Yu Hai swallowed hard. "I mean, I'm straight, and so are my hobbies."

Haitang looked bewildered. "What does this have to do with your medical treatment?"

"To...see a doctor?"

Haitang nodded, "Please take a look at Mo Ran. Is he alright? Did I go too far? Can I still save him... his descendants?"

"Just tell me what you need."

Yu Hai's heart, which had been pounding in his chest, finally calmed down. He raised his hand to wipe the cold sweat from his forehead. "Oh, is that so? I thought..."

"What did you think?"

"No...it's nothing."

Mo Ran, who was huddled up to the side, felt much more at ease. "No... no need to look, I'm fine."

"Really?" Haitang asked seriously, "But I saw you screaming quite pitifully just now."

"Really, it's nothing, it just hurts a little."

“Some illnesses don’t show up at first. Judging from this, Miss Haitang, you have to take responsibility,” Yu Hai said.

Haitang turned to look at Mo Ran, whose face was flushed.

"Don't worry, I will take responsibility for you," Haitang said earnestly. "I will talk to the prince and princess tomorrow."

"Say...say what?"

"Tell me I want to marry you and take responsibility for you."

Yu Hai knew Mo Ran's feelings for Hai Tang, and he was just jokingly trying to set them up, but he didn't expect Hai Tang to be so easily fooled.

Even so...

Yu Hai choked on his own saliva, "Um... I think so."

Yu Hai quickly gave Mo Ran a look, and Mo Ran was so embarrassed that she didn't know where to put her hands. Finally, she realized what was happening and quickly pulled up her pants.

"Um, Haitang, you came here... to catch the assassin?"

Haitang nodded and briefly recounted what had happened in the Empress's palace.

"The princess had already thought of this and instructed me to come and protect Young Master Yu."

"You came to protect Young Master Yu, so why are you dressed as an assassin?"

Ink staining...

"I know I'm masked, after all, this is the palace, and my face is quite familiar in the palace. What if an assassin recognizes me and stops me on the way?"

Haitang then realized what was happening and nodded.

"Then you should speak earlier next time. Luckily, I used my fist instead of my longsword."

Mo Ran's legs inexplicably tightened, feeling an emptiness below. "Um...this...is for you to use in the future."

"Next time you hit someone, find a different spot. This place is too mean."

Haitang nodded seriously, "You're right."

Yu Hai squatted to the side, eating melon seeds and watching the two gossip. Suddenly, as if thinking of something, he said, "Speaking of which, the banquet is almost over, why hasn't the assassin arrived yet?"

Haitang and Mo Ran exchanged a glance, then looked at the sky.

It was indeed well past midnight.

Just then, a black figure flashed by, and Mo Ran excitedly chased after it, "Why did you take so long to get here!"

assassin......

"You...knew I was coming?"

"Cough cough... I had diarrhea, so I was a little late."

"Next time it's such an important moment, remember not to eat anything indiscriminately, or I'll take a punch for you."

The assassin scratched his head, puzzled. "You...were also sent by the master to kill Physician Yu?"

"Stop talking nonsense," Mo Ran said. "How many of you came in total?"

The assassin looked around. "This is the eldest brother of the royal palace. The more people there are, the easier it is to be exposed. So naturally, it's just me."

"However, I didn't expect that the master would send someone to meet me in advance. Perfect, let's finish this quickly."

Mo Ran nodded. "We should indeed finish this quickly."

The assassin in black walked towards Yu Hai, and as he passed Mo Ran, Mo Ran knocked him unconscious with a single chop to the neck.

"They sent an assassin like this to kill me?" Yu Hai pointed to the unconscious person on the ground. "Isn't that underestimating me a bit too much?"

“Killing you is something anyone can do,” Mo Ran said as he tied up the unconscious assassin lying on the ground.

Hurried footsteps suddenly came from outside the Imperial Hospital. Haitang reached for her sword hilt and stared intently at the doorway.

"Squeak." The door was pushed open, and Wu Panpan took two steps back in fright at the sight before her. "Oh dear, what happened?"

"It's nothing, just encountered a petty assassin. Chief Steward Wu, is His Majesty here because of something?" Yu Hai had also learned to navigate the complexities of the palace.

"Someone actually dared to assassinate someone in the palace." Wu Panpan glared at the assassin lying on the ground. "It was the Empress who said that you, Doctor Yu, might be in danger, so His Majesty sent me to check on you."

Yu Hai looked around and asked, "So you're the one they sent?"

"They sent our family."

Mo Ran leaned closer and whispered, "Since it was Steward Wu who came, don't be fooled by his presence alone; there are quite a few hidden guards around here."

Yu Hai then suddenly realized what was going on.

"Now that the assassin has been caught, Physician Yu, why don't you come with me?"

"Me?" Yu Hai pointed to himself.

Wu Panpan nodded, "You don't know, do you? There's almost a huge argument about you in the main hall."
