Chapter 166 How can I appease him?

This was the second time Zhou Sui had received a call from the police station; the first time was because of Zhou Meimei.

She didn't even have time to think after hanging up the phone before immediately calling Song Qi'an.

Song Qi'an answered the phone after it had only rung two or three times, but before he could even speak, Zhou Sui spoke first.

"Brother Qi An, Tang Jia and my brother are at the police station. We need to go there."

As she spoke, Zhou Sui was already getting dressed; she had already fallen asleep by this time.

"Police station? What happened?" Song Qi'an couldn't understand how Tang Jia was involved with Zhou Peng.

Tang Jia called him countless times today, but he rejected all the calls. She thought that if she didn't contact him, nothing would happen, but she didn't expect that he would still be able to escape.

"There must be some misunderstanding." Zhou Sui wasn't sure what the specifics were, but in short, it seemed to be a misunderstanding. "Where are you now? Shall I come pick you up?"

She thought Song Qi'an was still staying at some hotel.

Song Qi'an had already come out of the room. He walked to the living room, listened intently for a moment, and said, "Wait for me a moment, I'll change my clothes and come out."

Zhou Sui had already dressed and opened the door. She paused for a moment upon hearing Song Qi'an's words. What did he mean? Wait?

"Brother Qi An?" Zhou Sui called out, and heard faint, furtive sounds coming from the other side, probably someone getting dressed.

Zhou Sui slowly closed the door, then looked at her phone screen. It was still on a call, so she called out again.

"Here it is." Song Qi'an's voice came from the phone.

Then she heard a click from the side. Zhou Sui subconsciously turned around and saw that the door next door had opened and Song Qi'an had come out.

"You?" Zhou Sui stared at him in shock, speechless for a long time.

Song Qi'an calmly hung up the phone and pressed the elevator button. "I live right next door to you."

Nonsense, isn't that obvious? You don't need to tell me.

What Zhou Sui cared about was, "You never told me where you lived when I asked you before?"

She came out in a hurry, her hair hanging loosely over her shoulders, looking a little messy. Because of her anger, the few tufts of hair on her head were swaying back and forth.

"I was planning to tell you tomorrow." Song Qi'an had only moved in tonight; he had just finished showering when Zhou Sui called him.

Zhou Sui glanced at him sideways, clearly not believing him. "You only said that because I found out, right?"

"No." Even if Song Qi'an spoke sincerely, Zhou Sui was still somewhat skeptical.

Zhou Sui might not usually act like this, but now that her good sleep has been disturbed, she's grumpy and starts looking for trouble.

Song Qi'an wanted to explain further, but the elevator arrived, and Zhou Sui went in first.

Then she stormed off to the side, arms crossed, and said, "You were still hiding this from me?"

"I was wondering why the place next door, which had been empty for so long, suddenly started moving furniture in and people were going to move in?"

"If you want to stay, then stay. What am I going to do to stop you?"

Her small, bright red mouth opened and closed, and with each word she spoke, she grew angrier. Although she didn't know where her anger came from, she just couldn't help but want to throw a little tantrum.

Song Qi'an was clearly unable to answer the questions one after another. His tone was cautious, even to the point that he himself was unaware of, as if he were dealing with some major project when answering Zhou Sui's questions.

"I'm sorry, Sui Sui. I was only thinking about giving you a surprise and I neglected to keep it from you, which made you unhappy."

Song Qi'an didn't explain further, but sincerely apologized to Zhou Sui.

This left Zhou Sui feeling stuck in her throat, unable to swallow her anger. Song Qi'an's quick apology made her suddenly feel like she was being a bit unreasonable.

"Hmph." This realization made her very uncomfortable. Just then, the elevator arrived at the first floor. Zhou Sui snorted heavily, lifted her leg, and walked out, completely unaware that she was acting like a spoiled little girl.

Song Qi'an quickly followed, saying, "We can just drive there together."

It would have been fine if we hadn't mentioned driving, but as soon as we did, Zhou Sui saw the luxury car next to her parking space, and a thought suddenly popped into her head.

Is this parking space yours?

Song Qi'an wanted to say no, but Zhou Sui's eyes told him that it was best to tell the truth.

"yes."

Zhou Sui felt even angrier. "When you first came back, I was worried that you wouldn't have anywhere to stay, so I let you stay at my house for one night."

Who knew their house was right next door?

"Back then, the place next door was empty, and even if I went in, there was nowhere to sleep," Song Qi'an said, stating the facts. Zhou Sui shot him a glare, and he quickly changed his story.

"It's all my fault. I blame myself for not telling you all this in time."

Zhou Sui glanced at him, her delicate face clearly saying: I'm very angry.

Song Qi'an was now at his wits' end. He didn't know what to do to appease Zhou Sui, and at the same time, he silently cursed Xiang Jie in his heart, because it was all Xiang Jie's idea that had come to him.

He even said it was foolproof and would definitely make girls cry their eyes out; now it's him who should be crying.

The panic in Song Qi'an's eyes was obvious, and Zhou Sui, for some reason, suddenly felt much of her anger dissipate.

"Let's go to the police station first." Now is not the time to talk about this; there are two other people waiting for them there.

Song Qi'an quickly opened the car door, "Take my car and go."

He knew that Zhou Sui could be quite lazy at times, such as when it came to driving.

Zhou Sui looked at him for a while, and just when Song Qi'an was about to breathe a sigh of relief, Zhou Sui finally walked over. After she sat down, Song Qi'an fastened her seatbelt before returning to the driver's seat.

Perhaps because he had just taken a shower, when he fastened Zhou Sui's seatbelt, Zhou Sui could smell his scent from so close.

There was a faint sandalwood scent, completely different from the perfumes Zhou Sui usually used.

It smelled wonderful; even after Song Qi'an left, the fragrance still lingered in Zhou Sui's nostrils from time to time.

When Song Qi'an came in, he saw Zhou Sui sniffing. "Is there a smell in the car?" he asked, opening his car window a crack.

Zhou Sui shook her head without saying a word, leaning back in her seat, making her stance clear: I don't want to talk.

If the atmosphere weren't a bit off, Song Qi'an would have laughed. This girl usually seems quite mature, but how come she's so cute when she gets angry?

He didn't want to laugh, but the look in his eyes when he looked at Zhou Sui didn't lie; his eyes were full of doting smiles.

Zhou Sui met his gaze and almost fell for his deep eyes.

Fortunately, she had enough self-control and came to her senses in time. She turned her head to the side, leaving a rounded back of her head facing Song Qi'an.

Song Qi'an started the car and drove out of the residential area. All the way, he racked his brains, thinking about what to do and how to coax her.
