Chapter 55 Lee So-hyeon's Warning

After entering through the tall red wooden gate, Li Zhaoxian shook off Song Tangxue's hand and stared at her coldly.

Song Tangxue rubbed her wrist, her face also looking unwell. Li Zhaoxian's grip was too strong; her fair wrist was now red, like red plum blossoms blooming in the snow.

It was a grand spectacle, yet also a cause for pity.

Li Zhaoxian tossed the person against the wall, his face grim as he took a few steps closer. Song Tangxue watched him retreat as if he were a madman, leaning against the wall.

Beside him, Haitang, still catching her breath, stared warily at Li Zhaoxian, looking ready to fight him at the slightest provocation.

"You are my Crown Princess, you should have less contact with Lord Xie!" Li Zhaoxian ground her teeth, thinking of Xie Qianzhong's immense and enviable power: "He is no good person!"

"Keep your thoughts to yourself and obediently marry me as the Crown Princess of the Eastern Palace." Li Zhaoxian's eyes were sharp as he stared at the girl in his arms.

Her radiant beauty was like the blazing sun hanging in the sky, but the anger in her eyes was like two clusters of flames, burning Li Zhaoxian's heart.

Such a beautiful person deserves to have her spine broken so she can't stand up straight.

"Didn't you say you wouldn't marry anyone but Song Tangli? Why aren't you showing your loyalty now?" Song Tangxue straightened up, gently pushed away Li Zhaoxian's restraints, and raised her eyebrows slightly, her expression full of sarcasm.

"So His Highness the Crown Prince is also a fickle person. He usually pretends to be a righteous and virtuous man, a hypocrite. Now that I think about it, it's truly disgusting." Song Tangxue mercilessly exposed the Crown Prince's hypocrisy.

He glanced away, as if looking at it for even a second would be an eyesore.

Li Zhaoxian's expression was clearly not good either, and the veins on his hands were bulging. He had no choice but to put them down: "In short, you'll be mine for life, even in death. You'd better give up those thoughts you shouldn't have, or I'll make you wish you were dead!"

The last few words were like a venomous snake spitting its tongue, and Li Zhaoxian's eyes narrowed slightly.

Song Tangxue snorted coldly. In her previous life, she obediently became the Crown Princess, but didn't she end up with a fate worse than death, almost disappearing without a trace?

Song Tangxue: "Your Highness, instead of wasting your time on this, you should pay more attention to Song Tangli. Don't try to get attention from me."

After saying that, Song Tangxue pushed the person in front of her away and strode away. Haitang followed closely behind, glaring fiercely at the Crown Prince's back.

Pah, what is that?

They dare to lay a finger on my master.

After exiting the archway, Song Tangxue looked around for a while but did not see the figure in black. Following the sound of flowing water, she found the person standing in the pavilion of the long corridor.

Standing with his hands behind his back, he seemed to be overwhelmed by boundless loneliness, with no one beside him.

Song Tangxue gestured for Haitang to stay and guard the gate, while she walked through the corridor and stepped into that desolate place.

Xie Qianzhong turned around, as if he had known it was her all along, showing no surprise, his dark pupils silently watching her.

Song Tangxue smiled sweetly, her fingers deftly hooking around Xie Qianzhong's sleeve and gently tugging at it: "I must thank you for helping me out of that situation just now, sir."

Xie Qianzhong lowered his eyes, looking at the patch of white amidst the black and white, and the bright red between them was particularly glaring.

A warm hand grasped his wrist, Xie Qianzhong looked at the other red petal, lowered his head and leaned down, kissing it heavily.

The more composed he appeared, the more urgent his kiss became, as if carrying all the unspeakable emotions that had accumulated in recent days, surging forward in this kiss.

Like a giant ocean wave, it locked Song Tangxue firmly in place, surrounded by raging waves, making escape impossible.

The blinding light made Song Tangxue push Xie Qianzhong away. Xie Qianzhong clicked his tongue lightly, seemingly unsatisfied. Song Tangxue stuck out her tongue and unconsciously swept it across her slightly numb lips: "In broad daylight, what if someone walks by?"

Xie Qianzhong's eyes grew even deeper, and he let out a heavy sigh: "The Empress Dowager is about to go up the mountain, so you must be careful with your words and actions."

"The Empress Dowager has spent her whole life fighting in the harem, and now what she hates most is the affectation and indirectness of the concubines in the palace."

"Moreover, the Empress Dowager dislikes poetry and songs, so never show off your knowledge in front of her. When the late Emperor was alive, a favored concubine used this to embarrass the Empress Dowager, so you must never mention it now."

"Moreover, in her old age, the Empress Dowager often kept the ancient Buddha and the lamp as her companions, and developed a bodhisattva heart. She loved small animals, and now the Cining Palace still keeps several rescued stray cats."

"Empress Dowager is also displeased..."

Xie Qianzhong's voice was like a gentle spring breeze, carrying a caress that nourishes all things. Song Tangxue listened carefully and made sure to remember it.

Finally, Xie Qianzhong smiled faintly: "Why aren't you saying anything? Do you find my words too complicated?"

Song Tangxue shook her head, feeling warm inside. Xie Qianzhong cared about her so much, which was something she couldn't ask for. How could she complain? "Lord Xie is so thoughtful. I have remembered everything you said. If it weren't for your reminder, I might have been confused and made a scene without the Empress Dowager even realizing it."

Xie Qianzhong's smile deepened, like a melting snow mountain: "Just don't blame me."

The two had been together for quite some time, and even though Song Tangxue was reluctant to part, she had no choice but to take one last long look at Xie Qianzhong, carefully tracing his features and engraving him in her heart.

She turned and disappeared into the spring scenery, unable to see anyone. The kiss, as if she had tasted its sweetness, kept reminding Song Tangxue. Song Tangxue pursed her lips, suppressing the slight blush on her face.

She took a detour through the mountains to avoid traveling with Xie Qianzhong, partly to avoid suspicion, and partly because of her own shyness.

Haitang said she wanted to pray to Buddha first, so Song Tangxue let her leave on her own, giving herself some time to sort out her feelings.

This path leads to the gate of Huguo Temple. From afar, a figure in blue can be seen kneeling and slowly climbing the stone steps.
