Saint Chuli frowned slightly, his eyes filled with concern and worry. His deep, slightly hoarse voice rang out again, "How did you get injured like this? Is it serious? Should we see a doctor?"
Sheng Chuhan looked at him, a hint of panic flashing in her eyes. She quickly waved her hand to indicate that she was alright, but the movement seemed so weak, as if she would fall apart if she exerted any force.
Seeing this, Saint Chuli frowned even more deeply. After considering it for a while, he simply picked Saint Chuli up and carried him horizontally.
After Sheng Chuli carried Sheng Chuhan away, the surrounding people immediately erupted in a commotion.
One man stared wide-eyed, his mouth agape. "My goodness! This is the Princess! It's a rare sight to see her, and we've actually bumped into her today. What incredible luck!" He rubbed his hands together excitedly.
The other person was deathly pale, his lips trembling slightly. "Didn't you notice? The princess's expression is strange."
Everyone nodded, a strange emotion welling up inside them.
Just then, another person whispered, "Didn't you hear what the princess said? She said her two brothers fought each other over going to war... What exactly happened? Could it be that the prince really hit the crown prince?"
Upon hearing this, everyone felt a chill run down their spines, and their gazes involuntarily turned towards the direction of the capital.
"The Emperor and Empress both came to the city gate to welcome the army, but His Highness the Crown Prince did not appear. Oh my god, could it be true? Did the Prince beat the Crown Prince?" someone muttered softly. Although the voice was soft, it was like a pebble thrown into a calm lake, stirring up ripples.
The group exchanged bewildered glances, their hearts filled with doubt and speculation, unsure of what consequences this sudden turn of events would bring...
"Are we going to be silenced?" one person asked cautiously, his face pale and his voice trembling, as if the air itself was thick with impending danger.
He looked around, but there was only silence and no response, as if the whole world had fallen into a deathly silence.
Just then, a ghostly figure—Liu Teng—slowly walked over.
He strode forward with steady and powerful steps, each step seemingly striking the tense nerves of everyone present.
Liu Teng's already cold and stern face was now even more gloomy, and his eyes, sharp as an eagle's, swept over everyone present. "No one is allowed to leak what happened today. If you are found out, all of you will be shut up. Do you understand?"
His words were deep and authoritative, as if they carried an irresistible power that inspired fear.
Upon hearing this, the group felt a surge of panic at first, but then they seemed to find some kind of support, which calmed them down a bit.
They nodded hurriedly, their faces beaming with ingratiating smiles, and said in unison, "General Liu, don't worry, we don't know anything."
Seeing their reactions, Liu Teng secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
He was fully aware of the seriousness of the matter; if he was not careful, it could bring him utter ruin.
So he took out a bottle of medicine from his pocket. The medicine had a faint herbal fragrance and was the one that Saint Chuli had just given him.
He handed the medicine bottle to the group, a subtle, complex look flashing in his eyes. "This is what the General asked me to give you. Remember, what you should say and what you shouldn't say."
After speaking, he said no more, turned around and strode away, leaving the few people looking at each other, feeling uneasy.
Not far away, Li An and Shi Jiahe watched this scene, completely stunned.
The prince carried that pretty boy to the carriage.
Is Liu Teng here to clean up the mess?
Upon hearing this, the two exchanged a glance, both seeing shock in each other's eyes.
"His Highness..."
"Shut up, we didn't see anything, we don't know anything."
This night, some people are destined to have a sleepless night.
After being carried into the carriage by Sheng Chuli, Sheng Chuhan was filled with unease and trepidation.
Saint Chuli gently settled her down and then withdrew without hesitation.
The movements were so swift and decisive, as if the decision had already been made.
"There are clothes inside, change your clothes first." Saint Chuli's voice came through the thin carriage curtain to Saint Chuhan's ears, carrying an unquestionable air of authority.
Upon hearing this, countless thoughts flashed through Sheng Chuhan's mind. She thought that as long as she changed her clothes, Sheng Chuli would immediately send her away. That fear made her lose her composure.
So she quickly lifted the curtain, her eyes flashing with stubbornness, and said loudly, "I won't change. I think this dress is fine, there's no need to change it."
Looking at her stubborn appearance, Sheng Chuli couldn't help but sigh slightly. He seemed to be beginning to understand why Sheng Chuyi was always troubled by this younger sister.
He rubbed his temples helplessly, lowered his voice, and said with a hint of headache, "This armor is too heavy. You are injured. Changing into lighter clothes will help you recover. Hurry up and stop being so temperamental, or I'll really have to send you back to the capital."
Seeing this, Sheng Chuhan pouted. Although she was unwilling, she couldn't help but mutter a few words.
However, when she heard the words "send you back to Beijing", her expression immediately tightened and a hint of panic flashed in her eyes.
Then, as if suddenly remembering something, her eyes lit up, and her previously dejected expression instantly turned into excitement. She tentatively asked, "Second Brother, do you mean that as long as I behave, you won't send me back?"
Saint Chuli gazed quietly into her shining eyes, his heart filled with mixed emotions.
After a moment, he nodded silently, which was taken as tacit agreement with her guess.
After that, he stopped talking, simply lowered the curtain, leaving Sheng Chuhan with his back to him, and gently urged her to change her clothes quickly.
Sheng Chuhan said "I understand" and immediately started changing her clothes.
It occasionally let out a cry throughout the process.
"Ouch, that hurts so much! Be gentle, be gentle, don't be impulsive."
"Ouch, my feet and hands hurt. Waaah, this outfit is so hard to take off. How did I even manage to put it on in the first place?"
"Sheng Chuhan, if you keep shouting, I'll have someone send you back to the capital immediately." Sheng Chuli listened to Sheng Chuhan's shouts from outside the carriage, his head buzzing.
Was she afraid that others wouldn't hear her changing clothes?
I should have parked the carriage further away.
"It'll be done soon, brother, don't rush me, it'll be done soon. Please don't send me back to the palace, since I've been so obedient. I've finally made it this far, and if you send someone to take me back, all my suffering will have been for nothing. Ouch, my hands hurt so much, and my arms hurt too."
After muttering to herself, Sheng Chuhan quietly began to change her clothes.
