Chapter 41 Reveals the Mastermind

The next second, she was enveloped in warmth, and her cold body instantly became warm and cozy. Mingyao stared blankly at the suit jacket draped over her shoulders, her heartbeat stopping abruptly.

Pei Siyu sat down beside her without saying a word and coldly ordered, "Go to the city's central hospital."

The assistant glanced quickly at the two of them through the rearview mirror, then started the car and floored the accelerator.

Hospital.

Mingyao sat awkwardly on the hospital bench, quietly scrutinizing Pei Siyu's perfectly sculpted profile.

From the road to the hospital, Pei Siyu kept a straight face and remained silent, revealing no emotion whatsoever.

When Mingyao glanced at him again out of the corner of her eye, she met Pei Siyu's dark, unfathomable gaze.

Ming Yao's heart tightened slightly, then she smiled and said considerately, "Master Pei, you don't need to come with me. Your colleagues are having a dinner party at the rooftop garden in Woye. You should go quickly."

Pei Siyu's eyes flashed with a cold light, his sharp gaze seemingly able to see through everything.

Meeting his gaze, Mingyao tilted her head, puzzled, and asked, "Master Pei, what's wrong?"

Pei Siyu looked down at her, exuding a powerful aura. "What?"

Do you really want me to leave?

Aren't you leaving yet?

Mingyao thought this to herself, but shook her head vigorously like a rattle-drum, "How could that be?"

As her emotions overwhelmed her, her eyes turned red and welled up with tears. "I don't want to cause trouble for Master Pei."

"I'm sorry, it's all my fault for being so stupid."

Mingyao lowered her head like a child who had done something wrong, and choked out with tears in her eyes, "Master Pei didn't like me to begin with, and he'll probably hate me even more in the future."

As she spoke, she wiped away her tears and forced a smile, "But it doesn't matter. No matter how much Master Pei hates me, I will always be good to him."

Pei Siyu glanced at her sideways, and upon hearing this, the corner of his lips twitched slightly. His gaze towards her sharpened, revealing a hint of mockery.

Mingyao's heart skipped a beat.

For some reason, she always had the feeling of being watched.

By the time Mingyao wanted to delve deeper into the meaning behind his gaze, Pei Siyu had already started talking to the doctor.

You must have misread it.

Mingyao exhaled, banishing the jumbled thoughts from her mind.

Because she was physically weak and had inhaled an unknown drug, the doctor advised her to stay in the hospital for a day to observe her condition.

Pei Siyu left the hospital after she was admitted to the ward.

"President Pei, the investigation has been completed."

The assistant's voice deepened as he continued, "Song Heng and the waiter involved have both been taken into custody by our people."

A chill surged in Pei Siyu's eyes, and the temperature around him plummeted to below zero. His powerful aura and icy presence added to the chill and oppression of the night.

The assistant lowered his head and said tremblingly, "We haven't been able to get them to talk yet, but I'll try to find a way as soon as possible."

“No need,” Pei Siyu sneered. “I’ll go and meet him myself.”

In the pitch-black room, Song Heng's hands and feet were tied behind his back, and he was thrown into the corner like trash.

He kept twisting his body and shouting at the top of his lungs into the air.

"Let me go!"

He had just arrived at the underground parking garage of Woye to drive his sports car when two men suddenly jumped out from a corner, put a sack over his head without saying a word, and brought him to this dark room.

"Who on earth dares to kidnap me! Do they even know who my father is?!"

No matter how much he screamed, no one responded.

Song Heng gritted his teeth in anger, "Don't let me find out who you are!"

"Or I'll make you wish you were dead!"

"Is that so?" The two words, tinged with mockery, were spoken softly, as if floating in the air, yet they pierced Song Heng's ears like thorns.

Song Heng shivered and looked to his left, bewildered, following the sound. "Who are you?"

"Who sent you to arrest me?!"

"Let me go right now!"

He became more and more excited as he spoke, spitting everywhere.

With a whoosh, the hood was removed from my head, and a blinding white light shone into my eyes.

As his eyes gradually adjusted to the light, Song Heng's pupils constricted and his face turned pale at a visible speed after he could see the person in front of him clearly.

Staring blankly at the man so close to him, he felt a lump in his throat and couldn't come to his senses for a long time, so much so that his words were trembling, "Pei, President Pei."

Pei Siyu stared coldly into his eyes, "Now that you know it's me, what are you going to do?"

"ah?"

The sudden question caught Song Heng completely off guard. He asked tremblingly, "President Pei, I don't understand what you mean..."

He swallowed hard, terrified that he might upset Pei Siyu.

The assistant suddenly kicked Song Heng in the back of the knee, "Stop playing dumb! Kneel down!"

Song Heng's face was scrunched up like a bitter gourd, and the grown man pleaded with tears streaming down his face, "President Pei, I'm not pretending to be stupid!" He held up three fingers, almost as if he were swearing an oath to the heavens.

"Song Heng, you've got some nerve these days!" Pei Siyu narrowed his eyes, looking down at him with an air of authority that commanded respect without anger.

Meeting the man's angry and fierce gaze, Song Heng's legs trembled. "President Pei, I really don't know what I did to offend you so much!"

He was on the verge of tears. He had no connection with Pei Siyu, so how did he end up offending him?

"It seems Young Master Song won't shed a tear until he sees the coffin!"

The assistant slapped Song Hengdi on the back of the head, causing the latter to fall forward violently, his mind reeling.

He lay prone on the ground, biting his lower lip hard, stubbornly suppressing any sound.

The assistant took out a bottle of Yelanxiang air freshener from Woye and sneered, "Don't you know what you've done wrong?"

Upon seeing this, Song Heng shuddered and pursed his lips into a thin line.

"I'll give you one more chance." Pei Siyu said each word slowly and deliberately, each word like an icicle piercing Song Heng's chest.

Pei Siyu glanced at him, then raised her foot and stomped on Song Heng's hand.

Song Heng screamed with a contorted expression, his cries piercingly mournful.

"I...I'll talk." Seeing that he had given in, Pei Siyu moved away without making a sound.

Song Heng pursed his lips, clutching his injured hand, and said tremblingly, "President Pei, please spare my life!"

Pei Siyu is even more formidable than rumored. No matter how outrageous he is, he wouldn't dare gamble with his life.

Song Heng lowered his head, completely giving up the struggle, and stammered, "Yes, it was Madam Pei who told me to do this."

He was annoyed that Mingyao was playing him like a monkey, but he didn't intend to do anything about it.

Even after Madam Pei called, he never considered taking revenge on Mingyao.

“Madam Pei told me to teach Miss Su a lesson, preferably…” He paused, glanced timidly at Pei Siyu, and then choked out, “preferably to have a relationship with her.”

"Madam Pei promised me that she would represent the Pei family in cooperating with the Song family after I finished my business."

There are countless powerful families in Haidu, and nouveau riche families like the Song family are always considered inferior to them.

Therefore, the Song family tried every means to establish connections with powerful clans, but only Madam Pei was willing to extend an olive branch to them.
