"Don't you dislike him?"
"But he did make you look good at our wedding, didn't he? I should at least repay that favor to him."
Fang Qing frowned in displeasure.
"What favor? That's not a favor at all. How can you not see that? Brother Fangzhu treats me like a younger sister. Otherwise, do you think he would have sent me off to my wedding?"
"Alright, it's not a favor, but since he's your brother from your mother's side, that's also my brother, so it's not unreasonable for me to invite him for a drink."
"But he's setting off back to the Northwest tomorrow."
Then let's invite him next time he returns to the capital.
Zhao Shi'an gently rubbed Fang Qing's flushed cheeks.
"Go to sleep if you're tired."
"Lie down here too, how can I sleep without you?"
Zhao Shi'an was secretly delighted.
So Fang Qing is this dependent on people when she's drunk.
Fang Zhu left early in the morning, but Fang Qing still got up to see him off.
"Brother, have a safe journey."
Fang Qing glanced at Zhao Shi'an, who was standing beside her with an expression that betrayed no emotion, gave a soft snort, and raised her hand to rub Fang Qing's head.
"I'm leaving now. Take care. Write to me if you need anything."
"good."
Fang Zhu turned and left, and only then did Zhao Shi'an relax his expression.
He placed his hand over the spot where Fang Zhu had just touched Fang Qing's head and stroked it.
"Let's go home."
Fang Qing was pulled into the carriage by Zhao Shi'an.
Zhao Shi'an was busy with official duties, and Fang Qing was also busy going to the Ministry of Revenue and the royal farm outside the city, so the two of them spent less and less time at home.
With corn and wheat cultivation going quite well, the farm workers turned their attention to other crops.
At Fang Qing's suggestion, they established a crop research group.
Moreover, these groups are not limited to the capital. The imperial court has called on people from all regions to send people to the capital to learn, so that they can cultivate new grain varieties for their local areas based on the local crop conditions after returning home.
During this period, many people from all over the country came to the farm. Fang Qing had Xiao Dou organize the knowledge about the cultivation of various crops, and then copied it down and compiled it into a booklet.
These booklets were initially circulated among the students on the farm, but later someone copied them, printed them, and sold them in bookstores.
Fang Qing was unaware of this at first, but later the Minister of Revenue found her and asked her how to handle the matter.
Fang Qing browsed through the book that was currently being sold in the bookstore.
It's quite thick, but the content seems to be pieced together from various sources and is incomplete.
"I heard that the sales in the bookstore are quite good. I came to the county magistrate to ask if, if you want to hold the bookstore accountable, our Ministry of Revenue can step in and may be able to seek compensation for you."
Fang Qing shook her head.
"It would be better if more people could access and enjoy these things. However, I think we should wait until we have completed our research before hiring someone to do the typesetting, printing, and distribution. The content in this book is not good; there are a few errors."
"Then shall we send someone to retrieve these items?"
Fang Qing nodded, "Our main grains in Dali are wheat and corn, and we have also seen relatively mature research on these two crops. The results can be compiled into a book and distributed to more places so that people can understand the planting methods."
Fang Qing stopped caring about the books.
Fang Qing has been busy until late afternoon these past few days, and this day was no exception.
Upon arriving at the mansion gate, Fang Qing alighted from the carriage and saw Gao Ren walking out of the mansion.
"Master Gao."
Fang Qing greeted him.
Gao Ren paused for a moment, then walked towards her with his hands behind his back.
His face still held that nonchalant smile.
"Who is it? With such an air of grandeur, I thought it was someone from my dream come true. It turns out to be the Princess of the Ministry of Agriculture."
He always speaks in a high-pitched tone, which always makes him sound frivolous.
"It seems Lord Gao has been doing well in the capital lately, still in the mood for jokes."
Gao Ren and the Eighth Prince were both in the southwest, and they returned to the capital this time to attend her wedding with Zhao Shi'an.
However, the Eighth Prince had already returned to the southwest, while Gao Ren was still in the capital.
Those unaware of the situation might assume that Gao Ren would remain in the capital and be reinstated to his original position.
Fang Qing knew that it was just the Emperor and Zhao Shi'an trying to stall Gao Ren in order to find Gao Wancheng's whereabouts.
Fang Qing's words indeed caused Gao Ren's expression to change slightly.
He stared at Fang Qing for a moment.
"I must have done something terrible in my past life to have met you two."
Gao Ren said this almost through gritted teeth.
Fang Qing responded with a smile.
"Lord Gao, please don't be angry. You and my husband are related by blood. According to seniority, I should call you cousin. We are family. Lord Gao is wise. You know which path is better without needing anyone to remind you."
Gao Ren scoffed.
"I never imagined that I would have a day when you would lecture me."
"I dare not preach, but I don't want to see Master Gao go down a path of no return."
Gao Ren still looked at Fang Qing with that frivolous gaze.
"I dislike being advised the most, but if it were you, I'd be happy to listen, since you're me..."
"Gao Ren, watch your words. This is the entrance to the Zhao residence."
"So you mean we can say these things anywhere else? There's a teahouse up ahead, come with me, and I can even treat you to a meal while we're at it, right?"
Fang Qing is too lazy to pay attention to him now.
"Take care, and don't bother seeing me off."
As she spoke, Fang Qing walked past him into the mansion.
As she passed by him, Gao Ren grabbed her arm.
