Chapter 13 Selling Clothes Part 2

"Big sister?" Zhou Sui stood up.

The older woman glanced back, took a few big strides over, and whispered to Zhou Sui, "Little sister, do you see that woman in the white shirt in front of the fruit stand?"

Zhou Sui looked up and asked, "Is that the one with her hair up?"

The older sister glanced at her and nodded repeatedly, "Yes, that's her."

"I see some nice clothes here. Do you have any that would suit her, something that would look really good?"

Zhou Sui thought for a moment, bent down, and pulled a long dress out of the bag. "How about this one?"

This is a plain-colored long dress with a lapel collar. Although the style is simple, it is very pleasing to the eye. Zhou Sui added a brooch to the dress when she was tidying it up yesterday. Even a simple dress can be eye-catching.

The older woman reached out and touched the fabric. "It's good quality material."

"Take a good look at that person, can she even wear this size?"

Zhou Sui looked over and just then, the person finished picking out the fruit and turned to the side, revealing half of their face. The person looked somewhat familiar, and after thinking for a while, Zhou Sui remembered who it was.

Isn't this Zhao Wenxiu, the eldest daughter of the Zhao family in the village who married into the city, Song Qi'an's mother, and Zhao Xinfeng's aunt?

It had been so many years since they last met that Zhou Sui almost didn't remember him.

"Little sister?" the eldest sister called out.

Zhou Sui looked away. "You can wear it. This dress even comes with a belt, so you can adjust the waist."

"If you're still worried, you can have her come over and measure it."

The older sister waved her hands repeatedly, lowering her voice, "Little sister, to tell you the truth, I bought this dress to give to her."

“Her husband is my husband’s manager. I heard that their factory is going to transfer two people to the city this year. My husband has worked there for many years and has this opportunity, but others have the same opportunity.”

"I found out that someone is coming back to town to stay for a few days, so I'm taking this opportunity to send them some things. It's good to at least try my best."

“My husband is so stubborn. He keeps saying we don’t need to give gifts, and people won’t accept them. He doesn’t know anything. He’s just missing the point.”

"I can't afford to give away anything else. The clothes you sell are of good quality, almost the same as those in department stores. I'll go back and find a nice box to put them in, and then buy some other things that I can present to others."

The eldest sister also had her own plans. One shouldn't underestimate the power of a woman's influence, especially when it comes to giving gifts. Neither the husband nor the wife should be left out.

“Yes, eldest sister is right.” Zhou Sui understood. She had heard from the villagers that Zhao Wenxiu had married well, but she didn’t know how good it was.

However, just by looking at Song Qi'an, you can tell that he was wearing brand new clothes and the most fashionable watch on his wrist.

"Big sister, this dress is one of my best pieces, it's twenty-five yuan, not a penny less. I'll also give you a brooch, that brooch alone would cost one or two yuan."

"Little sister, you didn't hear I was giving this away and deliberately raised the price, did you?" The older sister frowned, as if she could turn her back and leave as long as Zhou Sui said it was her.

Zhou Sui was both amused and exasperated. "Big sister, I don't need to. If you're deliberately trying to raise the price, I'll just tell you thirty. You'll give me a reply, and we'll haggle until we settle on twenty-five."

"I'm not the kind of person who beats around the bush. Just tell me if this dress is worth twenty-five."

The older sister pursed her lips and remained silent. She touched the clothes again, looked at them carefully, and thinking of her husband's future, she still took out her money and bought them.

Zhou Sui kindly taught her what kind of box to choose and how to fold clothes, which made the older sister very happy. When she left, she vowed that she would definitely introduce someone to her.

With her eyes fixed ahead, Zhou Sui absentmindedly replied, "Okay, thank you, big sister."

She stared wide-eyed at the man beside Zhao Wenxiu, a man she had seen at the alleyway intersection yesterday.

He was intimate with a young girl back then, and now he's doing the same intimate things to Zhao Wenxiu.

Zhou Sui's heart was in turmoil, recalling Song Qi'an's furtive behavior yesterday, coupled with the scene before her.

It seems she's learned something incredible.

"Miss, miss, how much are these clothes?" Zhou Sui, who was in a daze, turned around when she heard the shout.

She shook her head to bring her thoughts back and began to entertain the guests.

I thought the clothes I bought in bulk would sell in three or four days, but by the second day they were on display, almost all of them were sold out, with only a few winter clothes left.

Thanks to that lady, who brought several groups of people to buy clothes. People saw that Zhou Sui was pretty, dressed beautifully, and had a good tongue, and the clothes she recommended were very suitable, so they introduced other people to come over one after another.

Zhou Sui was a person who knew how to reciprocate kindness. After those people left, she called out to the older sister and handed her a small bag that she had prepared.

"Sister Wang, thank you so much these past two days. This outfit fits perfectly under your red coat."

After two days of getting to know each other, Zhou Sui and Sister Wang have learned each other's names.

"Oh dear, what do you mean? I can't accept this, I can't accept this." Sister Wang waved her hand in refusal.

"Please take this. I don't know how to thank you enough for introducing so many people to me." Zhou Sui knew she was just being polite, so she directly stuffed the clothes into her hands.

Sister Wang grinned from ear to ear, "How come you're such a good businesswoman? Not only did you give everyone a discount because of me, but you even gave me clothes. I'm so embarrassed."

"I see you've almost sold out of these clothes. When are you going to get some new ones?" There were only a few long-sleeved shirts left on the bed sheet that Zhou Sui had spread out.

"Come back in a few days, I'll still be here then." Zhou Sui hadn't decided yet whether to continue selling clothes or something else.

"Okay, I'll bring some people to support your business then." After chatting for a few more minutes, Sister Wang left.

Zhou Sui glanced at the sun, then at the few pieces of clothing on the ground, and prepared to pack up and go home.

Just as I put the clothes into the bag, someone came up to me and said, "Hey, you've sold out so quickly today?"

It was that auntie who sells clothes at the intersection ahead; she was talking while peeking into the bag.

Zhou Sui quickly gathered the bag together and tied it up. "No, it's not selling well, I'm going back."

The aunt clicked her tongue and said, "I see you've had a constant stream of customers, and you're still not selling well?" Her words were blatantly envious.

Zhou Sui didn't reply, thinking she should finish quickly and leave as soon as possible. Her aunt continued, "Little sister, where did you get your clothes from? You look unfamiliar. You're not from town, are you?"

"Okay." Zhou Sui quickly packed her things, straightened up as she listened to the light bag, and said, "Auntie, I'm leaving now."

"Hey, don't be in such a hurry to leave." The aunt tried to stop Zhou Sui to ask her some questions, but Zhou Sui simply stepped aside and walked away.

After walking a few steps, Zhou Sui looked back and saw that the aunt and her husband were moving their stall to where they had just set up.

When she turned around, her aunt glared at Zhou Sui.

Zhou Sui didn't care, and she didn't care about that place anymore.
