"Why are you in such a hurry to close the door? Don't you want to talk to me?"
Seeing that the alluring woman in front of him intended to shut him out, Ouyang Bin quickly put his hand on the door and slipped into the inner room.
The woman raised an eyebrow, looking somewhat displeased, and said in a slightly cold tone:
"Mr. Ouyang, are you confused again? I am Xuanwei, not Shiying."
"Look at my memory. Ever since you had plastic surgery, I can't tell you apart from Ah Ying."
"Even if Mr. Ouyang doesn't say it, I know. You're suspicious of me, you suspect that my soul has been replaced, is that it?"
Ouyang Bin hesitated for two seconds, then a strange and unpredictable smile suddenly appeared on his face as he spoke slowly:
"Yes. To be honest, you've changed a lot. It's not just your appearance that's changed, but your aura and manner of speaking have also undergone a complete transformation."
"Shi Ying is long dead, that's common knowledge. Besides, you were with me the whole time when I had plastic surgery. I really don't know what I should do to make you believe that I am Xuan Wei."
“What you said makes some sense, but I still can’t understand why your attitude towards Ling Mo has changed so drastically?”
"I just don't want to fail. You know how much I hate Ling Mo. But in the current situation, I don't have the luxury of acting impulsively. Even if I want to settle old scores with her, I have to wait until the master's goal is achieved."
"When did you become so righteous?"
Ouyang Bin poured himself a cup of tea and sat down on the sandalwood chair in front of the coffee table.
Judging from his posture, it was clear that he wouldn't be leaving on his own anytime soon.
"I'm a petty person by nature. If it weren't for the need to survive in this world, I wouldn't bother with grand principles," the woman replied casually, her words exuding a sense of languid ease.
Ouyang Bin took a few more sips of tea, staring intently at the woman who always managed to capture his attention at just the right moment.
For some reason, he always felt that the woman in front of him had the upper hand in every conversation they had.
The so-called advantage is not limited to the dialogue, but also includes the aura of both parties.
In an attempt to regain his composure in front of her, or perhaps driven by lust, Ouyang Bin abandoned his usual ascetic demeanor and deliberately used his breathy voice, brimming with masculine hormones, to wildly seduce her:
“Xuanwei, you have suddenly become so charming that I am almost reluctant to send you to Zhan Hanjue’s side.”
"Mr. Ouyang, the overall situation should be taken into consideration."
“Actually, it’s okay to indulge a little once in a while.” As soon as Ouyang Bin finished speaking, he suddenly stood up and made a move to take her to the bed.
Hiding in the closet, Ling Mo saw Ouyang Bin's lustful expression, and her eyes grew colder and colder.
Realizing that the woman in front of her was most likely Shi Ying, she disregarded everything else, tore off the clothes covering her body, and was about to rush forward and shoot Ouyang Bin.
However, before she could even open the cabinet door, Ouyang Bin swayed slightly and then collapsed straight onto the bed.
Seeing this, Ling Mo immediately withdrew his hand from the cabinet door and silently shrank back from leaning forward.
Just as she was about to hide herself among the layers of clothes, the closet door was suddenly pulled open without warning.
Ling Mo squinted slightly, clearly not used to the warm yellow light in the bedroom after being in the dark for so long.
When I inadvertently caught sight of the woman's clean, clear eyes, my heart suddenly clenched painfully.
With just one glance, she was able to tell that the woman in front of her was definitely not Xuan Wei.
"You've got guts, daring to come to such a dangerous place."
The woman spoke gently, casually brushing away the two white downy hairs hanging from Ling Mo's head.
"Should I call you Shi Ying, Xuan Wei, or something else?" Ling Mo turned his head and stared at her warily, his left hand already in his handbag, pressing hard on the crescent-shaped dagger inside.
“Eighteen years ago, I wanted to escape Renhe Hospital with you. But I was too weak, and I actually fainted while pretending to be unconscious. I’m sorry, I couldn’t protect you. It’s my fault.” As she spoke, the woman’s delicate face was filled with remorse.
Upon hearing this, a crack suddenly appeared on Ling Mo's icy face, which had remained unmoved for a moment. He said with a mixture of joy and disbelief:
"So, you are..."
The woman lowered her eyes, her voice extremely soft:
"I am Shi Ying, a mother who failed so badly that she couldn't even protect her own child."
"..."
Ling Mo paused for a moment, clearly unwilling to see her looking so self-reproachful.
I wanted to give her a hug, but I was too embarrassed to do something so presumptuous.
After a long silence, he finally looked away and asked softly:
What are you doing here?
"Before I came here, I set a fire and burned Xuanwei to ashes. As for my purpose in coming here, I can only say that it is the same as yours: for faith and love."
"Did you write the words on the label at the bottom of the T-virus antidote bottle?"
"yes."
Shi Ying nodded and explained softly:
"I've been missing for eighteen years, and everyone thought I was dead. Now, the only thing that can prove my identity should be my handwriting."
“It’s not just the handwriting. In these eighteen years, Dad has never forgotten you. He must recognize you at a glance.” Ling Mo wasn’t usually good at comforting people, but he still tried to reassure her.
"Luo Lin... is he alright?"
Shi Ying's voice trembled slightly, and her eyes suddenly filled with tears.
Remembering how she had been forced to submit to Ling Yunlong, she suddenly felt afraid to hear anything about Luo Lin, as she felt she was no longer worthy of his deep affection.
