Mu Zhi carefully stepped into the room, and her gaze was drawn to Xuan Ming sitting on the bed.
He had changed into a set of understated yet comfortable casual clothes, the front of which was slightly open, revealing a white lining underneath.
His long, jet-black hair was casually draped over his shoulders, with a few strands falling across his chest and swaying gently as he turned the pages of his book.
At this moment, Xuanming was leaning against the headboard, holding a thick book in his hands and reading it intently.
His eyes were calm and deep, as if he were completely absorbed in the world of the book.
But only he himself knows how much of it he has actually absorbed.
The sunlight streamed through the window and bathed him in a soft golden glow.
This made him look even more handsome and dashing, with an extraordinary temperament.
Seeing this, Mu Zhi's heart stirred. She stepped forward and said softly, "Your Highness, why don't you go for a walk?"
As soon as these words were spoken, the temperature inside the hall suddenly plummeted, the atmosphere turned icy, and the hall fell into a deathly silence.
Mu Zhi felt a chill run down her spine.
Is there anything wrong with her question?
Xuan Ming's expression remained calm, while Yingzi's demeanor grew increasingly cold.
Xuan Ming closed the book, looked up and stared intently at Mu Zhi, "Mu Zhi, what do you mean?"
Mu Zhi frowned slightly. Did she need a reason to go out for a walk?
Well then, let's make one up right away.
"It's because the food here is so exquisite and delicious that I couldn't stop eating it and ended up eating too much."
So I thought I'd go for a walk to digest my food, but I'm not familiar with this place, so I'm going to shamelessly ask Your Highness to come along.
“Let Shadow accompany you.” Shadow spoke immediately the moment Mu Zhi finished speaking.
Mu Zhi gave her a disapproving look.
She stared at the shadow. "But I only trust His Highness."
These words startled Xuan Ming slightly.
Mu Zhi immediately realized something was wrong and added, "It's not that I don't trust you, it's just that I'm not familiar with you."
This means that in the palace, she was only familiar with Xuanming, and not with the others.
That sounds interesting.
“Okay, I’ll go with you,” Xuanming said gently.
Shadow remained outwardly calm, but inwardly he was in turmoil.
Since His Highness fell ill, he has rarely stepped out of the palace gates.
Aside from unavoidable court assemblies and visits to the Grand Tutor's residence to discuss important matters.
Is His Highness becoming more and more amiable and easier to talk to?
"Please wait outside for a moment, Muzhi. I'll be there shortly."
Xuanming never referred to himself as "Your Highness" not only to Mu Zhi, but also to his subordinates and even court officials; he always addressed them as "I".
Although he referred to himself as "I," in the eyes of the court officials, referring to himself as "I" was equivalent to referring to himself as "Your Highness."
After all, the fact that this young man ascended the throne and ruled the continent for decades, bringing peace and prosperity to the country, was all because of him.
Even though Xuanming's appearance and voice were gentle, and his heart was kind.
But he never concealed his ruthless methods, and he never showed mercy to foreign enemies.
No emperor is truly benevolent and has never been stained with a drop of blood.
After all, the imperial strategies learned from elementary school to adulthood are never learned in vain.
How weak could someone who has been guarding the Xuancang Continent for decades while battling illness be?
After all, even in its illness and weakness, it still allowed the Xuancang Continent to continue to rule over the other eight continents.
I don't dare to think what it will be like if I recover.
Mu Zhi didn't have to wait long before Xuan Ming came out, but he was sitting in a wheelchair.
Mu Zhi was not surprised by this.
Even when she was at her weakest, she moved around in a wheelchair.
Therefore, it's good that Xuanming is in poor health and needs to use a wheelchair.
"The sun is shining brightly today. Getting some sunshine is good for your health and your mood," Mu Zhi said with a smile.
She wanted to push the wheelchair, but the shadow refused.
The meaning conveyed by Shadow's eyes couldn't be clearer: she has trouble even walking herself, so she shouldn't try to be strong.
Although Mu Zhi was unwilling, she could only give up.
Don't be angry, there's plenty of time in the future.
And so, Mu Zhi walked on one side, while Shadow pushed Xuan Ming on the other, slowly walking around the main hall.
Xuanming hasn't left the house recently.
I tried to go see the Grand Tutor last time, but I couldn't make it.
At first, the sunlight was a bit too bright, but after being pushed around for a while, I felt warm and comfortable all over.
The wonderful feeling of being enveloped by the warm sunshine is like being immersed in a soft and warm ocean, making one feel incredibly comfortable and happy.
Sunlight seems to have a magical power; it is invisible and intangible, yet it can penetrate the skin and reach deep into the bones, warming people's hearts.
It's even more comfortable than staying inside the palace.
Mu Zhi kept observing Xuan Ming's expression out of the corner of her eye.
Seeing his relaxed expression, she slowly said, "When the weather is nice in the future, I'll accompany Your Highness for a walk. Oh, no, I'd like to trouble Your Highness to accompany me for a walk, since I'm only familiar with Your Highness."
Hearing those words again, Xuanming's adaptability was already quite strong.
He nodded slightly, which was taken as an agreement.
So every day after that, Mu Zhi would use all sorts of nonsensical excuses, such as the weather being nice, the flowers blooming in some places, or the flowers withering in others, to ask Xuan Ming to go for a walk.
Xuanming seemed to find the chattering around him quite energetic and was willing to indulge him.
Shadow initially opposed the idea, but as she watched her prince become more and more cheerful, she eventually let Mu Zhi go.
One rainy day, Mu Zhi found an excuse to walk on the corridor.
Xuanming disliked gloomy weather, but he came out with Muzhi once, and they met at the corner of the corridor.
