The waiter shook his head. Xia Kexing was about to go look for it when the waiter stopped her.
"Miss, you haven't paid for your private room yet."
Xia Kexing patiently looked at the waiter with a forced smile and said, "I have other things to do. Can I wait a while before paying the bill?"
"no.,"
Xia Kexing: "..."
Xia Kexing glared fiercely at the waiter.
If she hadn't been in such a hurry to find Ni An, she would have punched the waiter.
Xia Kexing impatiently threw a bank card at the waiter, who swiped the card before letting her leave.
Xia Kexing, carrying her bag, began searching for Ni An in the bar.
The bar was bustling with people, and the dance floor was filled with frenzied dancing.
Xia Kexing searched back and forth twice, but still couldn't find Ni An.
Xia Kexing also called Ni An several times, but no one answered.
What on earth is she doing?
Why did you leave without saying a word?
Xia Kexing gripped her phone tightly, wishing she could grab Ni An right then and there and slap her across the face.
That jerk will only cause trouble!
Just as Xia Kexing was running out of the bar, her phone vibrated.
Thinking it was Ni An calling, she quickly took out her phone.
Lin Bin: [Go quickly.]
Xia Kexing was furious and cursed, "Where are you going? What are you going to do?! Can't you speak properly?!"
Xia Kexing called Lin Bin and called him for a long time, asking him if he knew where Ni An was.
She shouted herself hoarse, but couldn't hear what Lin Bin said.
The bar was too noisy.
Unable to find Ni An, Xia Kexing was already furious. On top of that, the signal was bad and her voice was intermittent and hard to hear, which wore down her patience.
She was so angry she was grinding her teeth, wishing she could just smash her phone to pieces.
A last shred of reason reminded her that she hadn't found Ni An yet, so she suppressed her anger and stormed out of the bar with her phone in hand.
After leaving the bar, Xia Kexing dialed Ni An's number again with a dark expression.
After two beeps, a cell phone rang from a nearby alley.
At first, Xia Kexing didn't pay attention; she was only angry that she couldn't get through to Ni An on the phone.
The phone rang again when I called a second time.
Xia Kexing followed the sound into the alley, and her pupils constricted as she recalled the text message Lin Bin had sent her.
Lin Bin wouldn't hire someone to bully Ni An, would he?
She called Ni An while chasing the ringing phone into the alley.
In the dimly lit alley, several figures moved about, and laughter could be heard from time to time.
Xia Kexing put down her phone and took a few steps inside.
Soon, she heard Ni An's sobbing amidst the laughter of several men.
"Please, please let me go."
Xia Kexing's lips twitched twice, feeling both admiration and disgust for Lin Bin.
What exactly was his purpose in having someone bully Ni An?
Was it merely to have her "play the hero" and rescue Ni An? To get closer to her?
It's probably not that simple.
Xia Kexing knew this was a charade orchestrated by Lin Bin, and shouted angrily, "What are you doing! Let her go right now!"
Xia Kexing held up her phone camera and shouted, "I'm warning you, I've recorded it!"
“Your faces are already in my camera's view, and I've called the police!”
The thugs looked at each other in bewilderment, then ran away in a flash.
Ni An, who was curled up in the corner, swayed and fell to the ground.
Her clothes had been torn to shreds by several thugs, her body was covered in bruises, and her face was streaked with tears.
Xia Kexing looked at the pieces of clothing on the ground and then looked at Ni An, who was crying with tears streaming down her face, with a mocking expression.
If Ni An knew that the person who arranged all of this was the man she loved most, what would her reaction be?
Xia Kexing took off her coat and threw it at Ni An.
"Crying and sobbing is pointless. Let's go. If the thugs come back soon, the two of us won't be able to escape."
Ni An paused, somewhat dazed.
She wrapped her coat tighter around herself and managed to stand up by holding onto Ni An's hand.
Xia Kexing glanced at her sideways, secretly amused, but her face showed a worried expression.
Just as Ni An stood up, the cell phone on the ground lit up.
Xia Kexing glanced at Ni An, then looked at the phone on the ground, and asked, "Don't you want the phone anymore?"
Without turning her head, Ni An simply crossed her arms and said coldly, "No, I don't want it."
Xia Kexing pouted, but still picked up the phone.
Just then, a text message popped up on the screen.
Mingyao: [Where are you now?]
Xia Kexing secretly glanced at Ni An out of the corner of her eye.
Ni An walked ahead listlessly, her eyes vacant, like a walking corpse, completely unaware of her.
She swiped the screen twice and glanced at the message Ni An sent to Ming Yao.
After Ni An encountered the thugs, she made ten phone calls to Ming Yao, as well as many WeChat messages and WeChat calls.
Through the messages sent by Ni An, Xia Kexing could see that Ni An's hopeful helplessness had turned into hatred and resentment.
By the time Mingyao replied, Ni An was already disheartened.
very good.
Xia Kexing curled her lips into a smile, long-pressed the message Mingyao sent, and clicked delete.
Xia Kexing wiped the dust off the screen and said symbolically to Ni An's back, "Your phone is still working perfectly!"
"I'll hold it for you."
Ni An seemed not to hear, and continued walking forward on her own.
Xia Kexing pouted, put away her phone, and followed after her.
Ni An's face was ashen, with dried tear tracks mingling on her cheeks.
At the end of the alley stood a dilapidated streetlamp, its pale light illuminating Ni An's face and making her appear even more bloodless.
