Chapter 129 The Great Battle of Wu

When Wu's staff saw that she was the only one at the entrance of Zhouji's shop, she realized she was at a disadvantage, so she started shouting for help.

But how could her volume compare to Zhou Meimei's loudspeaker?

With the megaphone in hand, Zhou Meimei felt much more confident. Since the guests were all students, she didn't use any vulgar language. Instead, she tried to reason with them.

"Shops like this have no unique characteristics of their own; they just copy others."

"Now look what's happened, they've learned something that's neither here nor there, and they're even trying to steal people from our diary's door."

"Students, you are the pillars of the nation, so tell me, is this approach acceptable?"

Whether they were just watching the spectacle or genuinely thought so, the students all shouted, "Unacceptable! Unacceptable!"

Zhou Meimei then turned the megaphone around to face the students.

"We don't expect everyone to come to our restaurant, because everyone has different tastes. When customers come, we will do our best to serve them."

"If guests don't come, we won't go up and drag them away by force. We at Zhouji will never learn such despicable tactics!"

Zhou Meimei spoke passionately, and the waiter who was with her outside chimed in at the opportune moment, "We won't learn those underhanded tactics!"

The auntie who was blocked at the entrance of Zhou's restaurant was blushing with embarrassment. She had no idea that Zhou Meimei was so bold. She had only heard that Zhou Meimei was a worker, yet she dared to make such a fuss at the entrance.

She called for her people for a long time, but none of them came. She couldn't get out of the house, so she could only scare Zhou Meimei, "If you keep shouting here, your boss will scold you to death when he gets here. Why are you doing business instead of running your business properly?"

"Just take your salary, why worry so much?" She had heard that Zhou's company only hired outsiders.

Unlike Wu's family, who are related to the proprietress, it's naturally more difficult for them to work together as a family.

"Pah!" Zhou Meimei pointed the megaphone at Aunt Wu's shop, ready to give her a piece of her mind, when suddenly there was a loud bang. Everyone looked in the direction of the sound and it seemed to have come from Aunt Wu's shop.

At this moment, Zhou Meimei also vaguely felt that something was wrong. She had just spoken with the megaphone, but not a single person from Wu Ji came over.

This is not in line with Wu Ji's style. Putting aside others, the proprietress definitely couldn't stand it.

In her moment of hesitation, Aunt Wu rushed out of Zhou's encirclement and ran towards Wu's shop.

Some mischievous students were shouting, "Why did you run away? We're not done arguing yet!"

"Did they go back to get reinforcements? Doesn't that mean Wu's company is going to turn the tide?"

"Not necessarily, Zhou Ji is quite remarkable too."

Seeing everyone's high spirits, Zhou Meimei glanced at the people who were sitting and eating in the shop, some standing and others turning their heads to look outside, clearly indicating that they hadn't had enough of the excitement yet.

"Zhou, won't the boss scold us for doing this?" After Wu's people ran away, Zhou's people calmed down.

They couldn't stand Wu Ji's behavior, which is why they couldn't help but do what happened just now.

But the store manager said that they wear Zhouji's uniforms, and everything they do during working hours represents Zhouji. Everyone saw people like those who just dropped what they were doing to surround Wuji.

"It's alright, I'll take responsibility if the store manager asks." Zhou Meimei waved her hand and picked up the megaphone again.

"Dear students, I'm sorry for disturbing your meal. On behalf of Zhouji, I would like to apologize to you all." As she spoke, she bowed slightly to the guests, and the other employees of Zhouji immediately followed suit.

Zhou Meimei continued, "It was our store's fault for giving you a bad experience. To express our apologies, we will give a free snack to all customers who dine in the store today. Please forgive us."

As soon as these words were spoken, not only did the students gasp in surprise, but even the staff of the journal widened their eyes.

"Assistant Zhou?" A waitress tugged at her sleeve.

Everyone knows that Zhou Meimei and the boss are related, but it's obvious that the boss treats her no differently than anyone else, and doesn't give her any special treatment just because they're relatives.

So when Zhou Meimei took it upon herself to say she would send snacks, everyone became worried.

If the store manager comes back and blames them, wouldn't Zhou, the store manager's assistant, have to pay for all the snacks that were given away?

With so many students in front of us, even if each student received a portion, it would cost an unknown amount of money.

Zhou Meimei waved her hand dismissively, "Go and greet the guests first."

The people who were initially standing outside are now rushing inside, and those already eating inside are still asking questions.

"Does what we ordered before count? Are there any freebies for us?"

"Yes, yes, everyone. Don't worry, just eat yours first. I'll go tell the kitchen now and they'll gradually replenish the snacks that were delivered."

Luckily, she had the megaphone in her hand; otherwise, with so many people, her voice would have been drowned out long ago.

The kitchen staff had already started preparing the fire, and Zhou Meimei only said one thing: "Use the newly arrived tableware to pack all the freebies."

The two chefs understood that the new tableware had a smaller capacity; otherwise, it wouldn't look good to put so little food on a large plate.

The shop returned to its usual hustle and bustle. Zhou Meimei went back behind the counter and started taking orders and collecting money non-stop, despite her smiling face as she greeted customers.

Actually, she pressed her legs tightly against the counter to give herself leverage; otherwise, her legs would tremble uncontrollably.

And it's already almost lunchtime, so why are there still so many people coming?
