Chapter 51 The Cow is Lost

Fang Qing was stunned for a moment, then heard Da Shan say, "Isn't this the big wild boar we encountered on the mountain?"

"What?"

As they were talking, Zhao Shi and Zhao Shi'an also came out and exclaimed in amazement when they saw the wild boar weighing more than 200 jin.

"Why did you bring the prey home?"

They usually keep the game they hunt with their master, and then go to the county town to sell it. Only occasionally can they bring home the game that they can't sell.

"We didn't kill it. I picked it up on my way down the mountain. I saw it was unconscious, so I killed it and brought it back. Luckily it was unconscious, otherwise I don't know if I could have made it down the mountain safely."

Fang Dashan chuckled, but Fang Qing felt a wave of fear wash over her.

In a daze, she felt as if she had saved her own father's life.

Hunting deep in the mountains is not a safe activity; she should try to persuade Fang Daniu not to go into the mountains later.

"No sooner had Bean Sprouts brought back a baby wild boar than you brought back a big one."

"What little wild boar?"

Upon learning from Zhao about the expedition into the deep mountains, Fang Daniu's previously joyful expression turned dark.

"They're utterly arrogant! Go stand in the corner, all of you!"

Fang Qing and the other two had no choice but to obediently stand as punishment.

Fang Daniu gave a lecture, then went to deal with the two wild boars.

He invited Fang Sanhua and Da Shan's father, and they lit a hot pot in the bamboo grove behind their house and began slaughtering the pig.

Fang Qing and the other two didn't stand there for long. Da Shan went to watch the pig slaughter, while Fang Qing washed two persimmons and went to find Zhao Shi'an.

The door to Zhao Shi'an's room wasn't closed properly, so Fang Qing pushed it open and went in. She then saw Zhao Shi'an shirtless, rubbing himself with medicinal wine.

"Brother... are you hurt?"

Fang Qing quickly put down the persimmons and went to check on them.

It must have been gored while fighting with the wild boar; there are two bruises on its stomach and chest.

Zhao Shi'an pushed her hand away.

"It's not serious, I've already applied the medicine."

Fang Qing was still worried, so she went out and redeemed a bottle of liniment from the system and brought it back.

“I took this from Dad’s room. It’s very effective. Let me apply the medicine for you.”

Zhao Shi'an awkwardly dodged.

"Myself..."

"Don't move, it'll be ready soon."

Seeing her distressed expression, Zhao Shi'an gradually relaxed.

The events that happened on the mountain flashed through my mind again and again.

He thought he really considered the bean sprouts as family.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have risked his life to save her.

family.

That sounds so damn pretentious.

But he didn't realize that the corners of his mouth were curving upwards.

[Oh ho, the villain's villain value has been reduced by 1, now it's 85. You will receive ten days of lifespan and an extra 400 points.]

[...Reduce villain value by 1, current villain value is 84...]

[...reduce villain value by 1...]

...

[...The villain's current rating is 77...]

Fang Qing was quite surprised to see her points and lifespan increase so dramatically.

True friendship is revealed after going through thick and thin together.

She couldn't help but open her bright eyes wide and look at Zhao Shi'an.

"What's wrong?" Zhao Shi'an asked.

Fang Qing smiled at her.

"I think my brother was really brave today. Brother, you'll always be this good to me, right?"

Looking at those expectant eyes, how could Zhao Shi'an possibly say a word of denial?

"Yes, I will always be good to you."

Fang Qing's smile widened.

"I will always be good to my brother."

Zhao Shi'an had never experienced such warmth in his past and present lives. Looking at the admiration in Fang Qing's eyes, he couldn't help but reach out and rub Fang Qing's head.

Who wouldn't love a younger sister like that?

Fang Qing applied medicine to Zhao Shi'an and then processed chestnuts in the living room.

The storage room led to the bamboo grove behind, so she heard the noises coming from outside.

He put down what he was holding and went outside, where he saw Zhang's figure.

"You've almost killed my grandson, what's wrong with me coming here to ask for some meat?"

Zhang stood with her hands behind her back, looking at Yingzi who was chopping meat with an air of self-righteousness.

"Give me this pig's leg and this piece of meat from its back."

Yingzi didn't even look at her.

“I’m talking to you. My grandson brought back a pig, so I should get a share.”

Dashan was putting firewood under the hot pot when he heard this and looked at her.

"Grandma, how can you be so shameless? We've already separated, why are you still asking me for something?"

Upon hearing this, Zhang was displeased.

"How can you talk like that, child? Even if we've separated our families, I'm still your grandmother. What's wrong with me eating a little bit of your food?"

“There’s nothing of my own here. If it weren’t for Bean Sprout’s help, I would be dead. These two pigs belong to Bean Sprout’s family.”

Zhang glared at him.

"You idiot who's siding with outsiders! I'm just trying to get some meat for my family, otherwise we won't get any of it."

"We've all separated, so what's this 'our family' thing anymore?"

Zhang was so angry that she wanted to hit him, but Dashan quickly ran away.

Zhang looked around and soon turned into the backyard, where he was staring at the cowshed.

Just as she was about to enter the cowshed, Fang Qing came out.

"What is Second Grandma looking at?"

Zhang was startled, and her expression became somewhat unnatural.

"Nothing much, just looking around."

As she spoke, she walked out. Everyone was busy with their own things. She looked around, and after a short while, Yingzi exclaimed in surprise.

"Hey? One pig leg is missing."

She had prepared the wild boar meat and placed it on the table next to her. In the short time she turned around, she noticed that something was missing.

Fang Qing glanced around and found that Zhang Shi was indeed nowhere to be seen.

“It must have been my grandma who took it. I’m going to get it back.”
