Aunt Wu called out to her, and Mingyao asked, "What's wrong?"
"This is a hangover soup I made. Go and take it to Master Pei."
Mingyao hesitated for a moment, and before she knew it, Wu Ma had handed her the hangover soup.
Before she could react, Wu Ma slipped away and turned to leave.
Helpless, Mingyao took the hangover soup to Pei Siyu's room.
She stood at the door, took a deep breath, and softly called out, "Master Pei, may I come in?"
"Okay, come in."
A deep, husky voice came from the other side of the door, and Mingyao's heart skipped a beat.
She carefully pushed open the door; the room was pitch black, so dark you couldn't see your hand in front of your face.
Just as Mingyao was peering into the room, the lights suddenly came on.
She was startled and looked up to meet Pei Siyu's deep gaze.
He was only a fist's distance from Mingyao; if he took another step forward, Mingyao would crash into his chest.
"Master Pei, why aren't you saying anything?"
Fortunately, she didn't have a heart condition, otherwise she would have been scared to death by Pei Siyu.
Pei Siyu narrowed his eyes slightly, raised his eyebrows, and his expression was unreadable.
He took the hangover soup, a smile playing on his lips, and asked, "Afraid of me?"
Mingyao patted her chest, still shaken, and whispered, "How can I not be scared?"
Even the bravest person couldn't withstand being frightened by Pei Siyu like that.
After taking a sip of the hangover soup, Pei Siyu's brows furrowed.
The next second, he rushed straight into the bathroom.
"Master Pei, are you alright?"
Mingyao stood outside the bathroom door and asked with concern.
After the sound of rushing water, Pei Siyu's hoarse voice came through the door opening: "It's nothing."
Just as Mingyao was about to say she was leaving, the man's tall figure pressed down on her.
Mingyao stumbled back two steps, slightly unsteady on her feet, and asked after a moment of surprise, "Master Pei, what's wrong...?"
He leaned on my shoulder, and there was no reply, only warm breath brushing against my face like feathers.
She must have fallen asleep.
Mingyao tentatively shook him, but he didn't react.
"Master Pei?"
They still ignored it.
Mingyao turned her head to look at Pei Siyu and found that his eyes were closed and his breathing had become steady.
She actually fell asleep!
Mingyao was speechless. Did they think she was a free pillow?
Helpless, she could only help Pei Siyu to the bed.
His body was so heavy that it made it difficult for Mingyao to walk.
After finally reaching the bedside, before Mingyao could put her down, Pei Siyu suddenly hugged her and pushed her onto the bed.
"Ugh."
Mingyao frowned, let out a soft hum, and was completely pinned down by Pei Siyu.
Could he have done it on purpose?
It's really suspicious that he hugged her as soon as he got to the bedside!
Mingyao exhaled and placed her hands on Pei Siyu's shoulders.
His body was too heavy to be moved.
Even with all her strength, Mingyao couldn't move Pei Siyu, so she gave up.
She sighed, looked helplessly at the crystal chandelier on the ceiling, and unknowingly fell asleep.
The next day.
The faint morning light shone on Mingyao's face. She frowned, turned over, and faced Pei Siyu.
Pei Siyu frowned slightly, then got off the bed and silently covered Mingyao with the blanket.
Just then, Mingyao opened her eyes.
The moment their eyes met, Pei Siyu swiftly turned his head to the side and said in a deep voice, "Get up."
Looking at the unfamiliar room furnishings, Mingyao's eyes widened suddenly.
She actually fell asleep in Pei Siyu's room yesterday!
Mingyao jumped off the bed as fast as she could, cowering as she looked at Pei Siyu, her voice trembling as she said, "Master Pei, I didn't mean to yesterday..."
"Yes, I know."
Pei Siyu gave her a cold, stern look before turning and leaving the room.
Mingyao looked at him with a hint of confusion.
That's it... over?
If this had happened in the past, Pei Siyu would have definitely scolded her.
It took Mingyao a while to come back to her senses after Pei Siyu left the room.
She unfolded the blanket she was holding, and her cheeks gradually turned crimson.
Pei Siyu started to take care of her and would even cover her with a blanket.
Actually, she had woken up a long time ago and wanted to take the opportunity to slip away, but unfortunately, Pei Siyu also woke up.
To avoid an awkward face-to-face encounter, she had no choice but to continue pretending to be asleep.
Unexpectedly, after Pei Siyu got up, he didn't chase her away with a dark face. Instead, he thoughtfully covered her with a blanket.
Sooner or later, she'll win over Pei Siyu! Then Ming Suqin will be saved!
Mingyao folded the blanket neatly and walked briskly out of the room.
"Good morning, Mr. Pei."
Mingyao was in a good mood and took the initiative to greet the man sitting across from her at the dining table.
Pei Siyu gave her a cold glance and continued eating without saying a word.
Mingyao felt a little uneasy.
I was just covering her with a blanket, how come she changed her expression as soon as we went downstairs?
Does he like or dislike her now?
Mingyao stared at Pei Siyu's face for a while, and finally decided to give up.
Pei Siyu was never one to smile, and you couldn't tell anything from his expression.
After a moment's thought, Mingyao, as if possessed, picked up a piece of food for him.
After placing the food on the plate, Mingyao paused and subconsciously looked at Pei Siyu.
Pei Siyu's eyes were as black as ink, unfathomable, cold and devoid of any emotion.
Mingyao's hand trembled, and her chopsticks fell onto the table.
Have I gone mad?! I actually put food on Pei Siyu's plate!
Mingyao chuckled awkwardly and withdrew her hand, swallowing hard before saying, "I didn't mean to..."
"Aunt Wu, bring another pair of chopsticks."
