Chapter 603 My Eldest Brother

"Big brother, you really are my own brother! How can you be so mean to your own brother?" Yun Ziyu muttered to himself as he plopped down in the chair next to Yun Ziheng, not forgetting to glare at Yun Ziheng to express his dissatisfaction and resentment.

Yun Ziheng's lips curled slightly upward, revealing a barely perceptible smile, and he said softly:

"Don't be angry yet. I'm only doing this out of concern for you. To be honest, in my opinion, you could send a few guards to secretly investigate who that person is. It's possible that this is all a scheme deliberately set up by the princess to mislead you. Besides, the princess has lived in the capital for a long time, yet she has never heard of anyone coming to visit her. Now, suddenly someone appears claiming to have come from afar; perhaps this person has some connection to the princess's hometown."

Upon hearing this, Yun Ziyu's previously listless expression vanished instantly, and he became energetic and spirited.

His eyes, like torches, were fixed on Yun Ziheng. He excitedly shouted, "Oh my, big brother, you truly are my dear brother! In crucial moments, we still have to rely on your advice."

"Alright, alright, since that's the case, then please take your leave, brother. I'll arrange for someone to go and gather information right away." Before he finished speaking, Yun Ziyu stood up impatiently, grabbed Yun Ziheng's arm, and shoved him forcefully toward the door without saying a word.

Yun Ziheng was still holding a teacup in his right hand, and wisps of steam rose from it.

As Yun Ziyu pushed Yun Ziheng toward the door, she swiftly snatched the teacup from Yun Ziheng's hand and placed it steadily on the table.

Yun Ziheng was startled by his younger brother's sudden action, and a hint of displeasure instantly appeared on his face: "Yun Ziyu, is this your way of treating guests? I'm just having tea here, what's it to you? If you have your own things to do, just go ahead."

However, Yun Ziyu seemed completely unconcerned about his brother's accusations. He casually pushed Yun Ziheng towards the door, waving his hand dismissively and saying, "Hey, brother, don't hold it against me. What's with all this talk about guests? We're brothers, why bother with all that formality? Besides, your wife's been talking about you at home. Go back and let her know you're safe, so she can rest assured and tell her I'm alright and doesn't need to worry about me anymore!"

Yun Ziheng was stunned for a moment after hearing his younger brother's words, but he quickly came to his senses.

He lowered his head and pondered for a moment, then realized that what Yun Ziyu said made some sense.

So he stopped pressing the matter and nodded, saying, "Alright, in that case, I'll head back now." With that, he turned and walked away.

He walked to the courtyard gate, turned around and saw Yun Ziyu still looking at him. He quickly said, "Don't cause any trouble, or your father will not forgive you. Also, go and see your mother later."

Yun Ziyu nodded repeatedly, "Okay, okay, we'll have dinner together."

Following Yun Qingluo's example, Yun Ziheng made a success gesture and hurriedly left.

Yun Ziyu returned to her room and summoned her guards. "Investigate this person's background and whether the Mo family has written to the princess recently. Find out everything. Remember, do not reveal your identity."

The guard quickly accepted the order and left.

Yun Ziyu gazed quietly at the half-finished wooden puppet placed before her. It lay there peacefully on the table, as if waiting to be given a complete life.

He frowned slightly, took a deep breath, and tried to calm his restless heart.

Then, he walked with firm steps to the table and sat down.

He gently picked up the carving knife, his gaze focused and tender as it fell upon the unfinished puppet. He murmured to himself, "Mo Yuyan, Mo Yuyan, whether you ultimately marry me or not, I have only one wish in my heart: that you may be happy. If you are willing to marry me, then this puppet will become a gift exclusively for you; but if you love someone else and do not wish to marry me, it will still be given to you as a wedding gift."

After saying that, Yun Ziyu raised the corners of his mouth slightly, revealing a bitter smile, and then concentrated on carving the puppet again.

Yun Ziheng hurried back to Qingheng Courtyard.

This courtyard was specially renamed by him when Yuan Qingling married into the mansion.

Upon entering the room, one would see Yuan Qingling sitting upright on a soft couch, flipping through a thick account book.

Yuan Qingling had always known that the Yun brothers had a very deep friendship. In the entire mansion, Yun Ziyu would probably only tell her the truth without any concealment if Yun Ziheng asked him.

Upon seeing Yun Ziheng return, Yuan Qingling quickly looked up and asked, "How did it go? Did you get any clues?"

Yun Ziheng walked closer and gently shook his head, saying, "For some reason, the princess actually wanted Ziyu to find another suitable match, which led to him becoming like that."

As he spoke, Yun Ziheng picked up the teapot on the table and poured Yuan Qingling a cup of fragrant tea.

Upon hearing this, Yuan Qingling looked astonished. She quickly put down the account book in her hand and asked urgently, "Didn't the princess explain the reason? Even if a traitor is sentenced to death, there must be a plausible reason!"
