Chapter 4 Sisterly Love
It’s only spring, and there’s still a chill in the air.
The white marble floor tiles were cold and hard. Feng Yiyue knelt on them, shaking uncontrollably.
My knees hurt, my body was cold, and I was scared.
Although she came from a humble family, she was raised by her parents and had never been beaten. The thought of being slapped in the face in front of the new concubines made her so ashamed and angry that she wished she could die.
But she was afraid of pain and death...
Feng Yiyue felt that she was really useless and was only causing trouble for the Empress.
Her eyes became hot and she began to cry with her head down.
"Feng Yiyue!"
Suddenly, a familiar and urgent voice came from not far away. Feng Yiyue immediately looked up and saw her peerless and beautiful Concubine Jiang running towards her in a hurry.
Her tears suddenly flowed even more violently.
Jiang Shuyi was afraid that she would waste time and let Feng Yiyue make the same mistake again. After her rebirth, her mind was full of Jiang Wanqing and Pei Yu, and she actually forgot such a big thing!
She just remembered that she didn't even want to sit in the sedan chair anymore. She ordered the eunuch to stop the sedan chair, and she left the palace servants behind and almost ran over.
At this moment, seeing Feng Yiyue kneeling there, her cheeks pale and able to cry, I felt relieved.
What a crappy sister, she is not even a bit comparable to her Yiyue!
Jiang Shuyi walked forward quickly, with mixed feelings. She stared with her almond-shaped eyes and shouted angrily with a trembling voice: "Get up! Why are you crying? You useless thing!"
How could you push yourself into a dead end?
She was betrayed by her own sister and son, but she didn't even think about dying!
Feng Yiyue didn't expect that she would be scolded even though she was in such a miserable state. She felt very aggrieved, but she didn't dare to confront the empress. She could only stand up obediently. Unexpectedly, before she could stand firmly, the empress suddenly embraced her in her arms.
She was a little confused and tilted her head, and actually saw crystal tears in the empress's beautiful eyes.
Feng Yiyue felt a sudden pain in her heart and hurriedly broke free, saying in panic: "Don't cry, Madam! It's all my fault! I accept the punishment and will never let you down!"
Jiang Shuyi felt even more upset. She raised her sleeve to wipe away her tears and wished she could kick her twice to relieve her pain.
"Hey, I was wondering why you didn't come in when people came. It turns out you are acting out the deep love between sisters here."
A sarcastic female voice was heard. Jiang Shuyi looked back and saw Concubine Wu coming out of the hall. She took the hand of a palace maid, raised her eyebrows and smiled at them.
Behind her were Concubine Shu, Concubine Jin, Concubine Qian and others, who all laughed when they heard the words.
Jiang Shuyi felt a little strange when looking at them now.
Many of them died at his hands in their previous lives, and those who survived had a miserable end. Now they are jumping around again.
It was like seeing a ghost in broad daylight.
However, Jiang Shuyi is not afraid of ghosts. Pei Yan said that he is the emperor and with him to suppress them, all evil spirits cannot invade.
Jiang Shuyi glanced at them, chuckled, and took Feng Yiyue's hand, clasping it together, and asked in a puzzled tone: "Why is it acting? Yiyue and I are sworn sisters, and our friendship is deep and loyal. Your Majesty, what you said doesn't mean there is no true sister in the palace? That shouldn't be the case, right?"
Feng Yiyue was stunned when she heard this. She looked down at the empress's fair and delicate hands, and her eyes turned red again.
The queen actually treated her as a sister, and she always thought she was a lackey...
Concubine Wu looked down on him.
Sisters? Where do sisters come from in the harem? They are just using each other, why pretend!
"There is no need for Concubine Jiang to be so sharp-tongued. Concubine Feng just committed a crime in public and spoke rudely to Concubine Jin. I asked her to be punished here. Since Concubine Jiang and Concubine Feng have a deep sisterly relationship, why don't you take the punishment on her behalf?"
Jiang Shuyi raised her eyes slightly and sneered: "If I dare to kneel, do you dare to hit me?"
She looked directly into Concubine Wu's eyes without covering anything. Concubine Wu was filled with rage and pointed at her with her gilded armor tremblingly. The word "outrageous" came to her lips but she couldn't say it.
Yes, even if Jiang Shuyi really dared to kneel, she would not dare to let anyone slap her in the face.
His Majesty appears to be easy-going and benevolent, but in fact his temperament is difficult to predict. If he punishes his favorite concubine, I am afraid he will suffer great disaster.
Isn't the Queen a lesson from the past? Now no one dares to talk to Concubine Jiang.
But if she gives up now and does not pursue the matter, she will be greatly embarrassed.
Concubine Wu and Jiang Shuyi were in a stalemate.
It wasn't until Qing Pei, the maid in charge of Kunning Palace, came out, bowed, and smiled to break the deadlock: "The Queen Mother asked the ladies to return to the palace."
In Kunning Palace, Queen Shen Suzhen was already sitting on the phoenix chair.
Perhaps because she was going to meet a newlywed, she was dressed particularly solemnly and gorgeously today. She wore a nine-phoenix crown with red gold and kingfisher feathers on her head, sparkling oriental pearls on her earlobes, and a bright yellow gold-woven phoenix robe, and her makeup was quite heavy.
When Jiang Shuyi and the others came in, the concubines had not yet stood up to pay their respects, and Queen Shen sat there with a calm expression, as if she was waiting for them.
Concubine Wu, Concubine Xue, Concubine Jin and others quickly bowed and greeted: "Greetings to the Queen, may the Queen be well!"
Jiang Shuyi bent her knees slightly when Empress Shen looked at her, and said casually: "Your Highness, I pay my respects to you, Empress."
Queen Shen seemed unaware and calmly withdrew her gaze: "Everyone, stand up."
"Thank you, Queen!"
As soon as the concubines sat back down, Queen Shen's face darkened and she coldly asked Concubine Wu, "Concubine Wu, what were you doing just now?"
Concubine Wu suddenly raised her head, somewhat incredulous. She was saying that she was making a fuss? Was the old queen crazy?
Just as she was about to retort, she heard Queen Shen say sternly, "Concubine Jiang is deeply loved by the emperor. As the queen, I cannot argue with her. You are just a concubine. Can't you be more sensible?"
These words directly put the blame on Concubine Jiang, but they were in the same camp, poor people who could not afford to offend the favored concubine and had to suffer the grievances.
Concubine Wu heard the hidden meaning and immediately changed her attitude. She sighed sadly and wiped her non-existent tears with a handkerchief: "Your Highness, the Queen is right. I was just angry for a moment and wanted to stand up for my sister Jinpin, but I forgot that I am also a nobody and my words don't count."
The imperial concubine has little influence in front of the concubine, and if it gets out, it will be a joke to the world.
Most of the concubines were dissatisfied and resentful. They all came from the imperial palace and had worked hard to gain experience just for the sake of promotion. But now their positions were useless in the face of the emperor's favor. Who could be willing to accept this!
Especially Concubine Jin, her teeth were almost broken.
Jiang Shuyi didn't really care.
This is better, don't provoke her, so that she won't be unable to resist and dirty her hands again.
Feeling someone's eyes on her, she turned her head and saw Feng Yiyue looking at her with bright eyes and admiration on her face, as if she didn't expect that she could solve the problem so easily.
Jiang Shuyi curled her lips. She always felt that when she saw Yiyue, she became relaxed and cheerful. However, when she was with Jiang Wanqing, she always hovered on the edge of madness and impatience.
Thinking of this, she suddenly remembered her business. She ignored the queen and casually pointed at a eunuch and called him over: "You, go to Zhaoyang Palace and tell Yuzhu to lock up the east side hall. I have another use for it. Also, inform the Ministry of Internal Affairs to choose a new residence for Concubine Jiang."
When these words were spoken, everyone in Kunning Palace opened their eyes wide in shock.
Isn't this Concubine Jiang the biological sister of Concubine Jiang? Concubine Jiang started to renovate the palace for her sister a month ago, adding things to it. It was a big deal and everyone knew about it. What does it mean now?
Queen Shen also looked at her suspiciously: "Concubine Jiang, the new bride must have entered the palace by now. What do you mean by suddenly changing Concubine Jiang's palace?"
Jiang Shuyi slowly leaned back on her chair and looked at them with a smile: "It's nothing special. It's just that I saw a Buddhist scripture in the Palace of Heavenly Purity last night. I flipped through it and felt that my six senses were pure. Now, except for Your Majesty, I don't want to live with anyone else, not even my own sister, so if any of you have a vacant palace, let Concubine Jiang move in."
The concubines were so shameless at her that they were speechless.
Other people's six senses are pure because they don't want a man, but she is pure because she doesn't want a sister? !
And you put it in someone else's palace? You must have bad intentions!
