Chapter 190 The Real You

“Ni An, my biggest regret is that I became friends with you.”

You don't deserve it!

Ni An roared, "I'm not a rat!"

"Su Xueya, it's all your fault!"

"If it weren't for you, I would be Mrs. Lin now!"

Mingyao felt that Ni An was pathetic.

She still believes that Lin Bin truly loves her.

Mingyao said jokingly, "How pathetic."

Mingyao's words deeply stung Ni An.

Her face contorted in rage, she struggled with all her might, screaming, "Su Xueya, what gives you the right to stand on your moral high ground and accuse me?"

"You ruined me!"

As Ni An shouted, she lay on the ground and began to cry.

Her life was completely ruined; Lin Bin would never love her again.

As if her soul had been ripped out, Ni An was dragged away by the bodyguards, and Ming Yao's body immediately went limp.

She had just gotten the strength from who-knows-where to scold Ni An.

Just as she was about to fall, Pei Siyu caught her arm.

Mingyao leaned limply against Pei Siyu's chest and said with difficulty, "President Pei, I can't stand up."

Pei Siyu picked Mingyao up again.

She nestled in his arms, inhaling the minty scent emanating from him.

She could even hear Pei Siyu's strong and powerful heartbeat.

"Thank you, Mr. Pei."

Pei Siyu tightened his grip without warning.

He lowered his eyes, his gaze towards Mingyao somewhat complicated.

Mingyao paused, then looked at him in surprise and asked, "Mr. Pei, is there something on my face?"

Pei Siyu withdrew his gaze and walked away swiftly.

His voice was deep and had a captivating magnetism: "Don't come to see such a dangerous person alone again."

"If you find anything wrong, you can come to me."

Mingyao nodded thoughtfully and replied sweetly and softly, "Okay."

Her soft, sweet voice made Pei Siyu frown.

“Su Xueya,”

Mingyao blinked her big eyes, looking at him with a puzzled expression.

Pei Siyu looked at her with a hint of doubt: "What exactly is your true nature?"

His eyes were sharp and penetrating.

Mingyao's heart skipped a beat, and a bad premonition arose spontaneously.

Pei Siyu probably hasn't noticed anything amiss.

She began to recall what had happened at Ni An's house.

She acted too aggressively when confronting Ni An.

Mingyao bit her lip, feeling somewhat annoyed.

She angered Ni An at the time and completely forgot that Pei Siyu was still by her side.

What should we do now?

Mingyao's eyes flickered, and she grinned, looking at Pei Siyu with a wronged expression: "President Pei, how could you say that?"

"I am my most authentic self in front of you."

She looked at Pei Siyu with an earnest expression, lying without even thinking.

She tried her best to appear sincere and gentle, but Pei Siyu's face still grew colder inch by inch.

He glared at Mingyao, then coldly placed her on the back seat.

Mingyao: "..."

Was there anything wrong with her answer just now? I hope Pei Siyu isn't angry.

Mingyao pouted and pretended to be scared, shrinking into a corner of the car.

She glanced quickly at Pei Siyu's gloomy face and asked cautiously, "Mr. Pei, do you hate me?"

Pei Siyu stared ahead, his coldness emanating from him as if he wanted to keep everyone at arm's length.

Mingyao glared at the man.

She's clearly angry, but she won't admit it!

Mingyao is now certain that Pei Siyu is powerless against her coquettishness.

So she moved closer to Pei Siyu.

Pei Siyu's face remained gloomy, with a dark cloud hanging between his brows.

Mingyao tugged at his sleeve before asking, "President Pei, please don't hate me, okay?"

Her eyes were red-rimmed, and her pupils were misty.

Seeing that Pei Siyu remained unmoved, Mingyao pinched the corner of his sleeve: "President Pei, I'm so scared that you're angry."

The assistant, who was driving, shivered and glanced at Mingyao and Pei Siyu through the rearview mirror.

Pei Siyu's expression was stern: "Special Assistant!"

The assistant was startled and immediately looked away from the car to focus on driving.

Mingyao was also frightened by Pei Siyu's somewhat displeased voice and dared not act coquettishly anymore.

Back at the Pei family mansion, Pei Siyu entered the house first, knocking Mingyao down behind him from a distance.

Mingyao was sullen.

Is her acting cute really that annoying?

He's had a stern face ever since he came back; anyone who didn't know better would think someone owed him a lot of money.

Should we do something to attract his attention?

Mingyao was so engrossed in her thoughts that she inadvertently stepped into a small pit.

"Ouch—"

The sharp pain in her ankle brought tears to Mingyao's eyes.

When did this hole appear at the entrance?!

Mingyao was furious and was about to unleash her fury on the ditch when Pei Siyu's anxious voice came: "Are you alright?"

His voice was full of worry, and Mingyao's heart fluttered.

"President Pei, I'm fine."

As she said this, tears streamed down her face like pearls from a broken string.

The next moment, Mingyao's body soared into the air.

She gasped and instinctively wrapped her arms around Pei Siyu's neck.

Princess Pei Siyu carried her and strode into the living room.

Wu Ma brought over a medicine box, and Pei Siyu took out Yunnan Baiyao and sprayed it twice on Mingyao's swollen ankle.

"Be more careful next time."

Pei Siyu's gaze toward her turned even colder once more.

As he got up to leave, Mingyao quickly grabbed his sleeve.

"President Pei, what's making you angry with me?"
