Chapter 48 The Long Night

"What's wrong with Xue?"

The layered mist was parted, and the spot where the scalding palm touched gradually became hot. Xie Qianzhong was revealed through the mist.

She recognized the voice; it was Xie Qianzhong's voice. The person holding her now was Xie Qianzhong. This realization made Song Tangxue struggle a little less.

For some reason, hearing his voice gradually calmed Song Tangxue down. Xie Qianzhong's hand gently landed on her waist, and he relaxed when he saw that she no longer struggled.

A tingling, numb sensation spread from where the two touched, and Song Tangxue's body went limp, melting into Xie Qianzhong's arms like a puddle of water.

Xie Qianzhong's breathing was heavy, sweeping across her brow and causing ripples in her eyes, like a pool of spring water spreading out.

Darkness enveloped her eyes. When she opened them again, the red veil covering her eyebrows and eyes had been torn off, and her eyelashes trembled as she looked at the person.

Xie Qianzhong suddenly lowered his head, his hot breath landing on her lips.

He reached out and pinched Song Tangxue's chin, his fingers tracing her lips and gently caressing them.

The moment I withdrew my hand, cool lips pressed against mine, soft and tightly pressed together, our breaths mingling.

Song Tangxue felt a wave of dizziness as her waist was tightly embraced, and the man's body heat and softness covered her lips.

Carrying Xie Qianzhong's unique fragrance, like snowmelt from the mountains, mixed with warmth, this kiss was long and lingering, demonstrating ample patience and a desire for control.

"Hmm..."

As the tongue slowly probed in, Song Tangxue's fingers curled up, her tongue being skillfully yet strangely connected. In her blank mind, she could only hear the sticky sound of lips and teeth mingling together. Only then did Song Tangxue realize that she and Xie Qianzhong were kissing.

She loosened her grip on Xie Qianzhong's sleeve, and as she leaned closer, she took a deep breath, inhaling that familiar, comforting scent.

Then, remembering something, her chaotic mind cleared for a moment. Song Tangxue reached out and pushed Xie Qianzhong, but her soft hand was grasped in another warm place and pressed down, unable to move.

"Ah Xue, I've been poisoned. Can you help me with the antidote?"

A muffled sound came from where their lips met, sticky and indistinct, and it took Song Tangxue a while to process what Xie Qianzhong was saying.

"Is it good or not?" The voice persisted, not getting an answer.

The breath on her lips was long and hot. Song Tangxue gently closed her eyes. This acquiescence was a pleasant attitude. The carriage drove into the mansion and headed straight for the bedroom.

Xie Qianzhong got off the carriage and held Song Tangxue tightly in his arms.

When placed on the bed, Song Tangxue was like a stranded fish, struggling for a moment before breathing with her mouth slightly open.

Along the way, Xie Qianzhong kept kissing her, giving her so much that it felt like he was drowning her.

Her lips pressed against his again, that suffocating feeling of lack of oxygen clinging to them. A glistening tear rolled down Song Tangxue's cheek as she murmured, "No more..."

But someone seized the opportunity, capturing her lips and tongue. The girl beneath him had round, deer-like eyes, stirring up all the romantic thoughts in his heart. Xie Qianzhong's kiss was heavy and wet.

Song Tangxue tried to struggle, but Xie Qianzhong, who appeared aloof and cold on the surface, seemed to trap her like a thick fog in bed.

Her clothes were unbuttoned, revealing her flushed shoulders. Song Tangxue's hands, which were gently gripping the sheets, trembled as she looked at Xie Qianzhong: "Lord Xie... Qianzhong..."

The sounds emanating from his mouth were broken and trembling.

Xie Qianzhong removed his clothes, and his hand, adorned with a thumb ring, touched Song Tangxue's earlobe, which was a striking red. The cool touch of the thumb ring brought a comforting coolness.

As the hand left, Song Tangxue chased after it for a fleeting moment, almost with longing.

Seeing the burning desire in his eyes, Song Tangxue subconsciously stepped back, but there was nowhere to retreat. Song Tangxue was somewhat frightened by this change.

Those seemingly slender and scholarly hands, yet possessing immense control, found Song Tangxue's body and carried her through the turbulent waves.

The night suddenly felt very long.

As dawn broke, looking through the screen, it appeared that two figures were intertwined on the bed.

Song Tangxue opened her heavy eyelids; the bedchamber was bathed in light.

The light shone on her face, which was almost transparently pale.

A pool of hot water pressed tightly against her. Song Tangxue stirred, and the arm around her suddenly tightened: "Awake?"

A hoarse, languid voice sounded from behind.

Song Tangxue's eyes widened in shock. It turned out that everything last night was not a dream. Song Tangxue was at a loss, whether facing the man in the bed or what had happened last night.

"Are you shy?" Xie Qianzhong's chest rose and fell slightly as he sat up to look at her, a rare smile on his lips, and gently stroked her cheek with his hand.

"Thank you, Xue, for last night."

Song Tangxue propped herself up and sat up. The maids who were serving outside heard the noise and came in to help her get dressed and wash up.

Xie Qianzhong finished tidying up and stood to the side, looking down intently at her.

His eyes were as cool as ever, with shards of light reflecting off his dark pupils.

Song Tangxue looked away, but the man's hand relentlessly gripped her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze again.

Xie Qianzhong seemed to come alive in an instant. His expression was languid, his dark pupils were fixed on her, and his hair was tangled, showing a kind of moistness after being nourished by rain, making him even more dazzling than usual, and his handsome appearance was beyond compare.

"Is Ah Xue leaving?"

Song Tangxue gently pulled his hand away from hers, lowered her eyes, and explained quickly, "I have some things to take care of today, so I can't stay long."

After saying that, he seemed to flee in panic, leaving the mansion without pausing for a moment.

Feeling uneasy and uncertain, I realized that everything that happened last night had happened too fast, like a dream.

The lingering soreness deep within her body reminded Song Tangxue that it was all real, and conflicting feelings washed over her.

She really didn't know how to face Xie Qianzhong, so she could only try to escape as soon as possible. Even now, she didn't know what to do. Her steps were unsteady, and her mind kept going blank.

The events of last night kept flashing through her mind, and Song Tangxue shook her head as the images became clearer.

Xie Qianzhong stood in the room without Song Tangxue, and for a moment he felt a sense of emptiness. The maids hung their heads and dared not speak.

The bedding between the beds was in disarray, covered in wrinkles, a testament to the intensity of the previous night; everything else seemed to have vanished without a trace.

Xie Qianzhong walked to the bedside as if possessed. The servants had not yet tidied up, and he reached out to shake the bedding.

A bright red mark landed in the center of the bed, piercing his eyes.

This was actually Song Tangxue's first time.

The darkness in Xie Qianzhong's eyes seemed to intensify. The blankets fell, covering the bright red stain, but it lingered in his mind no matter what.
