Chapter 117 Getting Shy

"Zhou Peng".

"Is the meeting over? Let's go out for dinner together." Tang Jia didn't even step into the office. She just leaned against the door frame with her arms crossed, looking mischievously at Zhou Peng sitting behind his desk.

Her assistant stammered, "Mr. Zhou, I'll ask Miss Tang to leave right away."

But he only glanced at Tang Jia before being glared at back.

Zhou Peng knew he was in a difficult position, so he waved for him to leave first.

The assistant, fearing that staying any longer would mean being kept behind, quickly slipped out.

It was already past closing time, and Tang Jia, such a bright and eye-catching beauty, was standing at the door of the boss's office, attracting frequent glances from those who were about to leave.

As soon as they stepped out of the office, the people began whispering among themselves, "Who's that pretty girl? Is she pursuing our boss?"

"Impossible, she's such a beautiful girl."

“Look at the bag she’s carrying. I’ve seen it in a big department store before. It’s so expensive. One bag costs as much as one or two months’ salary.”

"It's so expensive, if she were to date our CEO Zhou, would it be some kind of arranged marriage?"

"Who knows? But I don't think this girl is a good match for our CEO Zhou."

"Our CEO Zhou has a good temper and is very capable. He should find a gentle and charming wife. That girl doesn't look like someone to be trifled with."

"Oh my, what are you saying? What kind of wife is considered a good helpmate? Someone like you, of course."

"What nonsense are you talking about? Mr. Zhou wouldn't even look down on people like us from small families."

A group of young women walked out chatting and laughing.

Meanwhile, Zhou Peng and Tang Jia stared at each other in the office.

"Miss Tang, I..." Before he could finish speaking, Tang Jia walked up to Zhou Peng's desk in her high heels.

He lifted his buttocks and leaned against Zhou Peng's desk.

With her alluring eyes and a wafting fragrance, Zhou Peng unconsciously leaned back in his chair, wanting to get as far away from Tang Jia as possible.

Tang Jia leaned down slightly, and Zhou Peng could feel her hot breath hitting his face.

Are you avoiding me?

Zhou Peng thought for a moment and said, "Yes."

Tang Jia was stunned for a moment; she really hadn't expected Zhou Peng to be so honest.

"Why are you avoiding me? Do you think I'm going to eat you?"

Zhou Peng glanced up at Tang Jia; with her red lips and white teeth, she looked like she was about to eat someone alive.

His undisguised expression really made Tang Jia laugh.

"Haha, I have to say you're really interesting."

Tang Jia looks completely different when she smiles compared to when she doesn't. When she doesn't smile, she looks strong and fierce, but when she smiles, her eyes crinkle and she has a bit of a girl-next-door feel.

Zhou Peng didn't dare to look any longer and quickly looked away. Then, for some reason, his earlobes turned red.

Tang Jia's laughter stopped abruptly, her eyes fixed on Zhou Peng's ears as if she had discovered something new.

"My goodness, are you shy?"

"Why are you shy?!"

Tang Jia's voice grew louder with each sentence; if Zhou Peng hadn't leaned so far back, she would have put her head right up to his ear.

However, her gaze was so intense that Zhou Peng was startled. Without saying a word, he stood up abruptly and took a few steps away from Tang Jia.

This was the first time in his life he had encountered such an enthusiastic girl. Zhou Peng felt that if he hadn't stood up quickly, Tang Jia would have reached out her hand.

"Miss Tang..." Zhou Peng stammered, and Tang Jia, as if she had discovered something amusing, approached Zhou Peng step by step.
