Ling Mo had long seen through Shi Yi's character and didn't take the matter to heart.
Shi Huan, however, puffed out her cheeks angrily and said indignantly:
“My brother has gone too far! When I get back, I’ll have a good talk with Mom and Dad about this, and they’ll definitely break his legs.”
"That's really going too far. Is Shi Yi a pig brain? How can he not distinguish between relatives and strangers?" Gu Tingbai clenched his fists, even thinking of rushing forward to give him a couple of punches.
"Xiaobai, sit down."
Ling Mo, unwilling to let Gu Tingbai repeatedly disrupt classroom discipline and risk his life for her sake, quickly pressed down on his shoulder and spoke softly:
"Just remember, I'm the one who won this voting game decisively. As for the other trivial matters, are they worth getting so worked up about?"
"That's true."
Gu Tingbai realized that his behavior was a bit extreme, scratched his head embarrassedly, and obediently sat back down next to Ling Mo.
However, after a moment, unable to suppress his curiosity, he tilted his head and asked in a low voice:
"Sister Mo, why did those people vote for Ling Tian? Shouldn't they be grateful to Ling Tian and Shi Yi?"
Never overestimate human nature.
Ling Mo's voice carried a hint of mockery. After taking a deep breath, he slowly spoke:
“Last night, I sent some private messages to some trainees, implying that if they voted for Ling Tian, they would have a chance to save their lives. These people may not believe this message, but they will still do it, simply because they don’t want to risk their own safety.”
"No wonder."
Gu Tingbai nodded as if he understood, then gave Ling Mo a thumbs up and murmured:
"Brilliant, that's a brilliant move."
"My cousin is amazing."
Upon hearing this, Shi Huan echoed his sentiment, feeling a surge of relief.
Fortunately, she had witnessed Ling Mo's outstanding personal abilities early on and did not blindly follow Shi Yi to side with Ling Tian.
Otherwise, her current situation would be hundreds or thousands of times more difficult than Shi Yi's.
Ling Tian clearly hadn't expected so many people to vote for her.
She stared blankly at the smart touchscreen whiteboard on the podium, her eyes filled with disbelief:
"How is this possible? Why do I have so many votes?"
Hearing her murmurs, the trainees around her who hadn't voted for her consciously took several steps back, afraid that she would grab them and interrogate them.
AK48 on the podium glanced at the names on the touchscreen whiteboard, quickly checked them, and found no problems. Not wanting to speak up for Ling Tian in front of so many people, he simply kept quiet and hurriedly left the multimedia classroom.
After AK48 left, Ling Tian seemed to be possessed. She suddenly turned around and stared blankly at Ling Mo, who was sitting in the last row, leisurely crossing his legs. She said coldly, "You secretly rigged the voting process, didn't you?"
Ling Mo glanced at the furious Ling Tian, then suddenly curled his lips into a smile and said calmly:
"If you're not satisfied with the result, you're free not to carry out the mission. Anyway, you won't be eliminated even if you don't, right?"
"What do you mean?" Ling Tian bit her lip and looked away guiltily.
"Don't you understand what I mean? Looking at the entire Super God Arena City, apart from the teachers' dormitory, where else can you get the Fire Seed? There must be some unknown inside story behind being able to obtain the Fire Seed so easily, right?"
"Ling Mo, don't you dare make false accusations!"
Ling Tian thought to herself that she shouldn't have any leverage over Ling Mo, took a deep breath, met her sharp gaze again, and said, word by word:
"So what if the fire was started in the faculty dormitory? Everything I did was for everyone, and I have a clear conscience."
"A clear conscience?"
Ling Mo chuckled, placed his hands on the table, suddenly stood up, and asked sharply:
"Let me ask you, how did you get into the faculty dormitory building? How did you overcome all the difficulties to find the tinder and fuel? Furthermore, after obtaining the tinder, why didn't you just lure the zombies to an open area and set them on fire? Why did you have to wait until more than 2,900 students were devoured by zombies before you hypocritically came forward to clean up the mess?"
Hearing Ling Mo say this, most of the students also became suspicious of Ling Tian and Shi Yi, and all turned their attention to them.
One of the girls, looking rather timid, suddenly pointed at Ling Tian and spoke up:
“Last night, I saw Ling Tian and Shi Yi swagger out of the faculty dormitory building. At that time, I suspected that they might be spies planted among us by the higher-ups. Two hours later, I saw them set fire to the zombies. Knowing that no one would believe what I said, I chose to remain silent.”
Upon hearing this, the students present became even more suspicious of Ling Tian and Shi Yi, and subconsciously took several steps back, as if they were some kind of monster.
Ling Tian was surprised to see another obstacle appear out of nowhere, and glared unhappily at the girl who had openly testified against her and Shi Yi.
However, despite her anger, Ling Tian had not yet lost her temper.
In just a moment, the fierceness in her eyes had vanished without a trace.
Raising her eyes, she already adopted a pitiful appearance, tearfully questioning everyone present:
"Shi Yi and I risked our lives to secure a chance for everyone's survival, and you actually blame us? More than 2,900 people died in the trial, and of course we are heartbroken. But what does this have to do with me? How can you blame Shi Yi and me?"
