The old woman gasped.
"You, I..."
The old woman was speaking incoherently and appeared very flustered.
“This is easy to handle. As long as you bring the cow out of the house, I will have a way to prove whether it is my cow.”
The old woman panicked.
"Why should I listen to you? I'm not opening it. My cow is afraid of people and doesn't want to come out."
As soon as she finished speaking, there was a sound of something hitting the door from inside the house.
The people in the courtyard were startled.
The old woman panicked even more.
"I always said my cow is afraid of people..."
Before she could finish speaking, there was another violent impact.
The door shook, throwing out a lot of dirt.
They even suspected that if they kept banging on it, the house might collapse.
The old woman didn't know what to do and looked to Fang Guangzong for help.
But Fang Guangzong was also afraid, so he closed his eyes and thought of a way to escape.
The village chief took a step back in fear.
"Wang Cuihua, open the door!"
"I……"
Clang.
As the two wooden doors slammed shut, a yellow ox burst out of the house and charged straight at the old woman.
"rhubarb!"
Fang Qing's shout made Da Huang restrain its strength, but the old woman was still pushed away and sat down on the ground with a thud.
"Oh no, help! Murder!"
The old woman kept shouting as she rolled to a safe place, looking quite disheveled.
"rhubarb."
The ox walked up to Fang Qing and nudged her hand with its head. Fang Qing quickly rubbed its head.
“Village chief, this doesn’t need proof, does it? This is my cow.”
The arrival of Dahuang startled everyone in the yard, and now, watching Fang Qing interact with Dahuang, they could only say that this cow was truly intelligent.
"Fang Guangzong, Wang Cuihua, what else do you have to say?"
"Don't tell us you bought this cow. Do you think we're stupid enough to be fooled?"
The village chief was furious. Seeing Fang Guangzong pretending to be dead on the ground, he went up and kicked him.
"Stop pretending, get up."
The village chief's kick was quite forceful, and Fang Guangzong sat up with a groan.
“Oh, village chief, this has nothing to do with me. I didn’t steal the cow. Wang Cuihua did tell me that she bought a cow.”
"You're still trying to deny it! We've caught you red-handed!"
“I didn’t steal it. The cow is here, not on my property. How did it become that I stole it? It wasn’t me.”
He stubbornly refused to admit it, and the village chief, angered, kicked him twice more.
"Are you saying that my milkman stole the cow and it has nothing to do with you?"
Fang Guangzong rolled his eyes, and upon hearing Fang Qing's words, he quickly agreed.
But the old woman wouldn't agree.
"You heartless bastard, it was clearly your idea and that woman Zhang Zhaodi's idea, but now you're blaming it all on me."
The old woman hit Fang Guangzong several times, then sat down on the ground and started crying.
"Oh dear, why is my life so miserable? I must have been cursed for eight lifetimes to have to deal with all of you."
"God, please open your eyes! Otherwise, how am I supposed to live like this?!"
The old woman's sobs annoyed everyone in the courtyard.
"Alright, stop complaining about your bad luck all the time. I think you're just taking your good fortune for granted and bringing this on yourself."
The village chief interrupted her.
“Da Niu and his wife are so capable, and Dou Ya is so sensible. You had to stir things up and cause a family to split up. If you want to split up, then split up and live your lives peacefully. But you had to cause trouble again.”
"Da Niu is also your son, don't you think about him properly?"
The village chief's words brought tears to Fang Daniu's eyes.
“How am I causing trouble? What does this have to do with me? The idea of stealing the cow was Fang Guangzong and that woman Zhang Zhaodi. Fang Guangzong stole the cow, but he insisted on putting it in my hands.”
"I thought this was a cow he gave me. I just found out it belongs to Da Niu's family. What can I do? I can only help this bastard keep it a secret."
The old woman wiped away her tears as she spoke.
Fang Guangzong grumbled and cursed.
"I didn't steal it, this slut stole it herself..."
The old woman slapped him several times in a row.
"You bastard, you not only took advantage of me, but you also framed me for this! I'll beat you to death!"
The old woman straddled Fang Guangzong and attacked him, but he was tied up and unable to fight back.
"Oh, village chief, please save me! I should call you uncle, shouldn't I?"
The village chief had his men pull the two of them apart.
"Do you admit to stealing the cow?"
The old woman was strong, and Fang Guangzong was beaten so badly that he couldn't even speak clearly.
"I... I don't believe it, it wasn't me."
He's still stubbornly refusing to admit it.
Fang Qing loosened the rope around Da Huang's neck.
"Big Yellow, who led you away last night? See if it was this person?"
Her childish voice made everyone pause for a moment when she said those words.
Even if a cow is incredibly intelligent, it's impossible for it to recognize a cow thief.
But the next moment they saw the previously quiet Big Yellow snort and was about to step on Fang Guangzong.
"Ah, help! It was me! It was me and Zhang Zhaodi's idea! Quickly, stop this cow!"
If you got stepped on by this cow, your intestines would probably come out.
Fang Daniu quickly grabbed Dahuang.
"See if you can still talk back, clan leader. Tell me how to handle this now."
The village chief delegated the decision-making power to the clan chief.
The clan chief, who had been keeping his eyes downcast and not speaking, turned his gaze to Fang Guangzong upon hearing this.
“According to the rules of our village, naturally his hands should be cut off and he should be driven out of Fangjia Village, but Sanduo only has this one son.”
