Chapter 193 I Solved One

In order to allow Li Qiuju and Zhou Dayong to return to the Li family home for the Spring Festival, Zhao Xiaohua and Li Fuyou showed amazing patience.

For several days in a row, people came to ask for help. Zhou Dayong and Li Qiuju initially refused outright, but after being persuaded so many times, they couldn't really refuse anymore.

But every time Li Fuyou and Zhao Xiaohua came, they made a big fuss. Now everyone in the neighborhood knows that the Li family is inviting the Zhou family back for the New Year, which is a subtle way of putting the Zhou family on a pedestal.

“I know why they want us to go back. Isn’t it just to rent our house?” Li Qiuju had seen through her family’s true colors and knew that once the house was given to them, it was gone forever.

"Even if this house weren't mine, I wouldn't want them to live here."

“Dayong, how about this, starting tomorrow we’ll lock our front door and go in and out through Lao Er’s place. After a few days, Fuyou and Xiaohua will calm down.” Li Qiuju discussed with Zhou Dayong.

Otherwise, if the door is open, you can't stop people from coming in, no matter how hard you try.

"It's fine if the person leaves, but what about the car? It's still parked in our yard, isn't it?" If we really do that, I'm afraid the gossipers in the village will have something to say again.

"I already said all that yesterday. If they still come, how shameless would they be?" Li Qiuju is a gentle person, and it was only when she was pushed to the limit that she said such harsh words.

Yesterday, when Li Fuyou left home, his face was so dark that if a chicken ran past him at that moment, it might get kicked by him for no reason.

As the couple were discussing things, a noise suddenly came from the yard. Li Qiuju was startled, "Could it be them?"

Zhou Dayong was getting annoyed. He got up and looked outside, thinking that if it really was Li Fuyou and his group, he would just block them at the door and not let them in.

"It's Sui Sui." Zhou Dayong's voice was filled with a hint of joy, and Li Qiuju breathed a sigh of relief.

As soon as Zhou Sui entered the living room, she noticed that her parents looked strange. "Mom and Dad, what are you talking about?"

"It's nothing," Li Qiuju said with a smile, not wanting her daughter to worry. "How was your trip to town today?"

The town has developed well in the past two years, with many more shopping malls, cinemas, restaurants, and so on. Zhou Sui hadn't been there for a long time, so she said she wanted to go shopping as soon as she got up early in the morning.

"It's great." Actually, Song Qi'an had taken her out on a date, but of course, he couldn't say that.

Li Qiuju wanted to ask more questions, but Zhou Sui sat down next to her and leaned affectionately on her shoulder. "Let me guess, were you talking about the Li family just now?"

After her rebirth, Zhou Sui refused to call her maternal grandmother, uncle, and aunt. Sometimes, when pushed too far, she would even call them by their first names when they started cursing, since those three people were indeed not related to her by blood at all.

Moreover, in her heart, the Li family no longer included Li Qiuju; they no longer regarded Li Qiuju as family.

"No, we're just chatting," Zhou Dayong said.

Zhou Sui sat up straight and looked at the two of them. "You don't need to worry about it. I've taken care of everything."

"Huh?" Zhou Dayong and Li Qiuju looked at her with surprise.

"How did you solve it? No, do you even know what it was about? You just solved it?" Zhou Dayong hadn't told his daughter about this either.

"Li Baolai told me that."

As luck would have it, Zhou Sui ran into Li Bao in town today. The guy had lost even more weight since the last time she saw him. Despite the freezing weather, he was bundled up like a dumpling and selling fireworks by the roadside.

Zhou Sui didn't recognize him at all; it was Li Baolai who took the initiative to greet her, "Sister Zhou Sui, Sister Zhou Sui."

At that moment, Zhou Sui and Song Qi'an were holding hands. When this little brat saw them, he called out "sister" and then added, "brother-in-law."

If Zhou Sui hadn't been holding Song Qi'an's hand, she would have given the little brat a good slap. He called her "brother-in-law" without even asking. But Song Qi'an responded readily; this was the first person to call him that, so how could he not be happy?

Then, in his excitement, he wanted to spend money to buy all of Li Baolai's fireworks and firecrackers, and after buying them, he wouldn't take them away. Wasn't that just giving away money for nothing?

Zhou Sui glared at him, her eyes darting around, but Song Qi'an acted as if he hadn't seen her at all.

Li Baolai was equally happy, saying, "Thank you, brother-in-law. You're such a good person. When I went to my aunt's house before, I knew that you and my sister would definitely be a couple."

Well, Song Qi'an was even happier. He gave Li Baolai two large denomination bills instead of the usual odds and ends. Li Baolai was so happy he wanted to scream, but he held it in when he met Zhou Sui's eyes.

There was no way around it; Zhou Sui had left a deep scar on his heart, so he couldn't help but be afraid.
