Normally, she would be overjoyed to have such a cute little rascal clinging to her.
Unfortunately, I have urgent matters to attend to right now, and I simply cannot bring the little one with me.
Mingyao half-squatted down and gently pinched the little radish's chubby cheek, "Be a good boy and listen to me, okay?"
Little Radish's lips drooped, and he stared longingly at Mingyao, his clear black and white eyes welling up with tears.
The next second, he burst into tears.
"I don't want my sister to leave, I don't want her to!" Little Radish cried desperately, hugging Mingyao tightly and pleading, "Don't leave me."
Little Radish cried so hard he could barely speak a few words.
Mingyao's ears were hurt by his crying. Why did this little guy keep bothering her?
The policewoman tried everything to amuse him, but the little boy ignored her and kept snuggling into Mingyao's arms.
The policewoman and Mingyao exchanged a glance and sighed helplessly.
"The child doesn't want to stay in the police station. Ms. Su, could you please take him away first?"
"We will contact Ms. Su once we find any clues."
Mingyao was quite helpless. "I have other things to do, and besides, I..." She felt a lump in her throat and said helplessly, "I have no experience in taking care of children. If something happens to the child, how can I take responsibility?"
The policewoman was also caught in a dilemma.
Mingyao glanced at the time on her phone; she couldn't delay any longer!
"Miss, could you please let the child stay at the police station for a while?" she asked anxiously. "I have urgent business to attend to. I will come to the police station to pick him up once I have taken care of it."
The policewoman nodded. "Okay."
Mingyao bent down and ruffled the little radish's slightly curly short hair. "Little guy, can you wait here for your sister?"
"I'll go take care of things first, and then I'll come pick you up from the police station, okay?"
Little Radish pouted and nodded reluctantly.
With Xiao Luobo Ding's permission, Mingyao gave the policewoman a few more instructions and then dashed out of the police station.
She didn't even bother to hail a taxi and ran towards the Wang Group.
Perhaps she was really in a hurry, because she ran to the intersection without even taking a breath.
Mingyao gasped for breath, then looked at the tall buildings across the street and began to adjust her breathing.
She doesn't exercise much, and after running such a long distance all of a sudden, she almost couldn't catch her breath and passed out.
When the green light came on, Mingyao's legs went weak as she walked towards the zebra crossing.
Her heart pounded fiercely, the beats echoing in her ears. Her cheeks and body grew increasingly hot with each thud.
Mingyao was almost completely exhausted, and the short 20-meter zebra crossing felt incredibly long to her.
As the green light flashed, she was almost finished walking.
"Run!"
Someone shouted, abruptly pulling Mingyao back from her daze.
Following the panicked gazes of the crowd, she looked towards the road on her left.
A minivan sped towards her, and she suddenly widened her eyes and gasped.
--run!
A single word appeared in Mingyao's blank mind after the explosion, but she stood there dumbfounded.
Her limbs seemed to be frozen in place, and she was unable to move her legs no matter what she did.
Just as the van was about to approach Mingyao, a screeching sound of brakes rang out.
Amidst the panic, the van was forced to stop abruptly.
Mingyao remained standing there, still frightened.
The driver of the van, unable to bear it any longer, honked the horn. The sharp, glass-like sound pulled Mingyao back from her chaotic thoughts.
She belatedly looked at the van, which was only 0.01 millimeters away from her legs.
If she had taken just one more small step forward, her body would have been hit and thrown into the air by the van.
Fear belatedly washed over Mingyao like a tidal wave, instantly engulfing her.
Her legs suddenly felt as limp as noodles, and if it weren't for a kind person supporting her, she would have really fallen to the ground.
That was incredibly dangerous.
If the van hadn't stopped in time, she might have really died under it.
Mingyao's heart was pounding, and she patted her chest with lingering fear.
"Are you an idiot?!"
The angry female voice exploded in Mingyao's ears like a thunderclap.
She glanced absently at the beautiful foreign woman who was getting out of the van.
The woman had long, golden, curly hair, and her stiff, professional office attire accentuated her curvaceous figure, giving her a unique charm.
It's her.
Mingyao was surprised; she never expected to meet this woman a second time.
The woman recognized Mingyao at a glance. Her face darkened, and she cursed, "Bad luck!"
After saying that, she opened the car door, her angry eyes shooting out a sharp light, like a knife, that scraped across Mingyao's face.
"Get out of here right now! Can you take responsibility for delaying my business?"
Mingyao immediately walked onto the sidewalk and watched the woman drive away.
After the car disappeared from sight, onlookers began to express their dissatisfaction.
The woman's attitude was terrible, and she also spoke ill of Mingyao, so everyone had nothing nice to say about her.
Mingyao composed herself and, in an effort to cheer herself up, slapped her cheeks hard.
With renewed spirits, she quickly tidied herself up and strode towards the entrance of the Wang Group.
Just then, Mr. Wang walked out of the company with his mobile phone in his hand.
He was wearing a sharp black suit, had a large belly, and was talking to someone on the phone while looking around.
Mr. Wang looks much more refreshed after just a few days.
Taking the opportunity, Mingyao ran forward and greeted Boss Wang, "Boss Wang."
Mr. Wang was so frightened that he stared at her as if he had seen a ghost, stammering, "You, how did you get here?"
"I'm so sorry, I came here to inquire about..."
Before she could finish speaking, Mr. Wang took a few steps back as if he wanted to avoid her, putting distance between himself and Mingyao. "The cooperation between Wang's Group and Haichang Branch has ended."
"Please don't bother me anymore, Miss Su."
Mr. Wang's eyes shot out a cold, piercing gaze, like an ice pick. Mingyao curled her palms and said in a deep voice, "Mr. Wang, is it because your son was kidnapped that you terminated your contract with the Haichang branch?"
Mingyao asked bluntly.
Mr. Wang was startled, and his pupils contracted.
He looked away, nervously touching his face. "I've already blocked the news, how did you know?"
Mingyao understood, "I naturally have my own channels for obtaining information."
"Mr. Wang, are you really going to give in to their coercion?"
Mr. Wang gripped his phone tightly, his eyes blazing with anger. "If my son hadn't been kidnapped, I wouldn't have done this!"
"But do I have a solution?"
Mr. Wang had enjoyed a life of great success, but unexpectedly, he suffered a setback because of his own son.
He took a few steps back, his gaze towards Mingyao growing even colder. "Miss Su, Haidu has plenty of companies that can handle the projects I'm in charge of."
"Miss Su, please don't make things difficult for me."
Mingyao clenched her fists, unwilling to give up so easily. "Mr. Wang, if I help you find your son, can you re-sign the contract with the Haichang branch?"
Even if the hope is slim, she wants to try, hoping that a miracle might happen.
