Chapter 189 Sister Mo's Reputation Damaged

Zhan Hanjue smiled gently, his voice clear and magnetic:

"It's alright."

After saying that, he resumed his usual aloof demeanor and slowly sat back down in the main seat.

Standing behind Zhan Hanjue, Baihu, dressed in an old-fashioned Zhongshan suit, glanced deeply at Ling Mo, who had been helped up by Song Xingwan, and his thoughts drifted away.

For seventeen years, Zhan Hanjue has lived a life of asceticism.

This was the first time he had ever seen Zhan Hanjue so gentle. If this girl could heal Zhan Hanjue's nearly twenty years of emotional wounds, that would be wonderful…

"MoMo, are you feeling unwell?"

Song Xingwan carefully helped Ling Mo up and asked with concern.

"No, I'm just a little sleepy."

Ling Mo shook his head, and after sitting back on the sofa in a daze, his student ID card in his pocket suddenly fell to the ground with a "thud".

Upon hearing the sound, Zhan Hanjue glanced indifferently at the student ID card on the solid wood floor, which was neither new nor old. When he saw the two words "Ling Mo" printed on the student ID card, his two handsome eyebrows unconsciously furrowed.

Because of Ling Yunlong, he has disliked the surname "Ling" for many years.

However, there is always an exception to every rule.

The girl surnamed Ling in front of me is quite lovable.

As Ling Mo picked up his student ID from the ground, he suddenly realized that Zhan Hanjue's gaze had been fixed on him, and he apologized repeatedly.

"I'm so sorry to have interrupted your conversation."

“Little girls are naturally sleepy, that’s normal, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about,” Zhan Hanjue said gently, taking the cigar that Baihu had lit for him.

"..."

Ling Mo looked into Zhan Hanjue's gentle smiling eyes and felt as if he had appeared in a dream before. The more he looked, the more familiar he seemed.

Noticing Ling Mo's focused gaze, Zhan Hanjue simply smiled gently and casually asked:

Still studying?

"Yes, I'm a senior in high school," Ling Mo answered truthfully.

"Seventeen years old?"

Zhan Hanjue estimated Ling Mo's age, but because of this extremely sensitive number, he was once again plunged into the mire of memories, and a faint sadness suddenly enveloped his sharp, hawk-like eyes.

If Shi Ying had been pregnant with his child back then, she would be seventeen years old now. Unfortunately, he has little luck with children and will probably never have any more in this lifetime.

Seeing Zhan Hanjue's furrowed brows and melancholy expression, Ling Mo pursed her lips and tentatively asked again:

"Mr. Zhan, what's wrong?"

"It's nothing, I was just thinking about some things from the past and got lost in thought."

Zhan Hanjue took a deep breath, trying his best not to recall those painful memories, and began to ask Ling Mo in a gentle tone:

"By the way, which high school did you attend?"

"Linjiang No.1 High School"

"What a coincidence."

Zhan Hanjue suddenly became interested and slowly began to speak:

"More than 20 years ago, I also studied at Linjiang No.1 Middle School for a few months, and I still remember one of my teachers."

It is said that at a young age, he achieved remarkable success in the field of mathematics, thus joining the ranks of mathematicians in China.

Later, unable to tolerate the corrupt atmosphere in academia, he resolutely resigned from his important position at the Institute of Mathematics and became a mathematics teacher at Linjiang No. 1 Middle School.

"Is the teacher Mr. Zhan mentioned Professor Cui Geng?"

Ling Mo thought to himself, looking at the entire No. 1 High School, Cui Geng was the most accomplished in the field of mathematics.

If I'm not mistaken, Zhan Hanjue's math teacher back then should be Cui Geng, the current homeroom teacher of Class F in the third year of high school.

"Exactly. It's embarrassing to admit, but although I fly to Linjiang several times a year, I never remember to go back to No. 1 High School to see him."

Zhan Hanjue recalled his youthful days when he often sported an afro and dedicated almost all his energy to Cui Geng, a math student, and a knowing smile suddenly appeared on his face.

He greatly admires scholars like Cui Geng who are dedicated to academic research.

"Mr. Zhan, rest assured, Mr. Cui is doing well. He happens to be my class's homeroom teacher, so I am quite familiar with his current situation."

Ling Mo had never imagined that Zhan Hanjue and Cui Geng had such a connection. Now, he felt even more that the fate between people was truly mysterious.

"Oh? What a coincidence?"

Upon hearing Ling Mo's words, Zhan Hanjue was even more inspired. He thought that there was no time like the present, so he decided to take advantage of his free time during the day to visit his old friend at No. 1 Middle School.

Thinking of this, he slowly lowered his eyes and glanced at the date on his phone screen, then asked a specific question:

"It's only Friday today. Senior high school students have a lot of classes, you should have some, right?"

"..."

Ling Mo nodded, completely unprepared for Zhan Hanjue's focus to be on whether she had skipped class.

Fortunately, Zhan Hanjue didn't dwell on her skipping class; he simply suggested in a deep voice:

"I happen to have some free time today. I'm planning to go to No. 1 Middle School later to catch up with some old friends. Shall we go together?"

"good."

Ling Mo had originally planned to go back and catch up on her sleep, but seeing that Zhan Hanjue had already said so, she had no choice but to bite the bullet and agree.

During this time, Song Xingwan sat quietly to the side and listened until Zhan Hanjue left the president's office first, at which point she breathed a sigh of relief.

She glanced sideways at Ling Mo, who stood calmly beside her, and said with a face full of admiration:

"MoMo, you're amazing! You weren't nervous at all when facing Chairman Zhan. Chairman Zhan has such a powerful aura; I didn't even dare to look him in the eye."
