Chapter 128 Making a Mistake

Hearing the door open, Song Xingwan turned pale with fright and hurriedly stuffed her suitcase under the bed.

She never expected that Huo Yunting, who had only been gone for half an hour, would return, and a sense of foreboding suddenly arose in her heart.

Just as he was about to leave the room to find out what was going on, he saw Huo Yunting striding towards him with a fierce look on his face.

"You...how come you're back so soon?"

Song Xingwan could feel Huo Yunting's anger, and she was so scared that she didn't dare to breathe loudly.

"If I had come back any later, you probably would have flown away by now, right?" Huo Yunting suddenly pressed her down onto the large bed behind him, his dark eyes blazing with barely contained anger.

"..."

Song Xingwan was held captive by him and could not move. She cowered in fear, her body trembling like a leaf. "Yun Ting, don't do this."

"Don't do anything? Hmm?"

Huo Yunting was so angry that he felt like his lungs were about to explode. His rationality completely left him, and he only wanted to punish her in the most direct way.

"Please get up first, okay? I'm scared of you like this."

Song Xingwan bit her lower lip and looked at him cautiously, afraid that she might accidentally cause him to lose control of his emotions.

"What are you afraid of? Have I mistreated you all this time?"

"No." Song Xingwan shook her head, her brows furrowing subconsciously as she listened intently to the strong smell of alcohol emanating from him.

"If there's no such thing, why are you thinking of running away? Are you planning to elope with that other man?"

"I..."

Song Xingwan pursed her lips, at a loss for words.

Seeing that Song Xingwan remained silent, Huo Yunting assumed that his guess was correct. Coupled with the stimulation of alcohol, he tore her clothes to shreds with a "rip".

"Yun Ting, no... I, I know I was wrong." Song Xingwan realized that Huo Yunting seemed to be serious, and her legs went weak with fear, her bright eyes already filled with tears.

"Why are you crying? I haven't even cried yet, what right do you have to cry?"

"I can't hold back." Song Xingwan was extremely aggrieved, but dared not cry out loud. She stopped sobbing slightly and then mustered up the courage to look at him. "Yun Ting, please let me go."

“I’ve warned you more than once not to play tricks on me. But you’ve ignored my warnings, not only having affairs with other men behind my back, but also planning to leave me. Song Xingwan, I have a heart too. You’re so gentle to everyone, why are you so cruel to me?”

"sorry..."

Song Xingwan sniffed, tears streaming down her face.

She was reflecting on herself, and also feeling heartbroken because of Huo Yunting's sadness.

Unfortunately, Huo Yunting was completely unaware of what she was thinking and only cared about torturing her at will, acting on his instincts.

...

It wasn't until Song Xingwan fainted from the pain that Huo Yunting belatedly realized something was wrong.

A glance at the disheveled sheets revealed only mottled bloodstains.

At that moment, he realized that he had truly misunderstood her.

"Wanwan..."

Huo Yunting panicked for a moment. After changing her into clean clothes, he drove her to the nearest hospital overnight.

Looking sideways at Song Xingwan, who was leaning against the passenger seat with a pale face and remained unconscious, Huo Yunting was filled with extreme regret.

In this situation, he truly wished he could stab himself to death to atone for his sins.

The problem is that once the damage has been done, he is powerless to reverse the situation and can only do his best to make amends.

After hurriedly carrying Song Xingwan to the hospital emergency department, the female doctor on duty was initially envious, thinking that Song Xingwan was so lucky to have met such a handsome and considerate man as Huo Yunting.

But after she finished her routine check-up on Song Xingwan, the envy in her eyes turned into a raging fire.

"Doctor, how is she?"

Seeing that the female doctor's expression was not quite right, Huo Yunting asked anxiously.

"How dare you ask her how she is? She's injured like this, can't you see? Even if you're her boyfriend, you don't have the right to go against her wishes and continue to abuse her, do you?"

The female doctor pointed at the marks on Song Xingwan's wrist, trembling with anger: "These are marks you made by tying your belt, aren't they?"

"Just tell me when she will wake up?"

Huo Yunting's head throbbed with pain, and as he thought about his violent actions, his face showed even more shame.

The female doctor was furious, but she couldn't afford to lose her temper in front of the patient's family, so she just said coldly:

"You'll wake up after a good night's sleep. The wound will take about ten days to heal, so remember to apply the medicine on time and absolutely avoid any further violence."

"..."

Huo Yunting didn't know how to respond, so he silently led Song Xingwan back to the apartment.

When Song Xingwan finally woke up, it was already dawn.

The moment she opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was Huo Yunting's slightly tired face.

Are you hungry?

Seeing that she had opened her eyes, Huo Yunting quickly handed her a thermos of congee, his voice slightly hoarse:

"Let's eat something first."

"Get out, I don't want to see you." Song Xingwan turned her head away, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you."

Huo Yunting knew that an apology would not have any effect whatsoever.

But aside from apologizing to her again and again, he really didn't know what else to say.

"You saved my life, you don't need to apologize to me."

Song Xingwan made a move to get up, but as soon as her feet touched the ground, she was overcome by the intense pain from her wound and fell straight into Huo Yunting's arms.
