Inside, Xie Qianzhong waved his hand slightly, and his subordinates bowed and left.
Xie Qianzhong then relaxed, staring unabashedly at the small white flowers blooming in the corner through the bloodstains on the ground.
Although the little white flower is fragile, seeing those who bullied her die is quite gratifying.
Reluctant to let the white flower be stained with filth, Xie Qianzhong stepped over the bloodstains on the ground and stood in front of Song Tangxue.
The two exchanged a silent glance, and Xie Qianzhong forced a smile: "You've suffered, you've lost some weight."
His fingers, carrying the warmth that Song Tangxue cherished, gently caressed her cheek. Song Tangxue neither flinched nor avoided him, and even rubbed against him slightly: "I'm fine."
Before these people could do anything to her, Xie Qianzhong arrived. As for the verbal insults, Song Tangxue had heard far more disgusting things in her previous life.
Saying things won't cost me anything.
“You just love to show off. I’ve heard about what happened to you in prison.” Xie Qianzhong slid his hand down and pulled the person into his arms, sighing.
The intense heat made Song Tangxue's body feel hot as well.
“None of that matters. I’ve been able to endure hardship since I was a child, but Lord Xie is different.” Song Tangxue took a step back from his embrace.
She tilted her head slightly, her bright, deer-like eyes fixed on Xie Qianzhong: "You hold a high position and wield great power, which makes people wary of you. Will this implicate you?"
Song Tangxue knew when to show weakness, as this was the best time to evoke a man's pity and make Xie Qianzhong feel guilty towards her.
Xie Qianzhong, with his abilities, couldn't possibly be unaware that he was implicated because of him. However, he was kind and gentle, not only not blaming him, but also worried about him.
What man could resist a virtuous wife who is completely devoted to him?
She guessed that Xie Qianzhong couldn't refuse.
Xie Qianzhong stared at her silently for a long time, his gaze intense. Song Tangxue felt a little uneasy: "If it's really difficult, then please don't interfere, sir. Tangxue can handle it herself."
Xie Qianzhong shook his head, surprised that Tang Xue was so considerate of him.
Based on my previous understanding of Song Tangxue, I thought she was eccentric and no one could easily get into her heart. I never knew that she had quietly fallen for me.
A surge of warmth flowed through Xie Qianzhong's heart, bringing comfort to his entire body.
Undeniably, this feeling is captivating.
"Tang Xue, don't worry, I will definitely pick you up." Xie Qianzhong pulled her into his arms again, gently rubbing his chin against the hair on Shen Zhaozhao's head, tenderly entwining them.
"Should we thank Master Xie again?" Song Tangxue leaned against him and chuckled. Suddenly, she looked up, her eyes, full of laughter, seemed to speak volumes as she gazed at Xie Qianzhong.
The kiss landed unexpectedly, silencing Song Tangxue's words.
Their breaths and heartbeats overlapped as Xie Qianzhong reached out and gently pinched Song Tangxue's reddened earlobe, causing Song Tangxue to open her mouth.
His tongue, unfamiliar yet skillful, hooked around hers, gently entwining with hers.
When the long kiss ended, Song Tangxue's face, neck, and ear tips were all red, and her little white flower was tinged with blush.
Xie Qianzhong had personally applied the dye, and the frustration and tension of the past few days had dissipated somewhat. He reached out and gently pinched Song Tangxue's rosy lips: "Wait for me."
After uttering those two words, Xie Qianzhong strode out. Song Tangxue smiled faintly, touching the lingering warmth on her lips.
Song Tangxue was sent to a better cell. At least the blankets in the cell were no longer damp and were clean and fresh. The prison guards deliberately avoided her gaze and kept their heads down the whole time, not daring to meet her eyes.
The news of the death that afternoon had spread like wildfire, and the prison guards, unaware of the situation, dared not offend Song Tangxue.
In the evening, an unexpected person arrived. Song Tangxue saw her mother carrying a lunchbox as she entered, and the jailer guarding Song Tangxue straightened up.
This person was left behind by Xie Qianzhong. Song's mother handed over a silver ingot with a smile: "I came to bring some food for my daughter. Please go over there and have some tea with this money."
The jailer didn't care about any of that, but Song Tangxue gave him a wink before he finally gave in and accepted the money.
He opened the door and instructed, "You have fifteen minutes."
Mother Song lowered her head and agreed. The black cloak covered her completely from head to toe. The jailer left the room, leaving some space behind.
Madam Song turned to look at Song Tangxue lying on the bed, her anger blazing. She slammed the food box onto the table: "Look what you've done! You've completely disgraced the Song family!"
Song's mother spoke each word with anger: "If I had known you were like this, I should have strangled you when you were born."
The expression on her face was one of undisguised disgust, and Song Tangxue knew she was serious.
“I’ve already said, I didn’t do this. Wasn’t it because my parents kept pressing me that things ended up like this?” Song Tangxue found it amusing. If they had taken a step back back then, it would have been very easy to find out the truth.
Even finding someone to take the blame would have been easy, but instead they tried to manipulate things. The Song family was as foolish as ever, causing even bigger trouble for a little bit of profit.
"How dare you say that? Do you know what's going on outside? Everyone's saying that a vicious criminal has emerged from my Song family!" Mother Song sat down, panting, and slapped the wooden table again and again as if she felt no pain.
"Do you know that your father was impeached because of you and was almost confined by the Emperor? Now the Song family is looked down upon when they go out!" Song's mother has been living a life worse than death these past two days.
Once she steps outside, the eyes of passersby on the street seem to be piercing straight down her spine.
“Mother, there’s something I’ve always been curious about.” Song Tangxue observed her mother’s expression, her eyes showing not a trace of consideration for the suffering her own daughter had endured in prison.
“No mother in the world would hurt her own daughter. I am clearly your biological child, but you bully me like this, wishing I would disappear from your sight.” Song Tangxue got out of bed and lit the oil lamp on the table.
The warm, bright yellow light fell on her face, highlighting her resemblance to Song's mother.
"Why do you think this is? Why do you hate seeing your own daughter?" Song Tangxue bent down to light the lamp and looked at her mother, who was sitting at eye level.
A fleeting look of panic crossed Song's mother's face, her well-maintained, slender white fingertips curling up and hiding in her sleeves: "Me targeting you? Isn't it because your own behavior and character are truly unlikable?"
Song Tangxue straightened up: "The most important thing is to keep me from appearing in front of my father, because I'm afraid he'll find that my face doesn't resemble his at all."
Song's mother's face changed drastically. She stood up abruptly, knocked over the oil lamp on the table, and the lamp rolled on the ground with a gurgling sound. The wick was extinguished by Song's mother, and wisps of blue smoke rose from it.
