Chapter 141 The Clothes Thief

Before summer arrived, the wall at the back gate of the university town was finally torn down. Without that half-height wall, the view was wide open. Before the property prices on the back street rose, Zhou Sui gathered her funds and bought another storefront.

However, the price was still a bit higher than the one she bought before, but it was still worth it. Now that the wall has been pushed down, the university town is only separated from the residential area by a road, and it is less than 20 minutes away from the city center, which has greatly increased the flow of people.

The back street gradually became lively, with shops opening one after another, offering everything from food and clothing to daily necessities. In addition to students, nearby residents also came to visit.

Zhou Sui's snack shop is often packed with people, but fortunately the weather is nice now, so they can set up a few tables at the entrance and let some people sit down.

Everyone assumed she bought another storefront to open a branch of her snack shop, given how many customers were already there.

But that's not actually the case; Zhou Sui actually wanted to open a hot pot restaurant.

She had planned to start a street hot pot business before the Lunar New Year, but she hadn't had the time to do so, so she put it off. Now that her snack shop, milk tea shop, and boxed lunch business have become more stable, Zhou Sui has finally been able to get her hands on them.

Of course, opening a hot pot restaurant in the sweltering summer is not a very reasonable thing, so Zhou Sui plans to study it slowly, and she personally makes decisions on everything from the store's interior decoration to every kind of utensils in the kitchen.

This feeling is like having your first child; you have to be involved in everything and handle everything before you can feel at ease.

Life seemed to proceed in this routine. Every weekend, I would receive flowers from Zhao Xinfeng. I didn't know where he got so many flowers, and he never wore the same kind every week.

Moreover, the amount delivered each time was particularly large, and Zhou Sui simply couldn't take it all home, so she used it as decoration in the milk tea shop.

"Let's not send it next week," Zhou Sui tried to discuss with him.

"That won't do." Zhao Xinfeng's eyes widened. "I must complete the task my elder brother entrusted to me."

"Why don't you send them? If you don't like these flowers, I'll get you something different next time. But don't tell my brother you don't like them, or he'll definitely deduct my delivery fee."

Zhao Xinfeng has made a small fortune over the past few months thanks to the errand fees given to him by Song Qi'an.

Zhou Sui handed him a cup of milk tea. Now that the weather is hot, the store doesn't sell hot milk tea anymore; it's mostly room temperature or iced. Seeing that Zhao Xinfeng had come all this way, Zhou Sui thoughtfully made him a cup of iced milk tea.

He took the milk tea and took a big gulp. "Yu'er told me she wants to drink taro ball milk tea. Sis, can you make me a cup? I'll take it back for her to drink."

Zhao Xinfeng initially called Zhou Sui "Sister Zhou Sui," but since becoming a flower deliveryman, he has dropped the "Sister Zhou Sui" part and now just calls her "Sister."

"Why didn't Xiaoyu come with you?" Zhou Sui was just about to ask this. In the past, Zhou Yu and Zhou Xu would come to the city to play on weekends when they had nothing to do, but Zhou Yu hadn't come for two or three weeks in a row.

"Ugh, don't even mention it. Her family's clothing store has been having clothes go missing lately. She said she's going to go to the store and keep an eye on things to see what's going on."

"Losing clothes?" Zhou Sui wanted to ask what was going on, but Zhao Xinfeng wasn't quite sure either. He took the milk tea and left, and while the milk tea was still cold, he had to hurry and deliver it to Zhou Yu.

Zhou Yu stood at the doorway with his arms crossed, like a door god, his eyes wide open.

Zhou Dawu whispered to his daughter, "Xiaoyu, our family runs a business. It's not appropriate for you to be standing at the entrance like this."

Several customers who were choosing clothes glanced towards the door, because Zhou Yu looked really fierce.

"Dad, don't worry about me, go do your thing." Zhou Yu didn't even glance at her own father.

Zhang Cui goes to pick up her goods about once a week. The store is always full of clothes, and there are many styles for customers to choose from, which is why she is able to attract so many people.

Zhang Cui never used to take inventory of the clothes in the store, but now, during this period of seasonal change, she has been taking inventory of clothes for the past few days, but the number of clothes she takes inventory of each day is different.

After selling off the clothes, the number of clothes left in the store dwindled day by day.

She and Zhou Dawu checked the accounts again. The accounts were correct, but the clothes were still missing.

The question is, where can I take these clothes?

Even if someone was dishonest, there was no way we saw how those clothes were taken out.

"Okay, you stay calm. Have your mom keep an eye on you. She'll say you've scared all the customers away." Seeing that his daughter was unmoved, Zhou Dawu went back to the counter with his hands behind his back.

He was responsible for cashier duties, hanging clothes, trimming loose threads, ironing clothes, and all sorts of odd jobs in the store.

"Boss, please pay for these two items." He had just returned to the counter when a woman came out carrying a pile of clothes.

She placed the pile of clothes on the counter and handed the top two pieces to Zhou Dawu.

For convenience, Zhang Cui put a price tag on each piece of clothing, so Zhou Wu could tell how much the clothing cost just by looking at the tag.

The woman was about to take money out of her pocket when she suddenly felt a shadow fall on her head.

She looked up and saw a tense face scrutinizing her. "Oh, what's going on?" The woman seemed startled, and her hand, which was reaching for her money, froze.

"Xiaoyu," Zhou Dawu called out. This little girl was too inconsiderate. "She's a regular customer of our shop."

No one knows a daughter better than her father. He could tell what Zhou Yu was thinking just by looking at her eyes. She was simply suspicious of the woman in front of her.

But this person frequently came to their store to buy clothes, and became familiar with both him and Zhang Cui; he was a true regular customer.
