Serena's smile faded slightly. "I think that day will never come."
Suddenly, Little Radish tugged at Mingyao's hand, "Sister, he's here."
A Mercedes-Benz pulled up outside the Wang Group building, and Mr. Wang, dressed in a custom-made suit, got out of the car looking haggard.
Serena tidied herself up, turned around, and said, "Mr. Wang, we've been waiting for you for a long time."
Mr. Wang smiled and then belatedly noticed Mingyao and Pei Siyu.
He was clearly surprised. "I didn't expect President Pei and Miss Su to be here as well."
"However, it is somewhat inappropriate for the two of you to come."
For his son's sake, he made up his mind to sign a contract with Kex Technology Company.
Serena glanced at Pei Siyu sideways, a deeper meaning in her eyes. "Mr. Wang, the signing time is almost here."
"Please ask Mr. Wang to remove any irrelevant people to avoid affecting the harmony between the two parties."
Meeting Serena's smug gaze, Mingyao felt a tightness in her chest, as if a stone was pressing down on her.
She was unwilling to give up so easily.
Even if there's only a sliver of hope, I'll give it a shot!
“Mr. Wang,” Mingyao stepped forward, staring intently into Mr. Wang’s eyes, “I hope you can reconsider.”
Mr. Wang frowned, his lips moving as if he was about to say something, but Mingyao interrupted him: "Kesi Technology Company spared no effort to acquire the projects in Mr. Wang's hands. Didn't Mr. Wang ever suspect Kesi Technology Company's ulterior motives?"
"In the past six months, Kex Technology has been acquiring technology companies in different countries, and their purpose is obvious."
As she spoke, she took a breath, her expression becoming even colder and more stern. "Mr. Wang, do you have any backbone? Knowing the ambitions of Kexi Technology, are you willing to let them acquire you?"
"If they succeed, Haidu's technology industry will face a devastating blow!"
Mingyao's voice wasn't loud, but her words were firm and powerful.
The noise in the hall stopped abruptly, and countless eyes turned to her, including Pei Siyu's.
Pei Siyu looked at Mingyao with a hint of surprise in his eyes.
Is this why she relentlessly pursued the project in Mr. Wang's hands?
He once thought that Mingyao was clinging to the project in Boss Wang's hands in order to please him, but he never expected that she had thought of this.
It seems this woman is not only cunning but also intelligent; she's a smart person.
"Clap clap clap—" Boss Wang suddenly clapped his hands, the crisp sound standing out in the hall.
Mingyao frowned, her heart pounding like a drum.
She knew that there was a large element of gambling involved in saying those words.
Birds die for food, and people die for wealth. There are almost no merchants in this world who would throw away the meat in their mouths for the sake of so-called carelessness or good intentions.
Saying these words proves that she has run out of ideas.
"I never expected Miss Su to be such a righteous person."
Mr. Wang looked at her with a smile, then changed the subject, "Unfortunately, I'm a businessman."
"Businessmen pursue profit; national righteousness is worthless to me."
Mr. Wang's words were like a bucket of ice water poured over Mingyao's head, chilling her to the bone.
The last glimmer of hope was utterly crushed.
“Some people really don’t know their place.” Serena raised her chin arrogantly, her gaze towards Mingyao filled with disdain and mockery. “Boss Wang, that’s where you’re wrong.”
"How can we let shady characters sneak into such an important occasion?"
Mr. Wang's face was plastered with a fawning smile. "Miss Serena is right."
His mood changed as quickly as flipping through a book; he immediately called security and ordered them to kick Mingyao and Pei Siyu out of the company.
Is it really impossible to change the future?
Despite putting in so much effort, it all came to nothing in the end.
Mingyao's eyes welled up with tears; she couldn't accept this outcome.
Serena and the other executives of Kex Technology looked at Mingyao and Pei Siyu with utter mockery, as if they were watching clowns.
A feeling of powerlessness spread from the heart to every part of the body.
Suddenly, my hand felt warm.
Mingyao paused for a moment, then looked up at Pei Siyu beside her.
His large hand had somehow enveloped hers.
Unlike the coldness of her palms, Pei Siyu's hands were exceptionally warm, inexplicably making her feel at ease.
Mr. Wang looked at Mingyao and Pei Siyu with a hint of apology in his eyes, "Mr. Pei, Miss Su, I'm sorry!"
Just as the security guards surrounded Mingyao and Pei Siyu, Little Radish Ding, who had been hiding behind Mingyao, suddenly appeared.
He stood in front of Mingyao, staring intently at the approaching security guards. "Anyone who dares to touch my sister! I'll fight you all!"
Mingyao was startled. "What are you doing?"
She grabbed Little Radish's hand and pulled him back, afraid that he would be hurt by the security guards.
Little Radish Ding, emboldened by who-knows-where, clenched his fist and refused to budge no matter how Mingyao pulled him.
The security guards looked at the half-human-sized boy, exchanged glances, and hesitated.
Seeing the security guards standing there, not making a move, Serena urged impatiently, "What are you all standing there for?"
"The signing deadline is fast approaching, can you afford to delay it?"
One of the bolder security guards stepped forward and grabbed the little radish.
At the critical moment, Boss Wang shouted, "Don't touch him!"
Serena was extremely dissatisfied, "Boss Wang, what do you mean by this!"
"The signing time is almost here."
Ignoring Serena's complaints, Mr. Wang pushed her aside and rushed to Little Radish.
The moment Mr. Wang saw the little boy's face clearly, his eyes turned red. "My son! He's my son!"
