Mingyao said she was welcome and went to pick out other fruits.
When it was time to pay the bill, Mingyao ran into the old lady again.
The old lady had a good temperament; her smile was kind, and her sadness was heartbreaking.
Mingyao noticed that when the vendor weighed the fruit he bought for the old lady, the numbers on the electronic scale flashed twice.
Mingyao looked closely and found that the weight on the electronic scale had changed from 5000 to 5500.
As the old lady fumbled for her wallet, Mingyao rushed forward.
She pointed her phone camera at the electronic scale, lifted the fruit first, and put it down again after the scale reached zero.
Her movements were so swift that the old lady and everyone in front of her were stunned.
Pears of the same weight, one time 4500 and the other time 5500.
The old lady looked at Mingyao in confusion: "Young lady, what are you doing?"
Those in front of Mingyao mistakenly thought she was cutting in line and expressed their dissatisfaction.
"How can someone so young be so immoral? Go back now, and don't cut in line!"
What's wrong with young people these days?
Amidst the chorus of criticism, the merchant noticed that Mingyao was constantly watching the electronic scale, worried that her little trick would be exposed.
He snatched the pear from the old lady and, acting as a champion of justice, began to scold Mingyao.
"Hurry up and get to the back of the line!"
"Don't think you can get special treatment just because you're young and pretty!"
The shopkeeper, with a stern face, kept trying to drive Mingyao away.
Other customers chimed in, "Young lady, everyone's standing here, it's not right for you to cut in line!"
"Yes, and the old lady hasn't paid the bill yet."
The merchant pressed his advantage: "Young lady, if you continue to be so unreasonable, I won't do business with you anymore!"
Get out of here right now!
Customers gave the owner a thumbs up, praising him for his strong principles.
Mingyao curled her lips and said sarcastically, "Boss, are you in such a hurry to get rid of me because you're afraid I'll expose you?"
Hit the nail on the head, the boss flew into a rage: "Can't you keep your mouth shut? You just spout nonsense!"
"Get lost! I won't do business with a morally corrupt person like you!"
Mingyao almost burst out laughing. She realized that the boss was making money through dishonest means, which was a sign of her own moral depravity.
She looked at her boss with great interest. "If I were morally corrupt, wouldn't you be sent to hell?"
Mingyao's words sparked public outrage, and everyone began to criticize her.
"Young lady, you should have a conscience when you do things! You were in the wrong first, so why are you cursing the boss?"
Another person chimed in, "Yeah, so vicious at such a young age, how did her parents raise her?"
The accusations came like a tidal wave, and a large crowd of onlookers gathered outside the shop.
Unaware of the truth, they pointed fingers at Mingyao.
The old lady, who had been silent all along, said slowly, "The young girl didn't cut in line; she was weighing my pears."
“The girl must have her reasons for doing this.”
When the old lady spoke up for Mingyao, the boss panicked.
With a dark expression, he threw down an example and pointed the finger at the old lady and Mingyao.
"Were you sent by the fruit shop across the street to cause trouble?"
"You're just jealous of my business and you're trying to cause trouble? Wouldn't it be better if we all made money together peacefully?"
The boss's mood changes as fast as flipping through a book; he can fabricate stories off the top of his head.
Now it was the passersby's turn to be confused, not knowing who to speak up for.
The boss didn't want things to escalate, so he refused to do business with the old lady and Mingyao and told them to disappear immediately.
"Boss, you can let me leave."
Mingyao looked at the boss with a forced smile, "Explain why you tampered with the electronic scale."
The boss, his face tense, snapped, "Nonsense!"
"You're spouting nonsense!"
The boss grabbed a broom and tried to kick Mingyao and the old lady out, saying, "If you don't get out, I'll use my weapon!"
Mingyao took out her phone and snapped a picture of her boss, whose eyes were wide with rage.
"Here, please continue."
"When the police arrive, this will be all evidence."
“I told the police that the boss was making money off customers by cheating them and was also beating up women and the elderly.”
"Let's see if the police are on my side or yours."
The onlookers looked at each other in bewilderment, and then began to discuss the matter.
The customers still in line couldn't care less about gossip and asked Mingyao to confirm her story.
The boss remained calm and told everyone to come and weigh themselves.
"I've been doing business with a clear conscience all these years!"
"If the electronic scale is faulty, may I die a horrible death!"
At this point, some customers even bought a new scale to compare with the owner's electronic scale.
The result was obvious: the two weighed exactly the same.
The first customer to verify the situation began to advise Mingyao to apologize, saying, "Young lady, let's just consider this a misunderstanding. Apologize to the boss and the matter will be over."
Other customers also demanded that Mingyao apologize, and some even accused her of speaking without evidence.
Everyone was speaking up for the boss, so he snorted, looked at Mingyao smugly, and said in a pretentious manner, "Considering you're still young, I'll let bygones be bygones today."
"As long as you apologize in public and post an apology letter online, this matter will be over."
Mingyao calmly took out her phone, a bright smile on her face.
"There must still be people who don't know that electronic scales can be operated remotely, right?"
Mingyao took out a recorded video, in which the changes in the electronic scale could be clearly seen.
The boss froze, his eyes filled with panic.
Everyone who watched the video looked rather grim.
All of these unsuspecting onlookers were fooled by the boss!
The boss looked pale and knew he couldn't hide it anymore, so he apologized to Mingyao with great humility.
