When Qin Beiming returned, he heard that Ling Mo had been executed. Overnight, his hair turned white and he went completely mad.
He first killed Lady Zhang in the courtyard, then beheaded the princess, raised an army to force the palace, and fought his way into the palace.
He spent a day and a night massacring the Empress Dowager.
When the various factions saw that the Emperor had been executed by Qin Beiming, they estimated that his actions had completely lost the support of the people. So they conspired to seize his military power and, in the name of justice, send troops to besiege him.
In fact, Qin Beiming also knew that this was not a good opportunity to assassinate the emperor and usurp the throne.
He did this simply because he had lost his beloved and didn't want to live alone.
After avenging the Zhan family, he drank poison and, along with Ling Mo, was sealed in a tomb...
"Oh dear, why are you crying?"
When the makeup artist saw Ling Mo, who was dozing with her eyes closed, suddenly burst into tears, she quickly pressed a powder puff under her eyelids.
Ling Mo slowly opened her eyes, looked at herself in the dressing mirror, and silently breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thank goodness it was just a dream."
She muttered to herself, her mind unsure whether what she had just experienced was her past life or a baseless dream.
"Auntie, don't cry, we'll give you all the candy."
The little girl sitting on the small chair next to Ling Mo tilted her head and handed all the candy in her pocket to Ling Mo.
"My aunt didn't cry."
Ling Mo regained his composure and held the baby girl in his arms.
"Duoduo, don't bother your aunt." Song Xingwan smiled and took Duoduo from Ling Mo's arms, then brought Duoduo to her twin brother Doudou. "Guoguo, take good care of your sister."
"Um."
Guoguo nodded sensibly like a little adult, and then took Duoduo out for a walk.
Outside the Zhan family's old residence, Qin Beiming suddenly had a memory of his "past life" appear in his mind, making him even more eager to see Ling Mo.
He paced anxiously back and forth outside the iron gate.
His groomsmen, on the other hand, watched with amusement as the usually composed Qin Beiming paced back and forth in front of them like a cat on a hot tin roof.
"Brother, don't be impatient, your sister-in-law won't get away," Qin Shaojing said softly with a smile on his lips.
Gu Tingbai nodded vigorously, echoing his agreement repeatedly:
"Brother Shaojing is right. With so many of us here, Third Sister-in-law is definitely not going to escape today."
"With a brother as outstanding as ours, how could our sister-in-law bear to leave?" Gu Nanfeng teased.
"that is."
Lu Jinjiu responded with a grin.
Seeing two little kids suddenly appear in the Zhan family's old house, he asked Qin Beiming, somewhat puzzled:
"Third brother, whose child is this? He's so cute."
Qin Beiming glanced at Guoguo, who looked almost exactly like Huo Yunting when he was a child, and was about to say something to remind Huo Yunting when Li Wanwan rushed out anxiously and hugged Duoduo and Guoguo in her arms.
"Wanwan, wow! It's only been half a year, where did you get two kids from?"
Gu Tingbai blinked, looking at the two babies in Li Wanwan's arms with a face full of curiosity.
"Your imagination is too vivid! I'm still single, where would I get kids? These two darlings are Song..." Li Wanwan realized she had said the wrong thing, stuck out her tongue, and immediately fell silent.
Seeing that Huo Yunting was still leaning against the car door, completely absorbed in his own world, Qin Beiming had no choice but to speak frankly:
"Ah Ting, take a closer look, who do these two kids look like?"
"What?"
Huo Yunting snapped out of his daze and looked in the direction Qin Beiming was pointing at the two little ones in Li Wanwan's arms.
He stared blankly at Guoguo, who looked very much like him, and then looked at Duoduo, who resembled Song Xingwan. The string in his heart snapped completely.
"you..."
Huo Yunting couldn't help but lean forward, gently patting the two little ones' heads, and asked softly:
"Is your mother's name Song Xingwan?"
Guoguo stared intently at Huo Yunting, who looked almost exactly like her, and then realized that Huo Yunting was very likely her and Duoduo's father.
He pouted slightly, feeling a little aggrieved, then broke free from Li Wanwan's embrace, took Duoduo's hand, and pulled her into the house.
“Brother, this uncle looks like you. Do you think he might be Dad? I remember Auntie saying that you and Dad look a lot alike.” Duoduo whispered to Guoguo while turning to look at Huo Yunting.
"We don't need a father."
Guoguo pursed her lips, led Duoduo into the Zhan family hall, and then silently hid in the bathroom.
Huo Yunting glanced at Guoguo's small figure and was about to open the bathroom door to find out what was going on when he saw Duoduo dragging Song Xingwan and running over in a hurry.
"Mom, my brother is hiding and crying again."
Duoduo pointed to the bathroom door and spoke to Song Xingwan in a soft, sweet voice.
Seeing this, Song Xingwan quickly opened the bathroom door and anxiously asked the little crybaby hiding behind it, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
"I...I saw my dad."
Guoguo wiped her tears haphazardly, trying to stop crying, but felt even more aggrieved.
Song Xingwan originally thought that she could take good care of the child on her own.
But the two children kept bothering her, asking about their father.
Thinking this through, she felt even more guilty and whispered an explanation to Guoguo:
"Honey, you must have mistaken him for someone else. Daddy works for the secret service and is very busy. I'll take you to see him when you're a little older, okay?"
"You're lying."
Guoguo lowered her head and asked cautiously:
