Chapter 159 Disheartened

In order to get closer to Ni An, she drank with Ni An and even saved her life.

And what about Ni An? Not only did she not thank her, she also accused her of having ulterior motives!

Xia Kexing felt that Ni An was heartless and not worth her efforts at all.

She clenched her fists, her molars grinding together.

Hold on!

Xia Kexing took a deep breath, barely suppressing the anger in her heart.

Just as she was about to continue comforting Ni An, Ni An took off her coat and said in a muffled voice, "Thank you for your coat, but don't try to get close to me again."

Xia Kexing held her coat and watched helplessly as Ni An left.

After Ni An completely disappeared from sight, Xia Kexing threw her coat on the ground, yelling, "Idiot!"

"You bitch!"

She stomped on the coat repeatedly in a fit of anger, saying, "I saved you and you ignored me. Did Su Xueya drug you?"

"You ungrateful wretch!"

Still not satisfied, Xia Kexing picked up her coat and threw it angrily into the trash can.

Women like Ni An and Ming Yao should be thrown in the trash to avoid disgusting people!

Hmph, let whoever wants to get closer to Ni An do it, just don't expect her to come!

That idiot Ni An doesn't understand her sacrifices at all!

Xia Kexing was in a bad mood when her phone in her bag vibrated twice.

She angrily took out her phone, but after seeing the WeChat message on the screen, her tightly furrowed brows gradually relaxed.

Mingyao: [What exactly happened?]

Immediately afterward, Mingyao called.

Xia Kexing hung up decisively and sent Mingyao a message: 【It's okay, I won't bother you anymore.】

One minute later, Mingyao replied: 【Okay.】

Xia Kexing skillfully long-pressed the message, clicked delete, and left no trace in the message history.

Looking at the WeChat messages, Xia Kexing's lips curled into a strange smile.

Even a hero rescuing a damsel in distress couldn't move Ni An, so what about destroying her?

She looked at Mingyao's WeChat profile card with great interest and said leisurely, "Ni An, this time I will make you and Su Xueya completely break up!"

The next day, at the Pei family mansion.

While eating breakfast, Mingyao glanced at her phone again.

The message was still stuck on the word "okay" she had sent.

Ni An didn't send any more messages all night.

Mingyao was worried. Ni An had sent so many messages and made so many phone calls last night; he must have really encountered some problem.

Unfortunately, when Ni An sent the message for help, she was taking a shower.

By the time Ni An finished showering and came out, ten minutes had passed since she sent the last message for help.

Mingyao replied to the WeChat message first, but no one replied.

She dialed the number again, but no one answered.

Mingyao was getting anxious and sent another WeChat message.

Ni An did reply to the message, but it was a bit strange; it felt different from her usual self.

This feeling left Mingyao feeling completely bewildered.

She didn't think about it too deeply, but when she checked the news again this morning, she felt a vague sense of unease.

Mingyao was worried, so she called Ni An on her way to the company.

Just as I was about to hang up, the call was answered.

"Sister Su, what's wrong?" Ni An's voice was hoarse, like a broken gong.

Mingyao let out a long breath and said softly, "It's nothing. What happened to you yesterday?"

Ni An paused for a moment before saying in a dry voice, "It's nothing."

"good."

Neither of them hung up the phone, and they both fell into an awkward silence.

The first to break the silence was Ni An, who whispered, "Go to work."

Before Mingyao could speak again, Ni An hung up the phone.

Mingyao looked at her phone, which was now off, and sighed.

When she arrived at the company, she subconsciously glanced at the spot where Ni An had stood yesterday.

It's empty there today; there's no one there.

Mingyao was completely relieved; it seemed Ni An had truly thought things through.

They were never meant to be together, so it's best for them to go their separate ways from now on.

After Ni An resigned, she was the only one left at the front desk.

Manager Zhang said they were still recruiting new receptionists and asked her to wait patiently for a few days.

Mingyao didn't really care whether she had companions or not, but she did feel a little lonely without someone chattering in her ear.

The day passed quickly, and Mingyao felt more tired at work than ever before.

In the past, I used to have Ni An gossip to pass the time, which made work feel easier and time flew by.

Habits are indeed terrifying.

Mingyao came out of the company carrying her bag, and Xia Kexing caught up with her in a few steps and blocked her way.

"Su Xueya, on display."

Mingyao looked at Xia Kexing indifferently and asked impatiently, "Is there something you need?"

Xia Kexing crossed her arms, raised her chin, and stared intently at Ming Yao, "What exactly is your relationship with President Pei?"

"What my relationship with him is none of your business."

Although she was impatient, she still managed to force a smile.

"Hehe, Su Xueya, don't pretend to be a green tea b*tch in front of me!"

"You can fool others with this, but you can't fool me!"

She pointed at Mingyao and said confidently, "Sooner or later, I will expose your true colors!"

Mingyao responded with an "oh," too exhausted to argue with Xia Kexing.

"Do as you please."

Just as she was about to walk past Xia Kexing, her phone rang in her bag.

Mingyao took out her phone and was somewhat surprised to see the incoming call.

Didn't Ni An say she wouldn't contact me anymore? Why did she call me first?

Just as Ni An was about to turn back, Xia Kexing suddenly bumped into her shoulder.

Mingyao cried out in pain as her phone fell to the ground, shattering into pieces.

"It was an accident, I can pay for it."
