Early the next morning.
Yun Qingluo and Mo Beichen woke up and quickly washed up.
When we went downstairs, Xiao Yi and the others were already eating breakfast.
"Sister, come and eat! The steamed buns are delicious today!" Xiao Yi called to Yun Qingluo, holding up a steamed bun.
Yun Qingluo glanced at Mo Beichen, "Hmm, it seems I underestimated his adaptability."
The two of them walked down the stairs with smiles and had breakfast with the others.
It's still snowing outside, but not as heavily as it was yesterday.
Snowflakes fell gently, covering the streets that had just been swept.
"The streets are quite deserted, and there are only a few shops open." Yun Qingluo looked at the somewhat deserted streets on both sides of the road.
"Let's go. It's really time to go home. That's great." Yun Qingluo said and walked towards the carriage.
Xiao Yi was happy to see Yun Qingluo, and he was happy too, so he skipped and hopped toward the carriage behind.
Just as Yun Qingluo was about to remind him to be careful, the ground slipped, and Xiao Yi had already fallen.
"Ouch, thank goodness I'm wearing thick clothes, it doesn't hurt at all." Xiao Yi quickly stood up, patted the snow off her body, and made a self-deprecating joke with a slightly embarrassed expression.
Yun Qingluo saw his pink ears, smiled, and without saying anything, got into the carriage.
The capital city, at the city gate.
Yun Qingluo lifted the curtain to peek at the scene at the city gate, but what she saw was a group of people standing at the city gate.
Yun Qinglu blinked and murmured, "Could it be my father and mother?"
Upon hearing this, Mo Beichen paused slightly, his hand poised to turn the page, before turning away to lift the curtain and look towards the city gate.
“It really was my father-in-law and his family, as well as Zeyan and Qianyue.” Mo Beichen’s voice trembled slightly.
Yun Qingluo opened her mouth, wanting to shout, but as soon as she opened her mouth, she choked up.
"Father, Mother, is that you back?" A soft, childlike voice rang out, its sound piercing Yun Qingluo and Mo Beichen's hearts like a lark's song.
Mo Beichen gripped Yun Qingluo's hand tightly. "It's Qian Yue."
"Speed up." Seeing that Yun Qingluo remained silent, Mo Beichen gave the order to the outside world.
The carriage stopped.
Yun Qingluo looked at the curtain and hesitated to lift it for a moment.
Just as Mo Beichen was about to speak, he saw the curtains beside him being lifted.
"Mother, Father, come out quickly! Don't you recognize Zhiyuan?" Mo Zhiyuan was held in Yun Ziyu's arms. She lifted the curtain with one small hand and peeked in to look at Yun Qingluo and Mo Beichen.
When Yun Qingluo saw her daughter's delicate face, tears welled up in her eyes.
"Mother, I'm getting off the carriage now." Yun Qingluo wiped away her tears.
Mo Beichen got out of the carriage before her, then reached out to help Yun Qingluo up.
Yun Qingluo stepped out of the carriage, but missed a step as she got off. Fortunately, Mo Beichen was watching her closely and quickly picked her up.
Yun Qingluo's legs felt weak, and she leaned against Mo Beichen's chest.
"Mother, Mother, Father, it really is you back! Waaah, you're finally back! I missed you so much..." Mo Zhiyuan struggled in Yun Ziyu's arms. As soon as Yun Ziyu put her down, Mo Zhiyuan rushed to Yun Qingluo, hugged her legs, and cried loudly.
Yun Qinglu's tears blurred her vision once again.
She knelt down and held the little princess in her arms as if she were holding a priceless treasure.
"Qianyue, don't cry. It's all my fault. I miss you all so much." The mother and daughter hugged each other and cried their hearts out.
Mo Beichen stood ramrod straight, while Yun Qinghou leaned back against his legs.
He shifted his gaze to the side, his eyes slightly moist.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Mo Junye secretly wiping away tears, so he beckoned, "Mo Junye, come here."
Mo Junye suddenly looked up and saw his father smiling gently at him.
"Father," Mo Junye said, his voice choked with emotion.
He looked down on himself. He had promised himself that he would be a man and not cry, but he couldn't hold back when he saw his father and mother.
It must have been my sister who infected me.
Mo Beichen beckoned again, "Come here."
Mo Junye rushed over quickly, and Mo Beichen caught him.
"You've grown quite a bit taller," Mo Beichen said with a smile, patting Mo Junye's head.
Mo Junye raised his head, his eyes filled with longing, "Father, I miss you all very much."
Mo Beichen nodded, his emotions showing for the first time, "Father misses you and Zhiyuan very much too."
Hearing Zhiyuan refer to herself, I knew the two little ones had stopped using their nicknames, so I simply started calling them by their formal names.
Yun Qingluo turned her head, crying as she pulled Mo Junye into her arms, "Let your mother hug you, Junye has grown so much taller."
Mo Junye was finally held in her mother's arms, and tears welled up in her eyes once again.
“Mother, my sister and I miss you both very much. We listen to our maternal grandmother and grandfather. My sister and I are doing well. Mother, please don’t be sad.” Mo Junye’s words brought tears to Yun Qingluo’s eyes again.
When Yun Qingluo saw the two sensible children, she cried even harder.
Mo Beichen sighed, nodded to Yun's father, who looked worried, and Yun's mother, who was already crying her eyes out, and then patted Yun Qingluo on the shoulder.
"Luo Luo, don't cry. It's cold outside and it's still snowing. Shall we go back to the palace first? The two children are cold too." Mo Beichen was afraid that Yun Qingluo would be lost in her own thoughts, so he brought up the two children.
Yun Qingluo didn't want to pay attention to Mo Beichen's words, but worried that the two children would catch a cold, she quickly wiped away her tears. "Yes, they can't catch a cold, sweet babies, shall we go back first?"
The two children blinked their wet eyes, nestled in Yun Qingluo's arms, and nodded obediently.
Yun Qingluo picked up the two children directly. When Mo Beichen tried to help, the two children clung tightly to Yun Qingluo's collar and wouldn't let go.
Yun Qingluo felt a pang of sadness. "Let me hold you."
"Father, Mother, your unfilial daughter has returned." Yun Qingluo, holding her two children, turned to her parents and said.
He then greeted Yun Ziyu.
"Alright, alright, let's go back first. Let's go to the General's Mansion. Your sister-in-law and older brother are waiting at home. Your sister-in-law has already instructed the kitchen to prepare your favorite dishes." Yun's father waved his hand and, seeing that she was holding the child, quickly told her to get into the carriage.
Yun Qingluo also sobered up a bit and realized that it was not a good place to talk in the freezing cold outside, so she nodded to the two of them, turned around and got back into the carriage.
