Chapter 130 Questioning

The students erupted in an uproar.

"Su Xueya, you're amazing!"

"Yes, when did you get married?"

The students' eyes widened as big as walnuts, filled with astonishment.

They bombarded Mingyao with questions, surrounding her in a flurry.

Mingyao feigned shyness and replied to her classmate, "I've been married for a while now."

"Su Xueya, you've been hiding your true intentions for too long!"

Another classmate chimed in, "Yeah, I'm even your WeChat friend, and I've never seen you post anything like this before."

"Hey, Su Xueya, what's your husband like? What does he do for a living?"

The students' questions came one after another, like countless flies buzzing around my ears.

Mingyao grinned and gave her classmates a forced laugh.

She can't very well say that her husband is Pei Siyu.

Seeing how curious her classmates were, Mingyao secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

She was glad that she hadn't revealed her relationship with Pei Siyu to any of her classmates, otherwise they would have asked even more sensational questions.

"I don't post on WeChat Moments because my husband is quite low-key and doesn't want too much attention on our wedding."

"I'm so sorry."

"My husband's identity..."

She paused for a moment before saying, "He's just a very ordinary man."

The students persisted, asking questions until they got an answer.

Mingyao had a bit of a headache, wondering why they were so curious.

Just as Mingyao was wondering how to respond to her classmates' enthusiasm, Li Haonan stepped forward.

He stood in front of Mingyao to calm the other students down.

"Don't pry too much."

"Su Xueya is at a loss for words when you ask her questions."

Mingyao felt a deep sense of gratitude towards Li Haonan. If it weren't for her, she would have been skinned alive by her gossipy classmates.

The students pouted in dissatisfaction, but after Li Haonan stepped forward, they didn't dare to ask any more questions.

"Su Xueya, why don't you bring your husband to meet us next time?"

Some students were still persistent and wanted to find out more.

Mingyao nodded with a slight smile, thinking helplessly, "If they knew my husband was Pei Siyu, they probably wouldn't dare to sit down and eat."

Don't take what your classmates say to heart.

Li Haonan's voice pulled Mingyao back from her chaotic thoughts.

Mingyao composed herself and thanked Li Haonan.

Li Haonan is the class monitor and the most authoritative person in the class.

The students listened to him for one reason: Li Haonan was fair and impartial, and he always judged the matter, not the person.

Secondly, there's Li Haonan's family background.

Li Haonan's father is the mayor of Haidu City, making him a true second-generation official, and a rather unpretentious one at that.

Many boys and girls were eager to date Li Haonan when he was in school, and now that they've graduated, his classmates are even more eager to cling to him.

Unfortunately, Li Haonan is an impenetrable fortress with a straightforward personality, so he doesn't care who might try to befriend him.

Because of this personality, Li Haonan doesn't have many friends, but it's also because of this personality that his classmates admire him.

"But you're being really unfair."

Li Haonan chuckled, "You got married without even telling your class monitor."

Mingyao was stunned; she hadn't expected Li Haonan to want to attend her wedding.

"I thought the class monitor wouldn't like to associate with someone like me."

“Who hasn’t made mistakes when they were young? And you’ve changed so much now, which makes me, as the class monitor, very happy.”

"How about this?"

Li Haonan took out his phone. "Let's exchange contact information and invite me to your one-month celebration."

“I’ll bring my classmates to attend, and then I’ll make up for the wedding and full moon celebration for you.”

Li Haonan was very sincere, making Mingyao feel a little embarrassed to refuse.

She had just saved Li Haonan's contact information when a phone call popped up on her screen.

The caller was none other than Pei Siyu!

Mingyao glanced at Li Haonan subconsciously and quickly pressed the mute button.

Fortunately, Li Haonan was looking down at his phone and didn't notice her caller ID.

Otherwise, her relationship with Pei Siyu would be exposed!

Noticing Mingyao's gaze, Li Haonan looked up and asked, somewhat puzzled, "What's wrong?"

"nothing."

She cleared her throat and said apologetically, "It's getting late, and my husband texted me to go home."

"Well, I'll stop here for now, I have to go."

Mingyao looked at Li Haonan again, and thanked him with a bright smile, "Thank you, class monitor. I will definitely contact you when my child has his one-month celebration!"

Seeing Mingyao preparing to leave, the classmates asked, "Xiaoxue, are you going to rent now?"

"Is it because your husband is urging you to come home?"

Mingyao nodded with a wry smile and apologized to her classmates again.

"I'm so sorry to have spoiled everyone's fun."

"Have fun, everyone. I'll pay for everything at today's party."

A cheer erupted from the students, and one of the girls asked curiously, "Su Xueya, you're being so generous lately, is it because of your husband...?"

"No, no, my husband is an ordinary person."

Mingyao was talking to her classmates when she quickly glanced at her phone.

Pei Siyu had already called twice, and Mingyao felt a chill run down her spine.

But she was still in the private room and didn't dare to return Pei Siyu's call.

We can't waste any more time.

As soon as Mingyao took a step, her wrist suddenly tightened.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she turned around suspiciously, looking at Du Feng with a puzzled expression.

What's gotten into him this time?
